WHITEY EROR
CUMBERLAND - Whitey Eror, 82, of Cumberland, died Sunday, Sept. 5, 1999, at Memorial Hospital.
Born May 4, 1917, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Voso and Mica Eror. He also was preceded in death by two sisters, Marie and Mary; and two brothers, George and Peter.
Mr. Eror was retired from the C&P; Telephone Co. He was a member, deacon and trustee of the Livingstone Church of the Brethren. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers, former owner and operator of the Fort Cumberland Golf Course, member of the Fort Hill Band Parents for 37 years, and a volunteer for the Interfaith Pantry. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Helen R. Eror; four daughters, Gail E. Looney and husband John, Wheeling, W.Va., Joyce H. Michaels and husband Richard, Short Gap, W.Va., Jane A. Boley and husband Jeffrey, Irwin, Pa., and Cynthia R. Wise and husband Charles, Mineral, Va.; four grandchildren, Tracey L. Brotemarkle, Cumberland, Jennifer R. Silber and husband Chad, Cumberland, Giles E. Wright Jr., Library, Pa., Megan N. Boley, Irwin; two step-grandchildren, Greg and Craig Michaels, Barrelville; one great-granddaughter, Chelsea D. Brotemarkle, Cumberland; one sister, Donna A. Eror, Cumberland; one brother, Michael Eror and wife Joyce, Cumberland; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Livingstone Church of the Brethren, Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Timothy L. Monn officiating.
Friends will be received at the church one hour prior to the services.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland.
The family requests that contributions be made to the Livingstone Church of the Brethren Building Fund.
Pallbearers will be Earl Royce, Dale VanMeter, Jim VanMeter, Ed Parsons, Ron Cage and John Nelson.
ARTHUR C. EVANS
CRESAPTOWN - Funeral services for Arthur C. Evans will be conducted at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., Cresaptown, on Saturday at 11 a.m.
He was the son of the late Felix and Rosa Blanche (O'Brien) Evans.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale.
Graveside military honors will be accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
BAISIE V. EVANS
CUMBERLAND - Baisie V. Evans, 87, of Cumberland, died Friday, March 5, 1999, at Memorial Hospital.
Born in Piedmont, W.Va., on Dec. 12, 1911, she was the daughter of the late Zebulon A. and Roseann (Alderton) Braithwaite. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmo A. Evans Sr.; two sons, William O. Braithwaite Sr. and Lt. Elmo A."Sonny" Evans Jr.; a grandson, James I. Wolford Jr.; a granddaughter, Kristi R. Walls; and a sister, Lorraine Habermeyer.
She was a graduate of Pennsylvania Avenue High School Class of 1930. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church and the Gold Star Mothers where she served in many offices. She was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary Fort Washington Post #2. She was active in the South Cumberland Health Clinic and the County United Way.
She is survived by two daughters, Elma L. Kennell and husband, Charles, Gettysburg, Pa., and Lorraine E."Sis" Walls and husband, James, Ranson, W.Va.; four grandchildren, William O. Braithwaite Jr. and wife, Lori, LaVale, Pamela L. Patrick and husband, Jeffrey, Leesburg, Va., Craig A. Walls and wife, Rhonda, Martinsburg, W.Va., and Jaime L. Walls, Ranson; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Hilda M. Morrissey and husband, John N."Red," Cumberland.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday at the funeral home at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Richard Jewell officiating.
Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery.
The D.A.V. Auxiliary will conduct their memorial service on Sunday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
BETTY M. EVANS
OLDTOWN - Betty Mae Evans, 76, of East Wilson Road SE, Oldtown, died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 1999, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland.
Born April 15, 1923, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Effie (Karnes) Crutchley. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Julius Evans; one brother; and two sisters.
Mrs. Evans was a homemaker and a member of the Oldtown United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Sharon McBride and husband Tommy, Oldtown, and Sandra Bircher and husband George, Petersburg, W.Va.; one sister, Pauline Robinette and husband Bill, Wiley Ford, W.Va.; two brothers, Paul Crutchley and wife Mary, Oldtown, and James Crutchley and wife Betty Jo, San Mateo, Calif; four grandchildren, Tammy Guinn, Mike Bible, Kimberly McBride and Tommy McBride Jr.; one great-granddaughter, Miranda Bible; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Michael Henning officiating.
Interment will be in the Davis Memorial Cemetery.
CATHERINE A. FOOTEN
BARTON - Catherine A. Footen, 87, of the Moran Manor Nursing Home, formerly of Hill Street, Barton, died Friday, Aug. 20, 1999, at the nursing home.
Born Nov. 16, 1911, at Waynesboro, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Harry and Harriett (Hawk) Zentmyer. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Paul L. Footen, in 1995.
Mrs. Footen was a retired elementary school teacher, having taught in Allegany County. She was a member of St. Gabriel's Catholic Church, Barton.
Surviving are a sister, Mabel Zentmyer of Hagerstown; a nephew, Larry Zentmyer of New York City; and a niece, Sandra Blair of Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends at the Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton, on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church, Barton, on Monday at 10 a.m. with Father James Hannon as celebrant.
Interment will be in the St. Gabriel's Cemetery.
LURA MAE FOLK
GRANTSVILLE - Lura Mae Folk, 100, of 891 Dorsey Hotel Road, Grantsville, and formerly of Springs, Pa., died Wednesday, July 15, 1999, at the Goodwill Mennonite Home.
Born Sept. 10, 1898, in Elk Lick Township, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Jonas and Alice (Yoder) Ash. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleman E. Folk; and a daughter, Roxanna Whisner.
Mrs. Folk was one of the founders of Keystone Lime Company. She was a former school teacher and a homemaker. She also was a charter member of the Springs Historical Society, a lifelong member of the Springs Mennonite Church where she served many years as a Sunday School teacher and in other capacities. She attended Juniata Teachers College.
Survivors include a son, Mark J. Folk, Springs; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the Springs Mennonite Church, Saturday at 9:30 a.m. with the Rev. Steven Heatwole officiating.
Private interment will be in Springs Cemetery.

FLORENCE M. FOREMAN
CORRIGANVILLE - Florence Margaret Foreman, 81, of Box 255, Corriganville, died Friday, April 16, 1999, at Memorial Hospital.
Born March 4, 1918, in Barrelville, she was the daughter of the late Michael H. Garlick and the late Margaret Rebecca (Seise) Garlick. She was also preceded in death by her husband, the late Raymond L. Foreman, on June 18, 1989.
Mrs. Foreman was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Corriganville, and the Corriganville Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving are two sons, Harold L. Foreman, Corriganville, and Merle E. Foreman, Laurel; two sisters, Margaret Meyers, Wellersburg, Pa., and Ethel Potts, Everett, Pa.; three grandchildren, Cathy Foreman, Glen Burnie, Steven Foreman, Middletown, and Danielle Foreman, Laurel; and one great-granddaughter, Sabrina Foreman, Middletown.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted on Monday at 1 p.m. at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., with the Rev. Steven L. Craft officiating.
Interment will be in Cook Cemetery, Wellersburg.
