ROBERT R. HARE
CUMBERLAND - Robert R. Hare, 74, of West Third Street, Cumberland, died Thursday, July 29, 1999, at Memorial Hospital.
Born March 6, 1925, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late John and Emma Hare. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Helena (Porter) Hare.
Mr. Hare worked in construction for more than 25 years and later took a position as caretaker with the Maryland State Police, where he retired in 1984.
Surviving are three sons, Robert U. Hare and wife Doris, Ridgeley, W.Va., Ronald T. Hare Sr. and wife Annafaye, Ridgeley, and Rodney L. Hare, Texas; and two daughters, Yvonne L. Crawford and husband Michael, with whom he resided, and Gloria Rexrode and husband William, Carlisle, Pa. He had 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. He also is survived by one brother, Thomas Hare, Cumberland.
Mr. Hare donated his remains to the West Virginia Medical Center at Morgantown, W.Va.
A private memorial service is being planned by family members.

RAJ KANSAL
CUMBERLAND - Raj Kansal, 69, of 1054 Richwood Ave., Cumberland, died Sunday, July 18, 1999, at Memorial Hospital.
Born March 17, 1930, in India, he was the son of the late Chhattar Mal and the late Trivini Devi. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Prem L. (Garg) Kansal, on July 30, 1997.
Mr. Kansal was a retired accountant.
Surviving are three daughters, Vinita Gupta and husband Dr. Sunil K. Gupta, Cumberland, Shashi Gupta, Cumberland, and Seema Garg and husband Devinder, Fresno, Calif.; a son Vipin Kansal and wife Ekta, Wilkes Barre, Pa.; five grandchildren, Sabrina Gupta, Sumeet Gupta, Nitin Garg, Mayuri Garg and Neha Kansal; and one sister and one brother, both in India.
Private services will be conducted at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Tuesday at 11 a.m.
STANLEY R. HARE SR.
KINGSPORT, Tenn. - Stanley R. Hare Sr., 72, of Kingsport, formerly of Cumberland, died Friday, April 9, 1999, at Sunrise at Brookhaven Nursing Center, Kingsport, after a lengthy illness.
Born Feb. 13, 1927, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late John and Emma Jane (Barger) Hare. He also was preceded in death by his first wife, Jeannine E. Hare, in 1987; three sisters; and five brothers.
Mr. Hare retired as a machinist from the Chessie System Railroad, Cumberland, after 45 years of service. He was a member of St. Domonic's Catholic Church, Kingsport, and a former member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Ridgeley, W.Va.
Surviving are his wife, Violet M. Hare; one daughter, Saralee Ann Wolfe and husband Frederick, Carpendale, W.Va.; one son, Stanley R. Hare Jr. and wife Patty, Ridgeley; one stepdaughter, Jackie Dively, and one stepson, Russell Dively and wife Gloria, all of Kingsport; two brothers, Robert Hare and Thomas Hare, both of Cumberland; two granddaughters, Rebecca Wolfe, Carpendale, and Lesley Hollen and husband Trevor, Columbus, Ohio; one step-grandson, Nathan Dively, Kingsport; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Monday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Rosary will be recited on Monday at 8:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the St. Anthony's Catholic Church on Tuesday at 9 a.m. with Father James J. Chelock as celebrant.
Interment will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery, Cumberland.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Ridgeley.
TWILA F. KELLY
CUMBERLAND - Twila Fern (Deffinbaugh) Kelly, 75, of Cumberland, passed away peacefully at her home on Feb. 11, 1999, under the care of the Hospice Home Care Program.
She was born Jan. 27, 1924, in Oldtown, the daughter of the late George D. Deffinbaugh and Corinne (Steckman) Deffinbaugh. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Lee Kelly; six brothers; and one sister.
Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Nyla Cooper and Mrs. Joyce Conduitt, Cumberland, and Mrs. Freda DelSignore, Cresaptown; one brother, Ronald Deffinbaugh, Hagerstown; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Leasure-Stein Funeral Home, Cumberland.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert C. Jones officiating.
Interment will be in Davis Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Larry Deffinbaugh, Curt Deffinbaugh, Brian Deffinbaugh, Gary Cooper, Greg Warren, and Len Deffinbaugh.
LETTY D. JOHNSON
CUMBERLAND - Letty Dillon Johnson, 84, of the Egle Nursing Home, Lonaconing, formerly of 15 Cherokee Drive, Sunset View, Cumberland, died Monday, Feb. 22, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born July 13, 1914, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late J. Fred and Eva "Lettie" (Dando) Dillon. She also was preceded in death by her husband, A. Leon Johnson, in 1978; two sisters, Sarah "Sally" Dillon Spitznas and Martha Dillon Hinkle; and a brother, James "Max" Dillon.
Mrs. Johnson was a former elementary school teacher with the Allegany County Board of Education. She formerly was employed at the Western Maryland Railroad, and was a former instructor for the Hammond Organ Co. of Chicago. She was a 1931 graduate of Beall High School, Frostburg, and graduated from the Frostburg Normal School.
She was Protestant by faith. She was a member of the Allegany County Retired Teachers Association, AARP, the Allegany County Historical Society, the Frostburg State University Alumni Association, and the Women's Civic Club of Cumberland.
Surviving are a sister, Sue Dillon Lewis, Mount Savage; three nieces, Sandra Dillon Grandstaff, Lonaconing, Sarah Grace Reidy, Marco Island, Fla., and Martha Ann Lewis, Arbutus; and two nephews, Thomas W. Lewis Jr., LaVale, and Raymond Spitznas, Baltimore.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Richard Mortimer of the Lonaconing First United Methodist Church officiating.
Interment will be in the Frostburg Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Thomas W. Lewis Jr., Richard W. Grandstaff, Raymond Spitznas, John Reidy, David Moyer, Michael A. Welch and William Moyer.

RAY MICHAEL LOHR
GRANTSVILLE - Ray Michael Lohr, 86, of 191 Main St., Grantsville, died Friday, Feb. 12, 1999, at the Meyersdale Manor Nursing Home, Meyersdale, Pa.
Born Sept. 19, 1912, near Grantsville, he was the son of the late Marshall Henry and Minerva Jane (Custer) Lohr.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Jeannette P. (Bittinger) Lohr; a sister, Edna Lohr; and a brother, Harry Lohr.
Mr. Lohr was an ice man, farmer and car salesman. He was in the timber and pulpwood business. He was a faithful and very active member of Christ Lutheran Church where he served as an usher and council member. He was involved in area fund-raisers, Grantsville cemetery Association, and was business manager of the Grantsville Sluggers Baseball Team.
Surviving are one daughter, Jeanne Fetter and husband, the Rev. David E. Fetter, Salisbury, Pa.; one sister, Ann Knecht, Akron, Ohio; and one brother, Earl Lohr, Atwater, Ohio; two grandchildren, Michael Fetter, Salisbury, and Julie Fetter, Arlington, Va.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., Grantsville, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at Christ Lutheran Church on Monday at 2 p.m., with his son-in-law, the Rev. David E. Fetter, officiating.
Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in the Grantsville Cemetery.
The family suggest memorials be directed to Christ Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
