F. June (Herring) Cupp, 76, Friendsville, died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2000, at Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
Born April 3, 1923, in Hazelton, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Floyd Samuel Herring and Thelda Evelyn Livengood Frazee. She was also preceded in death by a half-brother, Johnny Ray Reckart, who died at birth.
She was the owner-operator of Cupp's Drive-In, Friendsville, from 1957 until 1980. She attended Grace Lutheran Church, Friendsville, and was a member of the WELCA. She also attended the ladies group at the Friendsville United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Robert E. Cupp; two daughters, Janice Marie Hileman, Friendsville, and Barbara Jean Livengood, Bruceton Mills, W.Va.; one stepson, Ronald E. Cupp, Albright, W.Va.; one brother, Delbert Reckart, Painesville, Ohio; one grandson; two step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.
Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Friendsville, where a service was conducted Tuesday, Feb. 29, with the Rev. Roland E. Nairn III officiating. Interment was in the Blooming Rose Cemetery.

JOSEPH D. DURST
Joseph Delbert Durst, 58, Grantsville, died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2000, at the Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville.
Born Feb. 21, 1942, in Frostburg, he was a son of the late Elmer C. and Gladys L. (Durst) Durst. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Myrna M. (Fisher) Durst, on April 12, 1979, and one brother, Thomas Durst.
He was a member of the Cherry Grove Church of the Brethren and was a 1960 graduate of Northern High School, Accident. He had been employed as a heavy equipment tire manager for Firestone Tire and Rubber Co., Charleston, W.Va.
Survivors include one son, Joseph David Durst, Orlando, Fla.; two daughters, Nancy Jo Fratz, Accident, and Jennifer Dawn Mullins, Clendenin, W.Va.; one brother, Dean Durst, Accident; two sisters, Patsy Pope, Springs, Pa., and Nancy Craig, Forest, Va.; and seven grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, where a service was conducted Monday, Feb. 28, with the Rev. Paul. H. Yoder officiating. Interment was in the Grantsville Cemetery.
CARL S. KLINK
Carl S. Klink, 79, Finzel, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born Oct. 16, 1920, in Finzel, he was a son of the late Leonard G. and Ruth May (Baker) Klink. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Robert Beryl Klink, and one sister, Mabel E. Klink.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he received the Purple Heart while serving in Europe during World War II. He retired from the Allegany County Transit Authority. He was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church and the Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Mildred (Swain) Klink; two sons, David C. Klink and Robert E. Klink, both of Finzel; and five grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Sowers Funeral Home, Frostburg. A service was conducted at the Emmanuel United Methodist Church on Tuesday, Feb. 29, with the Rev. Steven Lightner officiating. Interment was in the Emmanuel United Methodist Cemetery. Graveside military rites were accorded by members of Grantsville American Legion Post 214.
JAMES H. WEEKS SR.
James Harold Weeks Sr., 71, Oakland, died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2000, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland.
Born Nov. 29, 1928, in Garrett County, he was a son of the late Ira Wheat Weeks and Elma (Shaffer) Weeks. He was also preceded in death by two grandchildren.
He was a retired food service manager for the Cuppett-Weeks Nursing Home. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from the National Guard with many years of service. He was a life member of Post 10077 VFW and Post 71 American Legion. He was an alumnus of the FFA.
Survivors include his wife, Lula (Upole) Weeks; four daughters, Roxeann McCloud, Oakland, Naomi DeWitt, Bloomington, Vicki DeWitt, Oakland, and Tina Wolf, Baltimore; two sons, James H. Weeks Jr. and John W. Weeks, both of Oakland; three brothers, Donald Weeks Sr., Deer Park, Richard Weeks, Baltimore, and Walter Weeks, Mtn. Lake Park; four sisters, Betty Beckman, Mtn. Lake Park, Henrietta Mills, Ravenna, Ohio, Isabelle Schmitt, Oakland, and Eula Mae Antkievicz, Mechanicsville, Va.; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Durst Funeral Home, Oakland. A service was conducted at the Pleasant View Baptist Church on Wednesday, March 1, with the Rev. Wally Weeks officiating. Interment was in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
Military rites were accorded at the cemetery by members of local veterans organizations.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Southern Garrett County Rescue Squad.
MARY M. REINER
Mary M. Reiner, 84, of Williamstown, Pa., formerly of Garrett County, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000.
Surviving are her husband, John A. Reiner; four daughters, Carol A. Alexander Ruskin, Fla., Donna J. Cage, Oldtown, Joan M. Fields, Boiling Springs, Pa., and Eloise J. Whittaker, Boyds; two sons, John R. Reiner, Murrells Inlet, S.C., and Steven R. Reiner, Richmond, Va.; three sisters, Mae M. Simpson, Houston, Texas, Dorothy L. Schade, Harrisburg, Pa., and Phyllis E. Gardner, Sun City, Calif.; one brother, Luke J. Bowman, Oakland; one half-sister, Diana D. Garner, Cumberland; 13 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Services were held at the Dimon Funeral Home, Tower City, Pa., on Saturday, Feb. 26. Interment was in the Greenwood Cemetery, Tower City.
HAROLD E. RALEY
Harold E. "Woody" Raley, Meyersdale, Pa., died Tuesday, Feb. 29, 2000, at his home.
Born in Finzel, he was a son of the late Charles and Alma (Peck) Raley. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruth E. (Pentenbrink) Raley, in 1996.
He graduated from Meyersdale High School and the Pittsburgh Institute of Public Relations. He retired after many years as an appliance salesman with the Sears Roebuck Company. He also served in the U.S. military.
Survivors include two sons, Robert E. Raley Sr., Cresaptown, and Larry P. Raley, at home; one daughter, Debbie Bittinger, Winston-Salem, N.C.; one brother, Ralph Raley, Meyersdale; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, from 7 to 9 p.m. today, Thursday, and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday. A service will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday, March 4, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Harold McClay officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenville Cemetery, Pocahontas, Pa.
VAUDA B. MELLINGER
Vauda B. (Glotfelty) Mellinger, 96, Oakland, died Wednesday, March 1, 2000, at her home.
Born Oct. 21, 1903, in McHenry, she was a daughter of the late Calvin H. and Mary C. (Echard) Glotfelty. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, John F. Mellinger Sr.; one son, Harold O. Mellinger; two sisters, Nora Smith and Grace Groves; one brother, Levi Glotfelty; and one grand-daughter.
She was a retired private duty nurse and the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Survivors include three daughters, Mildred E. Crane, Oakland, Lois Williams, Baltimore, and Amelia C. Wolf, Deer Park; five sons, John F. Mellinger Jr. and Clarence L. Mellinger, both of Swanton, Calvin F. Mellinger, Loch Lynn, William D. Mellinger, Baltimore, and James E. Mellinger, Terra Alta, W.Va.; 25 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; 41 great-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-great-grand-children.
Friends will be received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday. A service will be conducted at the Loch Lynn Church of God on Saturday, March 4, at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Robert Fletcher and the Rev. Ivan Ackerman officiating. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery, North Glade.
Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service.

FRANCES M. STEMPLE
Frances Mae Stemple, 75, Aurora, W.Va., died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland.
Born March 24, 1924, in Weaverville, N.C., she was a daughter of the late Harve Lee and Rosa Mae (Burrell) Radford. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Garold Walter Stemple; one daughter; and one son.
She was a homemaker. She was affiliated with the Stemple Ridge United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Walter Stemple, Aurora, and James Stemple, Eglon; one daughter, Linda Mae Sutton, Cleveland, Ga.; six grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Aurora United Methodist Memorial Building. A service was conducted at the Stemple Ridge United Methodist Church on Saturday, Feb. 26, with the Rev. Joe Robinette officiating. Interment was in the Stemple Ridge Cemetery.
JULIA A. PAUGH
Julia Annabelle (Jackson) Paugh, 72, Elk Garden, W.Va., died Friday, April 21, 2000, at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser, W.Va.
Born March 9, 1928, in Elk Garden, she was a daughter of the late William and Violet (Sherwood) Jackson.
Survivors include her husband, John E. Paugh; one daughter, Rhonda Paugh, Elk Garden; one sister, Barbara Jean Paugh, Mtn. Lake Park; and one granddaughter.
Friends were received at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, Kitzmiller. A service was conducted at the Nethken Hill United Methodist Church on Monday, April 24, with the Rev. Donald E. Marple and the Rev. Byron Mayberry officiating. Interment was in the Kalbaugh Cemetery, Elk Garden.
JANE G. HILLEGAS
Jane G. Hillegas, 74, Salisbury, Pa., died Saturday, April 22, 2000, at her home.
Born July 5, 1925, in Rockwood, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Charles G. and Pauline (Haines) Gundrum. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Gale L. "Mike" Hillegas, on June 20, 1999; two sisters, Marian L. Black and Audrey Gundrum; and one brother, Charles F. Gundrum.
She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Salisbury, where she was a member of the choir, TTT Sunday School class, Christian Education Board, and served on the Consistory and as a Sunday School superintendent. She was a member of Tub Mill Arts Association, Meyersdale (Pa.) Medical Center Auxiliary, Salisbury American Legion Auxiliary, Salisbury Firemen's Auxiliary, Salisbury 500 Club, RSVP volunteer, tax aid volunteer, and she also arranged bus tours for Schrock's Sightseeing Tours.
She was retired from the Meyersdale Area School District, where she taught commercial courses, having also taught in the Salisbury-Elk Lick School District for a combined total of 27 years.
Survivors include one son, Terry M. Hillegas, Salisbury; one daughter, Kathryn H. Aumiller, Etters, Pa.; one brother, Eugene H. Gundrum, Pittsburgh; two sisters, Helen G. Sprout, Picture Rocks, Pa., and Kathryn G. Schaft, Somerset, Pa.; and four grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville. A service was conducted Tuesday, April 25, at St. John's United Church of Christ, Salisbury, with the Rev. Raymond Brown officiating. Interment was in the Salisbury Cemetery.

Clyde Richard Kitzmiller, 84, Elk Garden, W.Va., died Thursday, April 20, 2000, at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser, W.Va.
Born Jan. 20, 1916, in Grant County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Payton and Mary (Amtower) Kitzmiller.
He was a retired coal miner from Allegany Coal Company.
Survivors include his wife, Hannah (Junkins) Kitzmiller; two sons, Harold J. Kitzmiller and Dale W. Kitzmiller, both of Elk Garden; and three grandchildren.
