ROBERT W. KOELKER
CUMBERLAND - Robert Walter "Bob" Koelker Sr., 73, of 158 Bedford St., Cumberland, died Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999 at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born July 31, 1925 in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Joseph H. Koelker and the late Ada (Layman) Koelker. He also was preceded in death by four sisters, Imogene Stiles, Marie McGlinchey, Doris May and Betty Lou Whitford; and one brother, Charles "Jake" Koelker.
Mr. Koelker was retired from PPG Industry as a glass cutter. He was a member of VFW Post 1411 Henry Hart. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy in World War II and the Korean War, serving as a Radioman 3rd Class from 1943 to 1946. He played City Rec League and Rocking Chair League softball. He was a member of Destroyer Escort.
Surviving are a wife, Mary U. (Nies) Koelker of Cumberland; two sons, Robert "Bobby" Koelker Jr. and wife Tracy, Cumberland and Terry Koelker and wife Jeanne, Zeeland, Mich.; two daughters, Kathryn Darr and husband Danny, Cumberland, and Kimberly Stafford and husband Joseph, Cumberland; a brother, Joseph "Joe" Koelker, Cumberland; a sister, Sandy Crosten of Cash Valley Road, LaVale; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Father Thomas R. Bevan officiating.
Interment will be in the Maryland State Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap on Wednesday at 3 p.m. Military honors will be accorded at graveside by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
MARGARET ``LOUISE'' KNICK
CUMBERLAND - Margaret ``Louise'' Knick, 80, of Cumberland, died Monday, April 26, 1999, at Washington Hospital Center, Washington, D.C.
Born April 15, 1919, in Mount Savage, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Lavania (Koontz) Herring. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, John and Neff Herring; and two sisters, Audrey Carpenter and Laura Holmes.
Mrs. Knick was a homemaker and a beloved mother.
Surviving are her husband, Arthur H. Knick; beloved children, Robert E. Engelbach and wife, Melva, Cumberland, Kenneth M. Engelbach and wife, Terry, Paso Robles, Calif., Clarence R. Engelbach and wife, Diane, Cumberland, James E. Knick and wife, Patti, Mechanicsville, and Cynthia M. Schurr, Sarasota, Fla.; two sisters, Janet Cassell, Cumberland, and Betty Bailey, Clinton; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home Saturday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Richard H. Jewell officiating.
Interment will be in Davis Memorial Cemetery, Cumberland.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Robert Engelbach Jr., Colin Engelbach, Kenneth Engelbach, Anthony Engelbach, Michael Knick, Roy Engelbach, Jeffrey Williams, Jason Knick and Daniel Knick.
Honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters, Karen Davis, Cristie Braemer and Jennifer Williams.
RUTH LAVERNE LIVENGOOD
CATONSVILLE - Ruth LaVerne Livengood, 72, of Catonsville, formerly of Cumberland, died Friday, June 11, 1999, at her residence.
Born Nov. 6, 1926, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Edward A. and Eva Naomi (Carter) Roby. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Donald M. Livengood; and two brothers, Franklin B. "Bud" Carter and Robert E. Roby.
Mrs. Livengood was a retired registered nurse at Spring Grove State Hospital and the Kennedy Center at Johns Hopkins Hospital. She was a graduate of Fort Hill High School and the University of Maryland School of Nursing, where she received her bachelor of science degree in Nursing. She was a member of St. Mark's Catholic Church in Catonsville, and the Soroptimist Club in Baltimore.
Surviving are one daughter, Naomi Jean Faulkner and husband, Elwood, Bowling Green; three grandsons, Charles D. Dicken, Bowling Green, William E. Dicken and wife, Stephanie, and their children, Billy and Bethanie, Cresaptown, Daniel E. Faulkner, Bowling Green; and two brothers, John E. Roby, Little Orleans, and William A. Roby and wife, Bonnie, Ridgeley, W.Va. At Mrs. Livengood's request her body will be cremated.
There will be no visitation.
A memorial mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Vance Pastorius, O.F.M., Cap. as celebrant.
The family requests that contributions be made to the National Federation of the Blind, 1800 Johnson St., Baltimore, MD 21230.

ARNETT D. HERNDON
OLDTOWN - Arnett Dayton Herndon, 73, of Oldtown, died Saturday, Dec. 4, 1999, at Veterans Hospital, Washington, D.C.
Born on Oct. 25, 1926, in Buchannon, W.Va., he was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Josephine (Knight) Herndon, on Dec. 19, 1985.
Mr. Herndon was a retired maintenance engineer at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Washington, D.C. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and a lifetime member of Oldtown V.F.W. Clifford B. Sisler Post 9451.
Surviving are three sons, William A. Herndon and wife, Judy, Mechanicsville, Larry W. Herndon and wife, Evelyn, Lothian, Charles W. Herndon and wife, Elaine, Oldtown; one brother, Russell P. Herndon and wife, Margie, Bryantown; two sisters, Nellie Kniceley, Buchannon, Willie Bennett and husband, Bunk, Weston, W.Va.; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

EVELYN L. LILLARD
CUMBERLAND - Evelyn Louise Lillard, 85, of 220 Sommerville Ave., Cumberland, died Sunday, Aug. 29, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Oct. 26, 1913, in Punxsutawney, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Edward A. Haese and the late Maud (Neville) Haese. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Harry Lillard, on Aug. 13, 1989; one daughter, Virginia (Ginger) Hupfer on July 3, 1999, in Bowie, Md.; a sister, Violet Clites; and one brother, Russell Haese.
Mrs. Lillard was a homemaker and a devoted member for fifty plus years of Kingsley United Methodist Church, having served many capacities. She was active with the youth groups, she visited the shut-ins, a member of the choir, the Faithful Workers Bible Class, Sunday School teacher, and served on the administrative board. In previous years, she was a lay member representative of Kingsley at the annual Methodist Conference in Washington, D.C. Also served as secretary of United Methodist Women. She was a past member of the Order of Eastern Star and East Side School cooks club. As a young woman, she studied cosmetology and worked for several years as a beautician. She also volunteered with Meals on Wheels in the Cumberland area.
After the death of her husband, she resided with her daughter in Frostburg before moving to Booth Towers, where she enjoyed participating in their activities. She also was active in the Booth Towers Choir. She had been named resident of the month for Aug. 1999. She was an active participant at the Cumberland Senior Center where she enjoyed cards and social activities with her friends.
Surviving are her two daughters, Jeanne E. Hennessy, Silver Spring, Md., (the former Jeanne E. Hopcraft of Frostburg); Carole Lillard Clancy, Bowie, Md.; and grandsons, Patrick Clancy of Fairfax, Va.; Mark Clancy, Charleston, S.C.; Daniel Hupfer, Bowie, Md. She was also close to her nieces, Norma Schade and Linda Trost both of Cumberland, and Ronnie Tucker, Indian Mound, TN.

Services will be conducted on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Kingsley United Methodist Church, 248 Williams St. with the Rev. Richard Jewell officiating. Friends will also be received at the church on Wednesday at 9 a.m.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Burial Park.
SUZANNE KASECAMP
FROSTBURG - Suzanne (Rupp) Kasecamp, 68, of Frostburg, died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Jan. 10, 1930, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late Elmer Rupp and Eleanor (Myers) Rupp.
Mrs. Kasecamp was a retired employee from the State of Maryland Social Services, and was a graduate of Beall High School, Class of 1947.
Surviving are one son, Wayne and wife Barbara, Bel Air; one daughter, Nancy Shaffer and husband Russell, Frostburg; and three grandchildren, Jennifer, Christopher and Lindsey Kasekamp.
Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., 60 W. Main St., Frostburg, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. T. William Preston officiating.
Interment will be in the German Lutheran Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Patterson, Dick Robertson, Christopher Kasecamp, Harold "Sonny" Kyle, James Brailer, Mike Griffith and Arnett Jackson.
