ALICE HENNY FRIEDA HEISE
OAKLAND - Alice Henny Frieda Heise, age 93, of Oakland, died Saturday, May 29, 1999, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland.
She was born Nov. 27, 1905, in Hamburg, Germany. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gustav A. Heise.
Surviving are one son, Helmuth M. Heise, Oakland; one daughter, Doris J. Smith, also of Oakland; one sister, Klara Wollin, North Hills, Calif.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Durst Funeral Home, Oakland, on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at St. Mark's Lutheran Church on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Vicar Doug Knupp officiating.
Interment will be in Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
LILLIE M. LASHLEY
MOUNT SAVAGE - Lillie M. Lashley, 67, of 13010 Yellow Row Road, Mount Savage, died Friday, Sept. 24, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born June 9, 1932, in Mount Savage, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Lillie (Norris) Lashley. She also was preceded in death by five brothers, Milton, Charles, Benjamin R., William and Randolph Lashley.
Ms. Lashley taught at the East Side School, Cumberland, for 30 years and retired after teaching at the Mount Savage School for 10 years.
She was a 1950 graduate of Beall High School and was the class Valedictorian. In 1954, she graduated from Frostburg State College.
She was a member of the Mount Savage United Methodist Church where she served on the administration board, was a member of the United Methodist Women, and for more than 50 years beginning in her junior year in high school taught Sunday school at the church. She volunteered her service at the Allegany County Health Department, the SHARE program - registration and distribution, and the Volunteer Reading Program in public schools, and worked the Friday night dinners at the Mount Savage Volunteer Fire Company.
She also was a member of the National Congress of Parents and Teachers Association, Allegany County Teachers Association, Maryland State Teachers Association, National Teachers Association, and the Mount Savage Alumni Association.
Surviving are seven sisters, Mary Lashley, with whom she resided, Leona Felker and husband Clarence, Mount Savage, Pluma M. Donn, Wellersburg, Pa., Sara A. Friend, Cresaptown, Etta Malloy, Savage, Betty Zimmerman and husband Frank, Solon, Ohio, and Ruth Harden and husband John, Whitesboro, N.Y.; two brothers, Robert Lashley and wife, Ruth, Frostburg, and Elmer Lashley and wife Shirley, Cumberland; a sister-in-law, Betty G. Lashley, Mount Savage; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Sunday from 2:30 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Richard Broome Jr. and the Rev. George Harpold officiating.
Interment will be in the Mount Savage Methodist Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the Sacred Heart Hospice Care Unit or to the Mount Savage Volunteer Fire Company.
RUTH HEISEY
STEVENSVILLE - Ruth (Tower) Peck Heisey, 98, residing with her granddaughter in Stevensville, formerly of Beaver Center, Pa., and Cumberland, died Friday, Jan. 8, 1999, in Bowie.
Mrs. Heisey was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Cumberland.
Surviving are two daughters, Jean Schmidt and husband Lawrence, Charlotte, N.C., and Nedra P. Evans and husband Paul, Bowie; a stepson, Robert V. Heisey, New York City; two sisters, Mrs. Walter (Bernice) Evans, Athens, Ga., and Betty Terrill, Childersburg, Ala.; six grandchildren; three step-granddaughters; eight great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be conducted at the Jean Evans Thompson Funeral Home, East Springfield, Pa., on Saturday, Jan. 16, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Tim Ferguson of the West Springfield Baptist Church officiating.
Burial will follow at Beaver Center Cemetery.
NATALIE J. HELLER
ORTONVILLE, Mich. - Natalie Jean Heller, 75, longtime resident of Cumberland, died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 1999, at the Mcadowbrooke Nursing Center, Rochester, Mich.
Mrs. Heller was preceded in death by her husband, Robert V. Heller, Sr., and one grandchild, Mark Coffman.
Surviving are her three children, Jeannie Reynaert, Utica, Mich., Robert V. Heller, Jr., Ortonville, Mich., and Blaine F. Heller, Cumberland; seven grandchildren, Frank Coffman, Marrianna, Fla., Micheal Coffman, Oldtown, Victor Zagorski, Utica, Mich., Jennifer Durrett, Kristine Heller, Audrey Heller, Ortonville, Mich., and Kaitlyn Heller, Cumberland; five great-grandchildren, Megan, Brittany, Robert, Nicolas, Olivia; and one sister, Rosalie Jones, of Salt Lake City, Utah.
As per Mrs. Hellers request no services will be held. Please send any donations to the American Lung Association, in her memory.
Interment will be at the Rest Lawn Memorial cemetery at a later date.
NATALIE J. HELLER
CUMBERLAND - Natalie J. Heller, 75, formerly of 217 Memorial Ave.,ext., Cumberland, died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 1999, at Meadowbrooke Nursing Center, Rochester, Mich.
Her son, Blaine Heller, of Cumberland, wishes to acknowledge a special friend to his mother, Linda Oster.
A memorial service will be conducted at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Wednesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Richard Ketterman, officiating.
HELEN S. HELMER
CUMBERLAND - Helen Schaidt Helmer, 90, of 635 Washington St., Cumberland, died Monday, Dec. 13, 1999, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Sept. 15, 1909, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Henry W. and Agnes (Sanders) Schaidt. She also was preceded in death by her husband, L. Leslie Helmer; and one brother, John W. Schaidt.
Mrs. Helmer was the first office manager at Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church, a life member of the Allegany County Historical Society, and had belonged to the Women's Civic Club of Cumberland.
Surviving are one son, L. Leslie Helmer Jr., Charleston, S.C.; one daughter, Elizabeth Pfiffner, Winston-Salem, N.C.; one sister, Jane Robb, Cumberland; and two grandchildren, John Karl Pfiffner and Elizabeth Pfiffner, both of Winston-Salem.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
A graveside service will be held at the Rose Hill cemetery on Wednesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Edward C. Chapman officiating.
Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery.

CHARLOTTE K. LEASE
WESTERNPORT - Charlotte K. Lease, 81, of 428 Hammond St., Westernport, died Thursday, June 17, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born Nov. 5, 1917, at Cross, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Andy and Sophie (Bon) Kantor. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Angelo J. Lease, in 1988; by two brothers, Ambrose Kantor, Joseph Kantor; and one sister, Isabelle Davis.
Mrs. Lease was the former owner of the Tri-Towns Cut Rate, Piedmont, W.Va.
Surviving her are two sons, Michael Lease, John Lease and wife, Karen, all of Westernport; one daughter, Karla Delawder and husband, John, Keyser, W.Va; three sisters, Emma Kasimere, Keyser, Sophie Winters, Barton, Esther Sigler, Bethesda; two grandchildren, Jeremy Lease and Shawn Delawder.
The family will receive friends at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Saturday, June 19, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday, June 20, at 3 p.m. with the Rev. James Hannon as officiant.
Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Westernport.
