JOHN J. JONES SR.
CUMBERLAND - John (Hop) James Jones Sr., 65, of 11400 Brown Hill Road NE, Cumberland, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Nov. 17, 1934, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Charles Raymond Jones and Estella Virginia "Bloss" Jones. He also was preceded in death by two sisters, Evelyn Troutman and Marie Elfritz.
Mr. Jones Sr. was a self-employed salvage yard operator of Jones' Junk Yard.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth Mae Jones, Cumberland; two sons, John J. Jones Jr., and Brian K. Jones, both of Cumberland; two daughters, Debra M. Wolfe and husband Bob, and Sonja K. Crawford and husband Ronnie, both of Cumberland; one brother, Raymond E. "Punkey" Jones, Cumberland; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Florence E. Shewbridge officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
MARY M. HENDRICKS
RIVIERA BEACH - Mary Margaret Fleming Hendricks, beloved mother of Mary Ann Hendricks of Norfolk, Va., and Daniel Hendricks, Glen Burnie, passed away on Feb. 12, 1999, at her home in Riviera Beach. She was 67 years old.
She is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Laurie, and granddaughter, Chelsie.
A Registered Nurse for the Maryland State Health Department, Anne Arundel County, Mary Margaret retired in 1997. She was enjoying her retirement in her garden, and with family and friends.
Mary Margaret was the daughter of Austin Fleming and Agnes Kenney Fleming of Ridgeley, W.Va.
Surviving family members include Pauline Fleming Laudenslager, Baltimore, Jane Fleming Stern, Ridgeley, Phil Fleming, Portland, Ore.; and other cousins.
A service was held on Tuesday morning in Pasadena.
Burial service will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Cumberland, at 2 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon.
Donations may be made in her memory to breast cancer research.
Special thanks are given to the medical staff at St. Agnes Cancer Center in Baltimore.
Mary Margaret will be deeply missed by her children, family and friends.
SHARON W. KISH
CHESTERFIELD, Va. - Sharon White Kish, 50, of Chesterfield, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 1999, after a long struggle with cancer.
Born in Cumberland, Md., she was the daughter of the late Fanny Wilson White and Kenneth White of Washington, Iowa.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband, Richard; sons, Kevin, Andrew, Ryan and Derek; and sister, Sandra Kay White of Phoenix.
She was a graduate of Coshocton High School in Coshocton, Ohio, and attended Ohio State University in the School of Social Work. While raising her four sons, she dedicated many hours as a volunteer for various charitable organizations. She was a devoted care-giver to others, a member of the Religious Society of Friends, and a life-long ballet and jazz dancer.
In April of this year, she participated in a relief mission to Honduras with the organization, Bless the Children.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, Nov. 20, at 3 p.m. at the Friend's Meeting of Richmond, 4500 Kensington Ave., Richmond, Va.
In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted for the organization Pronino, 1498 Old Oaks Lane, Crozier, VA 23039, benefiting Honduran street children.
LONNIE J. KUHN
OAKLAND - Dr. Lonnie J. Kuhn, DDS, 55, of Sanders Lane, Oakland, died Saturday, Jan. 3, 1999, at the Cuppett-Weeks Nursing Home, Oakland.
Born May 5, 1943, in Mount Storm, W.Va., he was the son of Mildred (Pennington) Kuhn, of Mount Storm, and the late Leon H. Kuhn.
He was a member of the Oak Park Church of the Brethren.
Dr. Kuhn graduated from the Bayard (W.Va.) High School and from West Virginia University with a degree in chemistry. He was employed by VEPCO as a chemist prior to graduating from the WVU School of Dentistry in 1977. He practiced with Dr. Alvin Friend until December 1979, and was employed by the State of West Virginia at the Mineral County Health Department until he became ill and retired in 1996. He was awarded a Certificate of Commendation by the Dental Section of the West Virginia Public Health Association in recognition of his outstanding leadership, support and dedication to the principles of public health dentistry and the children of West Virginia.
He opened his own practice in December 1979 in Oakland on Liberty Street. In April 1986, he relocated to Memorial Drive and practiced there until his health deteriorated in November 1996.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Kimberly A. (Sanders) Kuhn; three brothers, Tom L. Kuhn, Oakland, Don E. Kuhn, Mount Storm, and Ron G. Kuhn, Petersburg, W.Va.; his maternal grandmother, Leona Pennington, Oakland; one stepsister, Shirley Anthony, Gormania, W.Va.; three nieces, Abbi Anthony, Sarah Kuhn and Candice Anthony; and one nephew, Rudy Anthony.
Friends will be received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Oak Park Church of the Brethren on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1999, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Mel Menker officiating.
Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the services.
Interment will be in the Mount Storm Cemetery.

JOHN D. JACKSON
FLINTSTONE - John Dennis Jackson, 58, of Flintstone, died Tuesday, April 6, 1999, in Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Oct. 1, 1940, in Baltimore. He was the son of Robert B. Jackson, Owings Mills, and the late Margaret Annaz (Leach) Jackson.
Mr. Jackson was a correctional officer having worked at WCI in Cresaptown and was a Vietnam Veteran serving with the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include his wife, Donna K. (Stapleton) Jackson; children, Sheila Carter of McSherrystown, Pa.; John Dennis Jackson Jr., of Frostburg; and Shannon Marie Jackson of Cumberland; seven grandchildren; brothers, Ernest Glenn Jackson of Hamstead and Robert G. Jackson of Manchester and a sister, Roberta Boblits of Reistertown.
At Mr. Jackson's request his body will be cremated. There will be no public visitation.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, April 9, 1999, in the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, 1302 National Highway, LaVale, at 3 p.m. with Father Milton Hipsley officiating.

CUMBERLAND - James A. Klahre, 54, of Cumberland, died Sunday, May 23, 1999, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Sept. 2, 1944, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Robert Donald and Lettie Virginia (Conner) Klahre.
He was preceded in death by his twin, John Klahre; another brother, Charles Klahre; one sister, Jean McGee; and a special aunt who helped raise him, Bertie Bittner.
Mr. Klahre was formerly employed for Albert Cook and Sons and the Bricklayers Local #6.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia Mae (Brown) Klahre; one son, Rick Klahre and wife Melea, Cumberland; four stepchildren, Ken Lowery and wife Jeannette, Salisbury, Pa., Shelley Hosselrode and husband Alvin, Kennels Mill, Pa., Robin Boyer and husband Donald, Cumberland, and Diane Lowery, Cumberland; four brothers, Bill Klahre and wife Thelma, Halifax, Pa., Paul Klahre and friend Donna, Berkeley Springs, W.Va., Frank Klahre and wife Mary, Martinsburg, W.Va., and Terry Klahre, Martinsburg, W.Va.; two sisters, Grace Shiley, Wisconisco, Pa., and Margie Sines, Meyersdale, Pa.; a special aunt who helped raise him, Mildred King, Ellerslie; two grandchildren, Alexandra and Rachel Klahre; 10 step-grandchildren, Ken Jr and Amanda Lowery, Adam and Shana Hosselrode, Donnie Jr., Jeremy and Kody Boyer, Chante Woods, Ebonie Carroll and Tyler Smallwood; and a special cousin, Karen Thompson.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor John R. Herbst officiating.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale.
