ESTHER E. LEPLEY
CORRIGANVILLE - Esther Elizabeth Lepley, 92, of Corriganville, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 1999, at the Frostburg Village Nursing Home.
Born Aug. 16, 1907, in Corriganville, she was the daughter of the late Samuel William Garey and the late Susan (Geiger) Garey. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Lepley in 1980; and one brother, George S. Garey.
Mrs. Lepley was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, a 50-year plus member of Cumberland Chapter #56 O.E.S., Ladies Aid of the church, and former member of the Corriganville Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary.
Surviving are one daughter, Sue Ann Dye and a very special son-in-law, William E. Dye, Barton; three sisters, Leona Crabtree, Corriganville, Frances Hite, Corriganville, and Mary Lee Golden and husband Homer, Corriganville; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m.
Services will be conducted at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Steven Craft officiating.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Burial Park.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The New Horizons Unit at Frostburg Village Nursing Home, Kaylor Circle, Frostburg, MD 21532.
Pallbearers will be Terry Golden, Jeff Brotemarkle, Patrick King, Pat King, Gary Hite, Richard Rossworm and Logan King. Honorary pallbearers will be Homer Golden, William Matthews, Paul Poorbaugh, Wolverton DeLoss Murphy, John Wolfe Sr., and Robert Emerick.
WILDA MAE HOOVER
GRANTSVILLE - Wilda Mae Hoover, 66, of 53 HR Lane, Grantsville, died Sunday, Feb. 21, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born Feb. 19, 1933, in Jennings, she was a daughter of the late Newton and Effie (Miller) Bittinger. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Hoover, in 1988.
Mrs. Hoover attended Maranatha Assembly of God, and was a member of Woodmen of the World, Camp 41, Grantsville. She was a retired presser with Flushing Shirt Manufacturing Company, and was a member of Union Local #673.
Survivors include a son, Oliver Hoover and wife, Vickie; and a daughter, Melva Hoover, both of Grantsville; and four grandchildren, Nancy, Brandon, Justin and Cody.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., Grantsville, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted in the funeral home on Wednesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Joseph Snodgrass officiating.
Interment will be in Johnson Cemetery.
HALLIE T. LEIGHTON
OAKLAND - Hallie T. Leighton, 87, of Oakland, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, Sept. 5, 1999, at Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home, Oakland.
Born Dec. 5, 1911, near White Church, she was a daughter of the late Scott and Lucinda (Hamill) Harvey. She also was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Floyd B. Leighton, on March 15, 1988; one step-grandson, Greg Weiss; one brother; and five sisters.
Mrs. Leighton was a homemaker, beloved mother, and a former member of the Youghiogheny Glades Chapter DAR.
Surviving are her loving daughter, Carolyn Ann Flude and husband Richard, New Stanton, Pa.; one stepson, Floyd O. Leighton and wife Delores, Enterprise, Ala.; one stepdaughter, Margaret Wolf and husband Bob, Nokomis, Fla.; one sister, Dorthea Scanlon, Kingwood, W.Va.; three grandchildren, David Flude, Jaci Kriner, and Jeff Flude and wife Tonya; five great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Durst Funeral Home, Oakland, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Robert Fisher officiating.
Interment will be in the Oakland Cemetery.
The family suggests that memorials take the form of contributions to the Garrett County Historical Society.
CARL F. HAGER
FROSTBURG - Carl F. Hager, 70, of Tennants Lane, Frostburg, died Thursday, July 15, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born June 13, 1929, in Zihlman, he was the son of Edna (Lashbaugh) Hager, resident of St. Vincent de Paul Nursing Home, and the late Frank J. Hager.
Mr. Hager was retired from Allegany Ballistics Laboratory. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Salem United Church of Christ.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife, Jacqueline "Jackie" (Brant) Hager; two sons, Carl R. "Rick" Hager and wife, Janet, Midlothian, Randall W. Hager and wife, Debbie, Orrtanna, Pa.; four daughters, Robin Burner, Finzel, Kimberly Eckhart and husband, Mark, Lake Charles, La., Cindy Harrison and husband, Mike, Frostburg, and Penny Lewis, Finzel; nine grandchildren; and one sister, Shirley Miller and husband, Earl, Finzel.
Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., 60 W. Main St., Frostburg, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Lawrence A. Neumark officiating.
Interment will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Graveside military rites will be accorded by American Legion Farrady Post #24.
YALE S. LEWINE
ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Yale Sander Lewine of Rochester, formerly of Cumberland, died Aug. 5, 1999, in Rochester.
Mr. Lewine was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah.
He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Arlene and Lee Pollan, 4 Millstone Court, Pittsford. N.Y.; Paula and Jerold Gruebel, Springfield, Ill.; four grandchildren; two brothers; three sisters and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Sunday, Aug. 8, at 4 p.m. in the Agudath Achim Cemetery, Altoona, Pa. Friends wishing may contribute to Hadassah, c/o 289 Sandringham Road, Rochester, NY 14610, or Chabad Lubavitch, 1037 S. Winton Rd., Rochester, NY 14618, in his memory.

ROY H. JONES
WESTERNPORT - Roy H. Jones, 78, of 145 Church St., Westernport, died Monday, March 22, 1999, at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser, W.Va.
Born Oct. 6, 1920, at Kitzmiller, he was the son of the late Charles and Nannie (Smith) Jones. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Eugenia (Nasser) Jones, in 1992.
Mr. Jones was retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He was a U.S. Army Air Force Veteran of World War II. He was a member of Victory Post #155 American Legion, Westernport, and a member of Aubrey-Stewart V.F.W., Piedmont, W.Va. Mr. Jones was Presbyterian by faith.
He is survived by a daughter, Mary Lou Quinn and husband, Don, Westernport; a sister, Irene Strickler, Frostburg; two grandchildren, Don Scott Quinn and Jennifer Quinn, Westernport; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday, March 25, at 11 a.m. with Father James Hannon officiating.
Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Westernport, with full military honors accorded at graveside by the combined veterans organizations.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Peter's School, Westernport.
