DALE M. HALLER
BALTIMORE - Dale Martin Haller, 74, of Baltimore, formerly of Essex, died Monday, May 3, 1999, at his home.
Born April 7, 1925, in Parsons, W.Va., he was the son of the late Ray O. and Wilma (Murphy) Haller. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Doris Gerbing Slider Haller, in 1990.
Mr. Haller was retired from the Glen L. Martin Corporation in Baltimore. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was Methodist by faith and a member of the American Legion and V.F.W., Essex.
Surviving are five sisters, Billie Carol Haller Gibson and husband, Richard, Doretta Jean Haller Gibson and husband, Robert, Rachel Ann Haller Pingley and husband, Kenneth, Geneva Ruth Haller Irwin, Nancy Ellen Haller, all of Elkins, W.Va.; and one brother, Joe Ray Haller, Red Lion, Pa.
Friends will be received at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., Cresaptown, Friday from 10 to 11 a.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., Cresaptown, Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Harold R. McClay Jr. officiating.
Interment will be in Davis Memorial Cemetery, Cumberland.
RAYMOND W. HAMILTON
CUMBERLAND - Raymond W. "Bud" Hamilton, 97, of Mary Street, Cumberland, died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 1999, at the New Hope Center, Mexico Farms.
Born Nov. 6, 1901, in Okonoko, W.Va., he was the son of the late Charles Henry and Lorena (Teeters) Hamilton. He was also preceded in death by his wife, V. Louise Hamilton in 1974; two sisters, Addie Newcomb and Mildred Houck; and one brother, Jess Hamilton.
Mr. Hamilton a retired insurance agent for Prudential Insurance Company in South Cumberland. He was a member of Emmanuel-Bethel United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time at camp with his children and grandchildren.
Surviving are three sons, David R. Hamilton and wife Margie, Ridgeley, W.Va.; Charles R. "Buck" Hamilton and wife Judy, Singapore; and John R. Hamilton and wife Charlotte, Cumberland; three daughters, Nancy L. Hull and husband Harold, Owings, Md., Judy E. Smith, Glen Burnie; and Bonnie L. Diehl and husband Jim, Cumberland; one sister, Mary Beeche, Boonsboro; 16 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Pastor Wes Beahm officiating.
Interment will be in Davis Memorial Cemetery, Cumberland.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Bob Hamilton, Tim Hamilton, John Hamilton, Jimmy Diehl, Doug Hull, and Teddy Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be, Brandon Hamilton, Matt Graziano, and David Hull.
RUTH V. HAMMELL
CUMBERLAND - Ruth Valentine Hammell, 91, formerly of South Liberty Street and the Fort Cumberland Hotel, Cumberland, died on Monday, Jan. 4, 1999, at the Allegany County Nursing Home.
Born on Jan. 19, 1907, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late George U. Tederick and Ida (Valentine) Tederick. Her husband, Morris J. Hammell, died on June 6, 1975.
Mrs. Hammell was a retired Antique Dealer in the Cumberland area. She and her husband operated the Koin Korner and Kupboard Antiques Shop in the Old Fort Cumberland Hotel for many years. She was a member of Centre Street United Methodist Church, the YMCA Auxiliary, a member of Potomac Council Boy Scouts of America. In 1976 she was appointed to the Annual Assay Commission by President Gerald R. Ford. She was Past President of the American Numisatic Association, Past President of the Love Token Society, and the Western Maryland Coin Club. One of her projects was the two dollar commemorative notes.
She is survived by one brother, George H. Tederick, Cumberland; three nieces, Jennette Meyers and husband, Bob, Winchester, Va., Juanita James Hutton, Winchester, Sue Ann Tederick, Chatworth, Calif.; three nephews, Paul Tederick and wife, Mary Lou, Winchester, G. Mitchell Tederick and wife, Mela, Front Royal, Va., Teddy Tederick, Chatworth, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Pauline Whitman Tederick, Chatworth.
Friends will be received at the Kight Funeral Home, 309-311 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Lloyd B. McCanna officiating.
Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
VICTORIA S. KERR
CUMBERLAND - Victoria Susan Kerr, 35, of Cumberland, died Friday, Aug. 13, 1999 at home.
Born in Cumberland on February 27, 1964, she was the daughter of Dorothy L. (Dawson) Kerr, of Cumberland and the late Glenn D. Kerr. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Catherine Ann and Brittaney Nicole Kerr.
Mrs. Kerr was a Certified Care Giver for the former New Life Shelter of Cumberland. She was a member of the Centre Street United Methodist Church, and she was a member of the White Oaks Women's Bowling League.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her brother, Stephen E. Kerr and wife Sarah of Cumberland; nephew, William Kerr and a niece, Sarah Kerr. She also is survived by her fiancee, Bill Northcraft of Cumberland.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Monday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted there on Tuesday at 10 a.m. with Pastor Lloyd B. McCanna officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Burial Park.

PHILIP R. LUCAS SR.
CUMBERLAND - Philip "Pop" R. Lucas Sr., 95, of 817 Fayette St., Cumberland, died Sunday, Dec. 12, 1999, at the Providence Memorial Hospital, El Paso, Texas.
Born Jan. 2, 1904, in Horton, W.Va., he was the son of the late Hiram Grant and Catherine E. (Reitzel) Lucas. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Samantha (Areford) Lucas in 1994; two brothers, Thomas F. Lucas and Joseph Lucas; and two sisters, Edith Lucas and Mary Bynion.
Mr. Lucas had been the chief engineer at the Fort Cumberland Hotel for 17 years. He was well known in the area for his Amoco service station in Cresaptown, which he owned and operated for over 40 years. He was a member of the Centre Street United Methodist Church.
Surviving include two sons, Philip R. Lucas Jr. and wife Mary Louise, Bowling Green, and Robert F. Lucas and wife Tomiko, with whom Pop Lucas had resided in El Paso for the past five years; one sister, Gertrude Stanley, Roanoke, Va.; four grandchildren, Grant Lucas and wife Patty, Mark Lucas and wife Faith, Christy Wright and husband Jim, and Dr. Vicki Lucas Kajs and husband Louis; five great-grandchildren, Heidi Wright, Jamela Rodriquez and husband Javier, Chelsea Kajs, Bridget Kajs and Robert Lucas; and one great-grandson, Joshua Rodriquez.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral service will be held in the Centre Street United Methodist Church on Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Lloyd McCanna officiating. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to service time.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Burial Park.

HARRY HAMMOND
DENTON - Harry Hammond, 88, of Denton, died Thursday, Nov. 25, 1999.
Mr. Hammond was Director of Engineering and Power Production for the Allegany Power Systems (APS) and retired as Director of Power Station Operation for APS in 1975. He had worked at the Cumberland power plant in the 1940s.
Surviving are his wife, Ethel C. Hammond, Denton; two sons; two daughters; and eight grandchildren.
A Mass of Resurrection for Mr. Hammond will be celebrated by his son, Rev. H. Martin Hammond, Jr., on Saturday, Dec. 11, 1999, at 11 a.m. at St. Isaac Jogues Roman Catholic Church, 9400 Old Harford Road, Baltimore, MD 21236.
In lieu of flowers, a scholarship has been established in the name of Harry M. Hammond Scholarship of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Virginia. Contributions to the scholarship fund may be made through the University of Virginia Fund, P.O. Box 3446, Charlottesville, VA 22903.
MARY M. KAMP
GRANTSVILLE - Mary Madeline Kamp, 71, of 1374 Chestnut Ridge Road, Grantsville, went to be with the Lord while her family was by her side, Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1999, at Memorial Hospital.
Born March 11, 1928, in Meyersdale, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Ida (Foy) Klink. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Lawrence, James, and Paul Klink.
Mrs. Kamp was a homemaker. She was a faithful member and Sunday School Teacher at Trinity United Church of Christ, New Germany. She was also a member of the Woodmen of the World, and secretary of the Trinity Guild for many years. She was a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Surviving are her husband of 52 years, William H. Kamp; two sons, William "Pete" K. Kamp and wife, Joann, Grantsville, Robert D. Kamp and wife, Misty, Grantsville; three daughters, Sharon "Sherry" L. Tedrow and husband, Terry, LaVale, Cynthia "Cindy" S. Fisher and husband, Phil, Grantsville, Vicki K. Broadwater and husband, Randy, Grantsville; one brother, Oscar Klink and wife, Ruth, Garrett, Pa.; one sister, Katherine Remley, Charlottesville, Va.; one sister-in-law, Delores Klink, Meyersdale, Pa.; three grandsons, Aaron Fisher, Robbie Kamp, Travis Kamp, all of Grantsville; four granddaughters, Lori Smith and husband, Craig, of Rawlings, Megan Kamp, Sarah Broadwater, Kristan Broadwater, all of Grantsville; and one great-grandson, Wyatt Smith, of Rawlings.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., Grantsville, Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the Trinity United Church of Christ, Thursday, Dec. 2, 1999, at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Raymond Brown officiating. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in Trinity Cemetery.
