ROBERT R.L. EVERLY I
CUMBERLAND - Robert R.L. Everly I, 77, of Cumberland, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 1999, at Memorial Hospital.
Born May 7, 1921, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late James W. and Lottie A. (Crowfis) Everly. He was preceded in death by five brothers, James W. Everly Jr., Leo M. Everly, Ray T. Everly, Clarence F. Everly, and infant, Elmer Everly; three sisters, Mildred Mayhew, Viola Wagoner, and infant, Ruth Everly.
Mr. Everly served in the U.S. Army as private first class in the 3873rd Quartermaster Gasoline Supply Company from September 1942 through December 1945 in the South Pacific and Japan. He received a Good Conduct Medal and Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon, one Bronze Arrowhead Philippines, a Liberation Ribbon, and one Bronze Star World War II Victory Ribbon. He retired Sept. 10, 1981, from CSX (B&O;) Railroad. He served as president and vice president of the Firemen and Oilers Local, was a shop committeeman at the Bolt and Forge Shop, and a member of the V.F.W. Post #1411, and the American Legion Post #13.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years and 6« months, Lillian G. (Breighner) Everly; one son, Robert R.L. Everly II and wife, Ruth; an adopted son, Charles P. Everly and wife, Barbara; two daughters, Doris A. "Trudy"Burns and husband, Robert, Carolyn I. Everly, all of Cumberland; five grandsons, Charles P. Everly II, Robert A. Burns II and wife, Natalie, Allen "Rick"Burns, Robert R.L. Everly III, Carl W. Everly; and one granddaughter, Lisa A. Everly, all of Cumberland; two sisters, Catherine Hughes, Ruby Steppe, both of Cumberland; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Robert L. Nair officiating.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be grandsons.
Military honors will be accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
ROBERT W. EYLER
NAPLES, Fla. - Robert Wilson Eyler, a retired industrial chemist, died Monday, March 29, 1999, at the age of 80 in his home in Bentley Village, Naples.
Born in Gerlaw, Ill., Mr. Eyler attended public schools in Monmouth, Ill., and earned a B.S. degree in chemistry at Monmouth College and a Ph.D. in physical chemistry at the University of Illinois. He spent his professional career with Hercules Inc., beginning as a research chemist in Wilmington, Del., in 1943, then working at the Allegany Ballistics Laboratory near Cumberland, Md., and serving as plant manager for the Cellulose Products Division in Hopewell, Va. He retired from the company as vice-president of Hercules, Europe, in 1983.
Mr. Eyler then moved to Marco Island, Fla., where he was a member of the Civic Association, the Marco Island Rotary Club, and was chairman of the board of the Marco Island Hospital Association. He was an active member of the United Church of Marco Island, serving as church treasurer.
Mr. Eyler was an avid golfer and a member of the Marco Island Country Club. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Doris (Robinson); three sisters, Dorothy Arthur and Elizabeth Schroeder, Monmouth, and Mildred Hunter, Rushville, Ill.; a brother, Howard Eyler, Rushville, Ill.; three sons, John Robert, Gainesville, Fla., Richard Robinson, Littleton, Colo., James Wilson, Lawrenceville, Ga.; a daughter, Mary Etta King, Lexington, Mass.; and 10 grandchildren.

MILDRED G. GARLITZ
CUMBERLAND - Mildred Grace Garlitz, 78, of Cumberland, died Saturday, Oct. 9, 1999, at her son's home in Eckhart.
Born April 7, 1921, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Trevor and Emma (McKinney) Jones. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Joseph Garlitz, 1977; three sisters, Juanita Dean, Dorothy Hynes, Kathleen Marion; three brothers, Trevor Jones, William Jones, and George Jones.
Mrs. Garlitz was a former employee of Lions Manor Nursing Home where she was a registered nurse. She was a member of American Nurses Association.
Surviving are three sons, Charles Joseph Garlitz, Jr., and wife, Linda, Wiley Ford, W.Va., Larry Allen Garlitz and wife, Robyn, Howe, Texas, George William Garlitz and wife, Dee, Eckhart; a very dear niece, Mary E. "Tootsie" Wilhelm, Frostburg; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. George M. Harpold, officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland.
Pallbearers will be James Dean, Alvin Dean, Terry Dean, Butch Marion, George Marion, and Robert Marion.
ROSE M. FABBRI
ECKHART - Rose Mary "Rosie" Fabbri, 87, of the Lions Manor Nursing Home, Cumberland, formerly of Eckhart, died Wednesday, July 28, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born June 25, 1912, in Sharpsburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Frances (Bisigano) Rogano. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Olivio "Livi" Fabbri; a son, Lucindo Fabbri Sr.; and a grandson, Lucindo Fabbri Jr.
Mrs. Fabbri was a former seamstress at the Michael Berkowitz. Co. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Frostburg, and the Catholic Daughters of America.
Surviving are a daughter, Benilda Robertson and husband Dana, Eckhart; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Fabbri; a granddaughter, Vicki Warnick and husband Roger; two great-grandchildren, Jason and Cindy Warnick; a brother, Tony Rogano; a sister, Rachel Natolly; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Members of the Catholic Daughters of America will hold a memorial service that evening at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael's Catholic Church on Saturday at 10 a.m. with Msgr. Arthur Valenzano as celebrant.
Interment will be in St. Michael's Parish Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Roger Warnick, Jason Warnick, Jack Hudson, Joey Fabbri, Pete Wilhelm and John Frankenberry.
ROBERT W. GRABENSTEIN SR.
CUMBERLAND - Robert W. Grabenstein, Sr., 68, of Cumberland, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 1999, at his home, after a recent illness.
Born March 29, 1931, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Henry S. and Clara (Ruppert) Grabenstein.
Mr. Grabenstein was a retired masonry worker. He was a member of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Ellen Grabenstein; two sons, Robert W. Grabenstein, Jr., Cumberland, Richard Alan Grabenstein, at home; four sisters, Rita Sills and husband, Harold, Mary Llewellyn, Rosalie Robey and husband Murten, all of Cumberland, and Jean Niland, Woodbridge, Va.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Christian Wake service will be conducted Thursday at 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Friday at 9:30 a.m. with the Fr. Vernon Busch, O.F.M., Cap, as celebrant.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Cumberland.
Pallbearers will be Mike Grabenstein, Charles Grabenstein and Chris Zollner.
FRANCES M. FAGAN
BARTON - Frances Marlene Fagan, 64, of Creek Bottom Road, Barton, died Saturday, Jan. 9, 1999, at Hospice of Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born at Cumberland on Jan. 2, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Elwood Lease and Christina (Kyle) Lease Conrad. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Aloysius Zahorchak.
Surviving are her husband, Norman David Fagan; one son, Allan Zahorchak, Tampa, Fla.; several step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was a member of Barton United Methodist Church, and was a retired secretary.
Friends will be received on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, P.A., 8 E. Main St., Lonaconing.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the Barton United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Park and the Rev. Harold Malone officiating. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Barton.
EVELYN G. FALBORN
FARMINGDALE, N.Y. - Evelyn G. Falborn, 80, of Farmingdale, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 1999, in Farmingdale.
She was born on Aug. 7, 1918, in Brooklyn, and was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur J. Falborn.
Mrs. Falborn was a retired secretary and superintendent of Farmingdale public school system.
Surviving are her daughter, Darlene E. Herring and husband, Paul, LaVale, Md.; one granddaughter, Kimberly Lewis, Baltimore, Md.; and one grandson, Robbie Lewis, Frostburg, Md.
Services will be conducted at the McCourt and Trudden Funeral Home, Farmingdale, on Tuesday, Jan. 12, at 11 a.m.
Interment will be in Pinelawn Cemetery, Farmingdale.
