RANDOLPH LASHLEY
MOUNT SAVAGE - Randolph "Harmon" Lashley, 78, of 13120 Yellow Row Road, Mount Savage, died Thursday, June 3, 1999, at his residence.
Born Aug. 22, 1920, in Mount Savage, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Lillie (Norris) Lashley. His wife, Nellie (Snyder) Lashley, and four brothers, Milton, Charles, Benjamin and William Lashley, also preceded him in death.
Mr. Lashley was a retired brick setter for the Mount Savage Refractory. He was a member of the Mount Savage United Methodist Church, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 245, Cumberland.
Surviving are three daughters, Nancy Hampton and husband Carl, with whom he resided, Janet Friend and husband Floyd, Cresaptown, and Catherine Chaney and husband Donald, Stoystown, Pa.; a son, Elwood Lashley Sr. and wife Donna, Mount Savage; eight sisters, Mary D. Lashley, Lillie M. Ashley and Leona Felker and husband Clarence, all of Mount Savage, Pluma M. Dom, Wellersburg, Pa., Sarah A. Friend, Cresaptown, Betty Zimmerman and husband Frank, Solon, Ohio, Ruth Harden and husband John, Whitesboro, N.Y., and Etta Malloy, Savage; two brothers, Robert Lashley and wife Ruth, Frostburg, and Elmer Lashley and wife Shirley, Cumberland; a sister-in-law, Betty G. Lashley, Mount Savage; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and best friend, Jimmy "Dingle" Frankenberry.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Saturday from 2:30 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Richard C. Broome Jr. officiating.
Interment will be in the Methodist Cemetery, Mount Savage.
Pallbearers will be James Lashley, Richard Blank, Dale Friend, Larry Snyder, Robert Butler and Dave Felker. Honorary pallbearer will be Austin "Pete" Blank.
The family requests memorials be directed to the Sacred Heart Hospice Home Care Unit.
MABEL M. LEWIS
CUMBERLAND - Mabel M. Lewis, 90, of Allegany County Nursing Home, Cumberland, died Monday, May 10, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Sept. 5, 1908, in Altoona, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Harry B. and Penelope (Connelly) Cordes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Lewis; a daughter, Mary Margaret Lewis; a son-in-law, Glenn Loar; and a sister, Florence Snyder.
Mrs. Lewis was a member of the Cresaptown United Methodist Church.
She is survived by six children, Shirley Loar, Loartown, Charles Lewis and wife, Betty, Corriganville, Richard Lewis and wife, Pat, Brookpark, Ohio, Margaret Sanders and husband, Ray, Eastlake, Ohio, Martha Albanese and husband, John, Wickcliffe, Ohio, and Robert Lewis and wife, Becky, Mentor, Ohio; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
Friends will be received in the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, 1302 National Highway, LaVale, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Harold R. McClay Jr. officiating.
Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Burial Park.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Brent Croston, Gary Croston, Glenn Loar Jr., Tom Bolt, Dominic Albanese and John A. Albanese.

MARY T. JENKINS
CUMBERLAND - Mary Theresa Jenkins, 78, of Willow Valley Apartments, Cumberland, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1999, at the Allegany County Nursing Home.
Born Sept. 21, 1921, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late John A. and Veronica (Miller) Nies. She also was preceded in death by two husbands, John R. Fogle, who died May 10, 1981, and Joseph Jenkins, who died April 30, 1996; two brothers, Edward Nies and John Nies; and one sister, Angela Nies Thibdeau.
Mrs. Jenkins was a homemaker. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Centre Street, Cumberland.
Surviving are two sons, George W. Fogle and wife Shirley, and Raymond L. Fogle and wife JoyLou, all of Cumberland; five grandchildren, Terry Fogle Lederer and husband Charles, Herndon, Va., Shawn Fogle, Cumberland, Aaron Fogle, Alpine, Ariz., Cindy Firlie and husband Bruce, Cumberland, and Eric Fogle and wife Chris, Johnstown, Pa.; four great-grandchildren, Luke and Daniel Firlie and Ashley and Lindsay Lederer; one sister, Henrietta Delmonico, Cranston, R.I.; and a beloved cousin, Margaret Winner, Mount Savage.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home Friday at 9 a.m. with the Rev. Stephen Sweyko officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Eric and Shawn Fogle, along with Mark Nies and Charles Lederer.

ARLETTA V. LEASE
DURHAM, N.C. - Arletta V. Ours Lease, age 81, of Durham, and formerly of Cumberland, Md., died Monday, April 12, 1999, at Hillhaven-Rose Manor, Durham.
Born Feb. 27, 1918, in Petersburg, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Clarence E. and Arletta (Crites) Ours.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Lease, in 1985; two sisters, Lola Ours and Wilda Ruth Belt; two brothers, Carl Ours and Archie Ours.
Mrs. Lease moved to Cumberland in the early 1950s. She later retired from Memorial Hospital in Cumberland. She was a member of Grace Methodist Church, Cumberland.
She is survived by one daughter, Linda (Hedrick) Barr, Durham; one grandson, John Derek Barr, U.S. Air Force, Japan; five stepsons, Carroll Lease, Romney, W.Va., Jack Lease, Phoenix, Ariz., Colin Lease, Toledo, Iowa, Jerry Lease, Marshalltown, Iowa, and Larry Lease, Rochester, N.Y.; one brother, Leland Ours, Petersburg, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at the Schaeffer Funeral Home, Petersburg, on Thursday, April 15, with the Rev. Richard L. Longbon officiating.
Interment was in the South Branch Valley Memorial Gardens, Petersburg.
GWENDOLYN M. LACASPER
CUMBERLAND - Gwendolyn Mae LaCasper, 76, of Cumberland, died Monday, Nov. 22, 1999, at the Cumberland Nursing Center.
Born Nov. 4, 1923, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Howard Wilson Sr. and Neva Pearl (Rieger) Wilson.
Surviving are one son, Clarence Clites Jr. and wife Goldie, Omaha, Neb.; three daughters, Linda Eck and husband Bernie, Fort Smith, Ariz., Shirley Gates and husband Jack, Mount Joy, Pa., and Wanda Leipart and fiancé Doug Hiett, Cumberland; one brother, Earle Wilson, LaPorte, Colo.; two sisters, Esther L. Welsh, Hyndman, Pa., and Josephine MacMannis, LaVale, and one sister-in-law with whom she resided, Joan Wilson.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Tom Landaker officiating.
Interment will be in the Zion Memorial Park.
RUTH C. KING
LAVALE - Ruth Catherine King, 61, of Harold St., LaVale, died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born on Oct. 22, 1937, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Arthur C. and Helen (Deter) Wickard.
Mrs. King was a member of the Frostburg Eagles Ladies Auxiliary and the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors are her husband William T. King; one son, Paul D. Brown, Jr., of Manassas, Va.; one sister, Marlene Lewis, Frostburg; two brothers, Roy Wickard and Louie Wickard, both of Cumberland; many nieces and nephews including; James R. Lewis, Cleveland, Ohio, and Diane Hamilton, Cumberland, of whom she raised; two grandchildren; David and Josh Brown, both of Manassas, Va.
Friends will be received in the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, 1302 National Hwy., LaVale, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, Sept. 7, 1999, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Harold T. Shaffer officiating.
Interment will follow in the Maryland State Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap.
