ANNE L. HANSELMAN
HIGHLAND, Ill. - Anne Louise Hanselman, 70. of Highland, formerly of Cumberland, Md., died Thursday, Sept. 16, 1999, at the Highland Health Care Center.
Born Sept. 26, 1928, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Roland and Vesta (Gallaher) Mease. She also was preceded in death by her first husband, John "Jack" Curry; seven brothers, Melvin, James, George, Clair, David, Leo and stillborn infant; two sisters, Valera "Sis" Mease and Lola Roberts.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth W. Hanselman, Highland; two sons, Richard "Rick" Curry, Tucson, Ariz., and Barry J. Hanselman, Highland; two sisters, Imogene Meek, Orlando, Fla., and Esther Mason, Cumberland; and one grandson, Josh Curry, Arkansas.
Private visitation and funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999, at the Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home, Highland, with the Rev. Thomas G. Drewer officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Southern Ill. and/or American Cancer Society.
MILDRED E. LEWIS
FROSTBURG - Mildred Elizabeth Lewis, 85, of 161 Washington St., Frostburg, died Friday, Aug. 20, 1999 at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born March 19, 1914 in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late George and Eva (Beal) Reidler. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin D. Lewis; a son-in-law, Robbie Robison; and a brother, James Reidler.
Mrs. Lewis was a homemaker and formerly worked at the Celanese Fibers Corp.
She was a member of the Welsh Memorial Baptist Church and Pioneer Club, Frostburg, the Martha Washington Chapter 10 Order of the Easter Star where she was Past Worthy Matron, the Daughters of the Nile, Women of the Moose Chapter 221, Frostburg, and the A.A.R.P.
Surviving are two daughters, Donna Carter, Frostburg, and Janice Robison, Cumberland; a granddaughter, Lisa Harris, Frostburg; a grandson, David Robison, Cumberland; two great-grandchildren, Joe and Sarah Harris; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Members of the Order of the Easter Star, Chapter 10, will conduct a memorial service at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Welsh Memorial Baptist Church on Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. William G. Boyer officiating. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in the Frostburg Memorial Park.

RUTH L. LOAR
LAVALE - Ruth Louise Loar, 74, of LaVale, died Saturday, Oct. 16, 1999, in Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Sept. 30, 1925, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late David T. and Mary E. (Hager) Ogilvie.
Mrs. Loar was a member of the Park Place United Methodist Church, LaVale, and a member of the Cumberland Chapter O.E.S.
Surviving are her husband of 49 years, G. Clifton Loar; one sister, Sandra J. Bishields and husband George, Frostburg; two brothers, William H. Ogilvie, Margate, Fla., and Robert F. Ogilvie and wife Jackie, Edgewood; numerous nieces and nephews; great-nieces and -nephews; great-great-nieces and -nephews; and a special friend, Mary Dawson, Cumberland.
Friends will be received in the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, 1302 National Highway, LaVale, on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted there on Wednesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Lee Brotemarkle and the Rev. Lowell Garland officiating.
Interment will follow in Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Claude Kimmell, Jim Nave, Homer Martz, Russell Bucy, Craig Lohnas, and Richard Loar.

HARRY KAUFFMAN
LAVALE - Harry Kauffman, 80, of National Highway, LaVale, died Friday, Sept. 17, 1999, at his residence.
Born Oct. 13, 1918, in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Jacob and Lena (Hirsch) Kauffman. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Dave Kauffman.
Mr. Kauffman was a U.S. Army Captain veteran of World War II, a retired attorney, and business owner of the Cumberland Cloak and Suit Store. He was a member of the B'er Chayim Temple, Cumberland Rotary Club, American Bar Association, Maryland Bar Association, Board of Directors for Liberty Trust Bank, Frostburg State University Board of Visitors, Board member of the LaVale Sanitary Commission, Downtown Merchant Association and the Cumberland Jaycees.
Surviving are his wife, Evelyn Ruth Kauffman; one daughter, Dale Tikoian and husband John, Rockville; one son, Jack Barry Kauffman and wife Lynda, New York; and four grandchildren, Steven Tikoian, Katie Tikoian, Mike Tikoian and Jennifer Kauffman.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:30 to 2 p.m. at the East View Cemetery.
Graveside services will be conducted Sunday at the cemetery at 2 p.m. with Rabbi Lawrence Jakosski officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Hospice Home Care, Attention: Linda Valentine, 900 Seton Drive, Cumberland, or The Cumberland Chapter of Hadassah, 630 Ronald Lane, LaVale.

JACK L. HANSON
FROSTBURG - Jack Lewis Hanson, 67, of Frostburg, died Friday, March 12, 1999, at Memorial Hospital Special Care Unit.
Born Sept. 19, 1931, he was the son of the late Jack and Margaret (Sleeman) Hanson.
He attended Beall High School from 1943 to 1947 before living a few years in Kingwood, W.Va., and graduating from Kingwood High School in 1949. He attended West Virginia University. He was a surgical tech in the Air Force assigned to Patrick AFB in Cocoa Beach, Fla., where he met and married
Faylene Wagner of Lewisburg, Pa.
He retired from ABL in 1971. He was a life member and P.E.R. of the Frostburg Elks Lodge 470.
He is survived by his former wife and good friend, Faylene Hanson; one daughter, JoAnn Lloyd and husband Donnie, Frosbturg; two sons, Doug Hanson, Frostburg, and Steve Hanson and wife Paula, Fort Ashby, W.Va.; one sister, Edith Hanson and husband Bob Denison, Chestertown; and seven grandchildren, Laura Beeman, Jack Beeman, Michael Hanson, Sarah Hanson, Zach Hanson, Josh Hanson and Nikki Lloyd. Also surviving are many dear friends at Frostburg Heights Apartments, who supported him greatly during his illness.
The body will be cremated at Mr. Hanson's request. Interment will be in the Maryland State Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap.
A memorial service will be held at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., 60 W. Main St., Frostburg, Monday, March 15, at 11a.m. with the Rev. George M. Harpold officiating.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the Frostburg Area Ambulance Service.
ROBERT E. HARBAUGH
BIVALVE - Robert E. Harbaugh, 61, of Bivalve, formerly of Cumberland, died Friday, Nov. 26, 1999, at Peninsula Medical Center, Salisbury.
Born Sept. 20, 1938, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Albert L. and Margaret G. (Grant) Harbaugh. He also was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Kenneth Earle.
Surviving are one sister, Lois J. Geoghan and husband John, Bivalve; one sister-in-law, Mary M. Earle, Bel Air; six nieces; three nephews; four great-nieces; five great-nephews; and a number of cousins and their families.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Father Milton A. Hipsley officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
