BERNARD R. FLEIGLE
CUMBERLAND - Bernard Ray Fleigle, 85, of 12807 Old Church Road, NE, Cumberland, died Monday, Nov. 29, 1999, at his home.
Born May 17, 1914, in Boynton, Pa., he was the son of the late Charles V. Fleigle and the late Letitia (Decker) Fleigle. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Cerneil Angela (Robertson) Fleigle, in February 1994.
Mr. Fleigle was a retired employee of Local Union 296, Masonry and Bricklayers. He was a member of Fort Cumberland Post 13, American Legion, and a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Marines. He attended Zion United Methodist Church.
Surviving are one daughter, Jean Shumaker and husband Wayne, Cumberland; one granddaughter, Deborah Niner, Deep Creek Lake; one grandson, Ronald Shumaker, Grantsville; one great-granddaughter, Allie Shumaker, Frostburg; one great-grandson, Shay Shumaker, Frostburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Scott Shumaker officiating.
Burial will be in the Maryland State Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap.
BERNARD EMERICK SR.
ELLERSLIE - Bernard Alexis Emerick Sr., 64, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Jan. 29, 1999, at his residence in Ellerslie.
Born Sept. 9, 1934, in Ellerslie, he was a son of Anna Elizabeth (Ash) Emerick, State Line (Ellerslie), and the late Charles Leroy "Doc"Emerick.
Mr. Emerick is also survived by his wife, Mary Irene (Twigg) Emerick; a son, Bernard A. Emerick Jr. and wife, Christina, Bowling Green; a brother, Farrell Emerick, State Line, Pa.; three sisters, June E. Shaffer, Hyndman, Pa., Colleen E. Logue, Ellerslie, and Fay E. Leckemby, State Line; and two grandchildren.
Mr. Emerick retired from Coca-Cola Bottling Company, Cumberland, after 28 years of service. Later he worked for a number of years for Ryan Janitorial, Cumberland. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and the Active Army Reserve. He attended the Central Assembly of God, Cumberland.
Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. David Diehl, assistant pastor, Central Assembly of God, officiating.
Interment will be in Palo Alto Cemetery, Hyndman Road, Hyndman.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Hospice.
EVELYN C. FRIEND
FRIENDSVILLE - Evelyn Catherine Friend, 89, of 140 Walnut St., Friendsville, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born July 16, 1909, she was the daughter of the late Walter F. and Alice (Umbel) Humberson. Mrs. Friend was preceded in death by her husband, Olin N. Friend, on Oct. 25, 1990.
She was a homemaker and a member of Blooming Rose United Methodist Church, Friendsville.
Surviving are one son, Walter Olin Friend, New Castle, Ind.; three daughters, Theresa Hetrick, Grantsville, Betty Lou Selby, Baltimore, Leota Stover, Mountain Lake Park; one brother, Ralph Humberson, Friendsville; four sisters, Gladys Frantz and Doris Friend, both of Friendsville, Florence Livengood, Cuzzart, W.Va., Arlene Sellers, Mentor, Ohio; 20 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Friendsville, on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the Blooming Rose United Methodist Church on Friday, Feb. 5, 1999, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Robert Milliren officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
Interment will be in the Blooming Rose Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Hospice of Garrett County, or to Blooming Rose United Methodist Church.
CLARA N. FROST
CUMBERLAND - Clara N. Frost, 98, of Devlin Manor Nursing Home, formerly of Edgevale Ave., Kentuky Ave., and Mary St., died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 1999, at the nursing home.
Born Dec. 13, 1900, in Cumberland, she was the daughter, of the late Daniel T. and Maude Anna (Fisher) Kitzmiller. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard A. Frost; and two sisters, Glennie M. Snyder, and Maude L. Davis.
Mrs. Frost was a former employee of Umstot Market, Virginia Ave., and Union Laundry. She was a member of Emmanuel/Bethel United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, the Mezpah Sunday School Class, the Mapleside Homemakers, and the Royal Neighbors of America Lodge.
Surviving are two sons, H. Edward Frost and wife, Barbara, and Gary W. Frost and wife, Bonnie, both of Cumberland; six grandchildren, Kevin W. Frost and wife, Amy, Cumberland, Karen L. Rice and husband, Robert, Manassas, Kelley J. Syruws and husband, Timothy, Greensboro, N.C., Keith E. "Buc" Frost and wife, Tammy, Cumberland, Jennifer L. Johnson, Cumberland; and Edward E. Frost, Cumberland; six great-grandchildren, Jason, Jessica, Dylan, Joshua, Jacob, and Jeannine; and six step-great-grandchildren, Nicole, Ashley, Shane, Brandy, Tiffany, and Brent.

ANNE N. GRANT
OAKLAND - Anne Naylor Grant, 72, of Oakland, died Oct. 9, 1999, at her home.
Born Sept. 25, 1927, in Oakland, she was the daughter of the late Singlton Townshend Naylor and Elizabeth (Mitchell) Naylor. She was also preceded in death by her step-mother, Alice B. Naylor and one son, Townshend N. Grant.
Mrs. Grant was a member of St. Mathews Episcopal Church and the Oakland Civic Club.
Surviving are her husband, Dr. Bowie Linn Grant; two sons, Bowie L. Grant, Jr., Granger, Indiana, and William B. Grant, Oakland; one daughter, Elizabeth G. Biser, Oakland; two sisters, Mary T. Richardson and Olivia P. Mersing, both of Williamsburg, Va.; and eight grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Durst Funeral Home, Oakland, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at St. Mathews Episcopal Church on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Chip Lee, officiating.
Interment will be in the Oakland Cemetery.

SARAH E. GREEN
LONACONING - Sarah Elizabeth Green, 80, of 15817 Rockville St., Lonaconing, died May 14, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born at Mill Run, Barton, on May 3, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Wesley and Bertha (Crawford) Klipstein.
Surviving are her husband, Ellsworth Vernon Green; one sister, Esther Businsky, Kingsville; two brothers, Sherman Klipstein, Bowling Green, Wesley Klipstein, Akron, Ohio.
She was a former employee of Celanese Fibers Corporation. She was a member of Barton United Methodist Church, A.A.R.P., and Georges Creek Senior Citizens.
Friends will be received at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing, Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home Tuesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. John Park officiating.
Interment will be in the Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow Mills.
