MABEL V. JENKINS
CUMBERLAND - Mabel Virginia Jenkins, 57, of Cumberland, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, Dec. 15, 1999, at the University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore.
Born March 11, 1942, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Hubert and Aretta (Whetzel) Hershberger. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, James and Hubert Hershberger; one sister, Mary Judy; and foster mother, Ollie (Heavner) Dyer.
Mrs. Jenkins was a homemaker. She attended Memorial Heights Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Donald M. Jenkins; one daughter, Angela M. Campbell and husband, David, Cumberland; three sons, Donald F. "Butch" Jenkins and wife, Susan, Cumberland, David E. Jenkins, Sr., and wife, Theresa, Ridgeley, W.Va., Michael A. Jenkins and Debbie, Cumberland; one brother, John T. Hershberger, Sr., and wife, Martha, Cumberland; one sister, Rose Marie Young, Clarksburg, W.Va.; and seven grandchildren, D.J. Jenkins, Rick Jenkins, David Jenkins, Jr., Rachel Jenkins, Emily Jenkins, David Campbell, Jr., and Jennifer Campbell.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at Memorial Heights Baptist Church, Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Pastor Denny Michael, officiating. There will be visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.
Interment will be in Davis Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be D.J. Jenkins, Rick Jenkins, David Jenkins, and Ronald Steele, Sr.
DOLORES C. HANITCHAK
OLDTOWN - Dolores Coletta Hanitchak, 79, of 16712 Maniford Road, SE, Oldtown, died Saturday, April 24, 1999, at her home.
Born June 13, 1919, in Tishomingo, Okla., she was the daughter of the late Rainey Anderson and the late Ruth (Griffith) Anderson.
Mrs. Hanitchak was a retired kindergarten teacher and principal.
Surviving are a husband, Leonard Robert Hanitchak, Oldtown; two sons, Leonard R. Hanitchak Jr., Wailuku, Hawaii, and Michael S. Hanitchak and wife Sherry, South Strafford, Vt.; a sister Norma Gebhard, Las Vegas, Nev.; and two grandchildren.
It was Mrs. Hanitchak's wishes to be cremated at the Cumberland Crematory, 404 Decatur St., Cumberland.
The Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., was in charge of arrangements.
ARTHUR G. HANNA
FROSTBURG - Arthur G. Hanna, 71, of Frostburg, died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1999, at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born June 21, 1927, in Akron, Ohio, he was the son of the late Ulysses and Ethlyn (Hughes) Hanna.
Mr. Hanna was a member of the Welsh Memorial Baptist Church. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theatre on the USS Swanson as gunnery mate.
Surviving are one sister, Betty Ann Hanna, Frostburg; one brother, Glenn Hanna and wife, Frances, Frostburg; two aunts, Rachel Hughes and Margaret Hanna Walsh, both of Frostburg; two nephews, Gary Hanna and wife, Melinda, and Bruce Hanna and wife, Terri; and one niece, Cindy Livingston and husband, Kerry, all of Frostburg.
Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., 60 W. Main St., Frostburg, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. William G. Boyer officiating.
Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park. Graveside military rites will be accorded by American Legion, Farrady Post #24.
Pallbearers will be Gary Hanna, Bruce Hanna, Kerry Livingston, Lewis Wehler, Harry Youngblood and Raymond DiGilarmo. Honorary pallbearers will be Joseph Delaney and Donald Hanna.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Welsh Memorial Baptist Church.
FRANCES E. HANNON
WESTERNPORT - Frances Elizabeth (Burns) Hannon, of 1707 Monza Road, McLean, Va., formerly of Westernport, died Friday, April 30, 1999, at the home of her daughters after a long illness. She would have been 102 on her next birthday.
Born June 9, 1897, in Johnsonburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late William F. Burns and Elizabeth C. (Studd) Burns. She was married
to Joseph A. Hannon Sr. on Jan. 30, 1924, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, and was preceded in death by him on Aug. 30, 1977. She was also preceded in death by three sons, Joseph A. Hannon Jr. on Aug. 3, 1979, William B. Hannon on April 12, 1984, Robert E. Hannon on May 20, 1993; one daughter-in-law, Hilda (Clark) Hannon, on May 5, 1978; two sisters, Viola and Leonore; and one brother, Robert.
She is survived by two daughters, Frances Ann Hannon and Rosemary Hannon, both of McLean; and one sister, Philomena (Burns) Small, Westerport; and daughter-in-law, Margaret Hannon McCutcheon, Cumberland; five grandchildren, Robert Hannon and wife, Helen, Westernport, Christopher Hannon and wife, Wendy, Cumberland, William Hannon and wife, Susan, Westminster, Mary Beth Amoroso and husband, John, Piedmont, and Karen Moran and husband, Blake, Westernport; 10 great-grandchildren, Ashley, Mary Caitlin, Kathleen, Elizabeth and Sarah Hannon, Blake and Brandon Moran, and Joseph, Joshua and Abbie Amoroso.
Mrs. Hannon was a homemaker, a devout Christian and Roman Catholic by faith. She was also a Charter Member of the Catholic Daughters Court Sancta Maria #485. She was also a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Westernport, and St. John's Catholic Church, McLean.
Mrs. Hannon was an alumna of St. Peter's School Class of 1915, and was the oldest living graduate from that school. She also resided in both Piedmont and Westernport for many years before moving to Virginia.
Friends may be received at the Fredlock Funeral Home, Piedmont, on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peter's Catholic Church on Monday at 10 a.m. with Father Jim Hannon as celebrant.
Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Westernport.
In lieu of flowers, any donations may be made to St. Peter's School or to St. Peter's Catholic Church.

PAUL L. HANSELL
CUMBERLAND - Paul Llewellyn Hansell, 78, formerly of Cumberland, and living at 126 Gregory Place, Winchester, Va., passed away Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1999, at Winchester Hospital.
Born April 15, 1921, in Cumberland, he was he son of the late Paul G. Hansell and the late Maude Mae (Ensley) Hansell. He was also preceded in death by a brother, James Hansell, and a sister, Alberta Davy.
Mr. Hansell was a retired sheet metal worker out of the International Local 100 at Washington, D.C. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army in World War II, a member of the Apostolic United Pentecostal Church, of Winchester.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Louise (Wakefield) Hansell; two sons, Bonnie Lou Tuller, Germantown, Sharon Lee Kesner, Winchester, Va.; one brother, Howard Hansell, Cumberland; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday with the Rev. Jeff Dillon officiating.
Interment will be at the Maryland State Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap. Full military rites will be accorded at graveside by the local veteran organizations.
