CAROLE A. EVANS
LUKE - Carole Ann Evans, 57, of 102 Mullen Ave., Luke, died Thursday, Sept. 16, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born on Aug. 13, 1942, in Westernport, she was the daughter of the late Harold D. and Beatrice I. (Junkins) Parsons. She was also preceded in death by husbands, Thomas E. Bryan in 1984, and Harold E. Evans in 1998.
Ms. Evans was a homemaker, and a member or the Christ Memorial Baptist Church, Westernport.
Surviving are one son, Thomas Bryan III and wife Janet, Luke; two daughters, Patricia Kelly, Luke, and Jennifer Thrush and husband Jerry, Piedmont, W.Va.; one brother, Robert Harold Parsons, Bloomington; two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Schoppert, Keyser, W.Va., and Janet Louise Barton, Cresaptown; and six grandchildren, Julie Bryan, Greg Bryan, Jessica Brown, Jerry Thrush II, Jaclyn Thrush, and Brandon Bryan.
The family will receive friends at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Christ Memorial Baptist Church, Westernport, on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Steffan Carr officiating.
Interment will be in the Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser, W.Va.
Pallbears will be Thomas Bryan, Thomas Barton, Jerry Thrush II, Greg Bryan, John Parsons, and Jerry Thrush.
DATHA P. "DUTCH" EVANS
LAVALE - Datha P. "Dutch" Evans, 83, of LaVale, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 21, 1999, at the home of her daughter in Hyndman, Pa.
Born on Dec. 8, 1915, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late Walter Isaac and Minnie V. (Robeson) Crowe. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Wilmer Crowe and Earl Crowe; and four sisters, Leda Krausz, Jessie Evans, Mae Biller and Ethelene Whetstone.
She had attended the Gospel Hall, Cumberland.
Mrs. Evans was a loving and devoted wife and mother and will be deeply missed by her family.
Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Paul L. Evans; two daughters, Karen S. Bowman and husband, Douglas, Flintstone, Pamela J. Shaffer and husband, Randy, Hyndman, with whom she resided since becoming ill in October 1996; one son, David B. Evans and wife, Jean, Hyndman; one granddaughter, Kirsten S. Dixon and husband, William, Oldtown; and one sister, Pearl Blazek, Austintown, Ohio.
Friends will be received in the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, 1302 National Highway, LaVale, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Terry Campbell officiating.
Interment will follow in Frostburg Memorial Park, Frostburg.
If memorial contributions are desired, they may be made in memory of Mrs. Evans to the Hyndman Area Rescue Squad, 164 Market St., Hyndman, PA 15545, or to Western Maryland Health Systems, Home Hospice Care, 902 Seton Drive, Cumberland, MD 21502.
Pallbearers will be Willard Green, Gary Green, Brad Whetstone Jr., Todd Whetstone, Bill Dixon and Steve Bowman.
DONALD M. EVANS
OAKLAND - Donald M. Evans, 85, of Oakland, died Sunday, July 18, 1999, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland.
Born March 24, 1914, in Preston County, W.Va., he was a son of the late William L. Evans and Callie (Menear) Evans. He also was preceded in death by his brother, Earl L. Evans.
Mr. Evans was a veteran of World War II. He was a retired meat cutter.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Gladys (Bolyard) Evans; three sons, Dale E. Evans and wife Shirley, Oakland, Donald R. Evans Sr., Thomas, W.Va., and George W. Evans and wife Judith, Swanton; one daughter, Connie Thomas and husband Henry, Katy, Texas; one sister, Ruth Reese, Mountain Lake Park; 11 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Durst Funeral Home, Oakland, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. David Kisamore officiating.
Interment will be in Garrett County Memorial Gardens.

JAMES H. EVANS JR.
LONACONING - James Harold Evans Jr., 56, of 37 Furnace Street, Lonaconing, died July 7, 1999, at home.
Born in Frostburg on April 30, 1943, he was the son of James Harold Evans Sr. and Mary (Conway) Evans of Frostburg. He was preceded in death by a brother, Patrick Evans.
Mr. Evans was retired from the State of Maryland Probation and Parole Division where he had been a supervisor. He was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam Era, a Frostburg State University graduate and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society of the church, Frostburg Moose, Cresaptown Eagles and Farrady Post 24, American Legion, Frostburg.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife, Jennie Elizabeth (Sloan) Evans; one son, James Harold Evans III and wife, Betsy Ann, Lonaconing; one daughter, Julie and Roger Halbritter, Midland; two grandchildren, Joshua Hank Halbritter and Justin James Halbritter, both of Midland; one brother, Edmund Evans, Ellicott City and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing, on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father James Hannon as celebrant. Interment will be at Frostburg Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be, Kevin Kelly, Jim Stakem, Stan Raley, Jeff Sloan, Fred Sloan and Dan Sloan.
NELLIE C. EVANS
CUMBERLAND - Nellie Catherine Evans, 81, of 14914 Grady Drive SE, Cumberland, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1999, at The Chateau of Cumberland on White Avenue.
Born March 28, 1918, in Oldtown, she was the daughter of the late Claude Wagner Sr. and the late Daisy (Lewis) Wagner. She also was preceded in death by two husbands, George B. Evans and Floyd Grady; and one brother, Robert D. Wagner.
Mrs. Evans was a retired employee of the Crystal Laundry, and a former employee of the Celanese Corporation of America. She was a member of the Davis Memorial Methodist Church.
Surviving are one stepdaughter, Patricia Miller and husband Richard, LaVale; six brothers, Daniel W. Wagner and wife Jean, McHenry, Edward J. Wagner and wife Lucy, Cresaptown, Claude W. Wagner Jr. and wife Jane, Oakland, James A. Wagner and wife Margaret, Bittinger, Nile E. Wagner and wife Kathryn, McHenry, and Donald E. Wagner and wife Beverly, York, S.C.; four sisters, Pauline N. Chapman, Cumberland, Carrie O. Platt and husband Everett, Cumberland, Margaret E. Edgar, Oakland, and Joanne Brenneman and husband Eugene, Marietta, Ga.; one sister-in-law, Bonnie Wagner, McHenry; and two step-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., on Friday at 12 noon with the Rev. T.D. Higby officiating.
Interment will be in Davis Memorial Park, Uhl Highway, Cumberland.
NOVELLA E. GORDON
OLDTOWN - Novella Elizabeth Gordon, 84, formerly of 3612 Brevard St., Greensboro, N.C., and currently residing at 12215 Town Creek Road, SE, Oldtown, died Thursday, Sept. 16, 1999, at the home of her daughter.
Born Oct. 30, 1914, in North Wilkesboro, N.C., she was the daughter of the late James F. Dimmette and the late Julia (Holder) Dimmette. She was also preceded by her husband, James W. Gordon, on Dec. 10, 1987.
Mrs. Gordon was a retired employee of the Guilford Mills. She was a member of the Hickory Grove United Methodist Church in Greensboro, N.C.
Surviving are two daughters, Jody L. Buser and husband Donald F., Oldtown, and Betty Jean Crutchfield and husband James, Colfax, N.C.; a grandson; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Fannie Blevins, North Wilkesboro, N.C.; two half sisters, Louise Smith, Colfax, N.C., and Mary Ruth Slaydon, Colfax, N.C.; and a half brother, Sam J. Seawell, Greensboro, N..C.
Private visitation for family and friends will be held at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. The family will also receive friends on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home on 5900 High Point Road, Greensboro, N.C.
Services will be conducted on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home, Greensboro, N.C., with the Rev. Rick Church officiating.
Interment will be in Guildford Memorial Park near Greensboro, N.C.
