DONNA V. FOLK
FROSTBURG - Donna V. Folk, 68, of 13 Bealls Lane, Frostburg, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 4, 1999, at her residence.
Born March 13, 1931, in Everett, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Robert E. and Helen (Donius) Grimes. She also was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty L. Hunt and Jenny Witt; and a brother, Robert L. Grimes.
Ms. Folk was a member of the Welsh Baptist Church, Frostburg. She was a homemaker, a volunteer/employee at the Frostburg Village Nursing Care Center, and a home health care provider.
Surviving are two daughters, Carolyn M. Wolfe, Frostburg, and Bonnie J. Shea, Zihlman; a son, Blaine Folk and his wife, Sandy (McKenzie), Zihlman; four grandsons, Jeffrey W. Wolfe and his wife, Janet (Zlomek), Gaithersburg, Joshua A. Shaw, Zihlman, and Tyler Folk and Wayne Folk, both of Zihlman; a granddaughter, Kimberly Shea Wolfe, Frostburg; a sister, Marlene Bittner and husband, Nevin, Zihlman; a brother-in-law, Tom Hunt, Frostburg; an uncle, George Donius; and aunt LaVada Martin; special people include Donald J. Folk; several nieces and nephews; and many wonderful individuals and doctors from the cancer clinic.
At Donna's request, the body will be cremated and no funeral or memorial services will be held. She will be put to rest in the Frostburg Memorial Cemetery.

ALBERTA ELLIFRITZ
MOUNTAIN LAKE PARK - Alberta (Hanft) Ellifritz, 80, of 607 N Street, Mountain Lake Park, died Friday, Feb. 12, 1999, at Cuppett-Weeks Nursing Home, Oakland.
Born Feb. 19, 1918, in Cove, she was a daughter of the late William and Lena (Weber) Hanft. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ellifritz.
Mrs. Ellifritz was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church (Missouri Synod), Cove, and was a retired cook for Garrett County Memorial Hospital.
She is survived by three brothers, Paul Hanft, Louisville, Ohio, Homer Hanft, Canton, Ohio, Allen Hanft, North Canton, Ohio; and a sister, Dorothy Resh, Accident.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., McHenry, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted in St. John's Lutheran Church (M.S.) on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Douglas Kabell officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to services.
Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may be directed to either St. John's Church Memorial Fund or Hospice of Garrett County.
ARTHUR W. FRIEND
OAKLAND - Arthur W. Friend, 86, of Hutton Road, Oakland, died Tuesday, Jan. 26, 1999, at the Keiser Personal Care Home, Oakland.
Born Oct. 7, 1912, in Friendsville, he was the son of the late Bruce and Minnie M. (Umbel) Friend. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Burldine A. "Duty"Friend, in 1998.
Mr. Friend was a graduate of the Frostburg Norman School, Class of 1931, and taught at the elementary schools in Crellin and Fearer. He was a mechanic and electrician and worked for the Stanley Kray Coal Co., Crellin, and Island Creek Coal Co., Bayard, W.Va.
He was a member of the Crellin United Brethren in Christ Church and Lodge 11 WOW, Oakland.
Surviving are one son, Larry A. Friend and wife Judith, Springfield, W.Va.; one sister, Ellen Humberson, Friendsville; two brothers, Charles Friend, Hazelton, W.Va., and Amos Friend, Friendsville; and one granddaughter, Amy Profet, Raleigh, N.C.
Friends will be received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, Jan. 28, 1999, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Charles Teets and the Rev. Michael Mudge officiating.
Interment will be in the Oakland Cemetery.
GEORGE E. ELLIS
RAWLINGS - George Edward "Eddie" Ellis, 77, of Rawlings, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999, at the Cumberland Nursing Home.
Born Feb. 3, 1922, in Mount Savage, he was the son of the late Albert E. and Lydia M. (Burall) Ellis. He also was preceded in death by one brother, William Albert Ellis; five sisters, Louise Krapf, Helen Bridges, Margaret Ellis, Anna Lee Hershberger and Kathryn Browning.
Mr. Ellis was retired from the Kelly Springfield Tire Company after 28 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Cresaptown Eagles Aerie #2883.
Surviving are his wife, Violet Mae (Baldwin) Ellis; one daughter, Clara Mae Lefebvre, Blaine, Minn.; one brother, Ronald Ellis, Frederick; one sister, Rowena Bennett, Cresaptown; three grandchildren, Diane Lefebvre, Blaine, Michael Lefebvre, Pittsburgh, Pa., and Christine Lefebvre, Blaine; and four great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., Cresaptown, Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Cresaptown Eagles will conduct a memorial service Thursday at 7:15 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home Friday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Harold R. McClay Jr. officiating.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Graveside military honors will be accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
STELLA FISHER
PHOENIX - Stella (Stevens) Fisher, 80, of Phoenix, died May 21, 1999.
Born Dec. 16, 1918, Stell was the daughter of the late George and Annie Stevens of Zihlman, Md. She was preceded in death by her husband, Col. John 'Doc' Fisher; three brothers, Harry, Carl and Allen; and one sister, Helen Stevens Evans. She was the last member of her immediate family.
She is survived by one son, John 'Jack' Fisher, Bethlehem, Pa.; and three granddaughters, Debra Wilcox, Sharon Cain and Shelby Fisher.
Arrangements are for Stella to be buried with her husband at Arlington National cemetery June 3 at 9:30 a.m.
DOROTHY ELRICK
FROSTBURG - Dorothy Elrick, 84, of Frostburg, died Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999, at her home. She died in the same house she was born in.
Born March 8, 1915, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late William L. and Keziah (Griffith) Lewis. She also was preceded in death by five sisters, Eva, Rena, Annie, Myra and Mary; and one granddaughter, Stephanie Appleman.
Mrs. Elrick received her B.A. degree from Frostburg Teachers College. She taught on the Eastern Shore until it was found out that she was married. She taught kindergarten in Cumberland. She was a member of the Allegany County Retired Teachers Association.
Surviving are her husband, James; four daughters, Dorothy Appleman and husband Bob, Laurel; Josephine Coburn and husband Bob, Frostburg; Frances Zembower and husband Jerry, Vale Summit; Bebe Elrick, Frostburg; six grandchildren, Chris Appleman, Mimi Raffael, Robert and Joseph Coburn, and Jamie and Kaitlin Zembower; six great-grandchildren, Mary, Morgan and Madeline Raffael and Meghan, Elli and Chagall Coburn and one sister, Miriam Lancaster, Akron, Ohio.
Her body will be cremated. There will be no visitation or services.
The Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., 60 W. Main St., Frostburg, is in charge of arrangements.
GEORGE T. GRAY
OLDTOWN - George Thomas Gray, 79, of Oldtown, died Sunday, Jan. 17, 1999, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Sept. 6, 1919, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Thomas Wilson and Cleona (Arbogast) Gray. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Mr. Gray was a retired foreman from the B&O; Railroad. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a member of Oldtown VFW Clifford B. Sisler Post 9451. He was Methodist by faith.
Surviving are his former wife, Juanita G. Gray; three sons, Glen Gray, Illinois, Gary Gray, Nebraska, and Carlton Gray, Pennsylvania; and a friend, William Shriver, Cumberland.
Graveside services will be conducted at the Maryland State Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap, Flintstone, on Tuesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Wayne R. Turner officiating.
Military honors will be accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
