JASPER C. MOON
Jasper Clark Moon, 78, Crumpton, formerly of Deer Park, died Monday, April 17, 2000, at his home.
Born Aug. 24, 1921, in Deer Park, he was the son of the late James William and Sarah (Uphold) Moon.
He was a veteran of World War II, and a retired truck driver. He was a member of Orange Blossom Lodge 80 AF&AM, Kissimmee, Fla., and Chestertown Post 36 American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Mary (Biggs) Moon; one son, Clark Moon, Baltimore; three daughters, Nellie Imes, Ocean City, Dorothy Fazenbaker, Marydell, and Esther Robinson, Clarksville, Pa.; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was conducted earlier today, April 20. Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery.
The Durst Funeral Home, Oakland, was in charge of arrangements.
FREDERICK F. GEORG
Frederick F. Georg, 82, Oakland, died Monday, April 17, 2000, at the Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home, Oakland.
Born Nov. 2, 1917, in Accident, he was a son of the late Frank and Emma (Miller) Georg.
He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Accident. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of the American Legion, Accident. He was a former front-end aligner for Glotfelty Enterprises, Oakland.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn M. (Auman) Weimer Georg; one stepdaughter, Linda G. Hauser, Oakland; one sister, Arlene Georg, Accident; one brother, Hobert Georg, Accident; and two step-grandsons.
Friends were received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland. A service was conducted at the Zion Lutheran Church, at 2 p.m. today, April 20, with the Rev. Wilfred Karsten officiating. Interment followed in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
Military honors were accorded at the cemetery by members of the various veterans organizations in southern Garrett County.
JOSHUA M. THREN
Joshua M. Thren, infant son of Paul E. and Joy M. (Conrad) Thren, Oakland, died Wednesday, April 19, 2000, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his paternal grandparents, Steve and Joetta (McConnell) Thren, Eglon, W.va., and maternal grandparents, Bob and Brenda (Seely) Conrad, New Brunswick, Canada.
An interment service will be conducted at the Maple Spring Cemetery, Eglon, on Friday, April 21, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Doug Sehorne officiating. Interment will follow.
The Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, is in charge of arrangements.
R. WILLARD HAUSER
R. Willard "Bill" Hauser, 83, Mtn. Lake Park, died Saturday, April 8, 2000, at the Cuppett-Weeks Nursing Home, Oakland.
Born Aug. 13, 1916, in Oakland, he was the son of the late Henry and Julie (Enlow) Hauser.
He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Oakland; Garrett Lodge 113, Knights of Pythias, Oakland; and Lodge 11, Woodmen of the World, Oakland. He worked for many years as a janitor for First United Bank and Trust, Oakland.
Survivors include his wife, Carrie K. (Sims) Hauser; one daughter, Charlotte F. Sines, Oakland; one son, Robert A. Hauser, Loch Lynn; one sister, Pauline Willett, Clarksburg, W.Va.; three granddaughters; and nine great-grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland. A service was conducted at St. Mark's Lutheran Church on Tuesday, April 11, with Pastor Michael Robinson and the Rev. Dennis Leatherman officiating. Interment was in the Oakland Cemetery.
Members of Garrett Lodge 113, Knights of Pythias, conducted a memorial service Monday evening at the funeral home.
L. LAURETTA VANSICKLE
L. Lauretta VanSickle, 92, Friendsville, died Thursday, April 6, 2000, at Cuppett-Weeks Nursing Home, Oakland.
Born Nov. 26, 1907, in Friendsville, she was a daughter of the late Lott and Mary Alice (Humberson) VanSickle.
She was a member of Blooming Rose United Methodist Church and was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Perry F. VanSickle, whom she married Dec. 23, 1931; three sons, James E. VanSickle, Raymond C. VanSickle, and Lott VanSickle, all of Friendsville; four daughters, Janet L. Fike and Judith L. Frazee, both of Friendsville, Alice Catherine Hartzell, Boonsboro, and Mary Jane Yoder, Cumberland; one sister, Blanche Frantz, Markleysburg, Pa; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Friendsville, where a service was conducted Sunday, April 9, with Pastor Donald Savage officiating. Interment was in the Blooming Rose Cemetery.
HERMAN C. MEYERS
Herman Cecil Meyers, 85, Mount Airy, died Thursday, April 6, 2000, at Frederick Memorial Hospital, Frederick.
Born Nov. 10, 1914, in Jennings, he was the son of the late Lee and Sadie Ann (Yommer) Meyers. He was also preceded in death by an infant son, Herman Eugene Meyers, in 1945.
He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Woodbine, and was a retired farmer and truck driver for Meyers Liquid Fertilizer. After his retirement, he made hickory rocking chairs.
Survivors include his wife, Viola Grace (Durst) Meyers; one son, James Meyers, Taylorsville; two sisters, Edith Bowers, Boynton, Pa., and Dorothy Ryman, Newaygo, Mich.; and two granddaughters.
Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, where a service was conducted Monday, April 10, with the Rev. Roger Rinker officiating. Interment was in the IOOF Cemetery, Berlin, Pa.
JAMES B. FAZENBAKER
James B. Fazenbaker, 73, Piedmont, W.Va., died Saturday, April 8, 2000, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born July 10, 1926, in Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late James W. and Irma Marie (Morgan) Fazenbaker. He was also preceded in death by one son, Richard Eugene Fazenbaker; and one granddaughter.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a retired truck driver for the Moran Trucking Company, and a member of Victory Post 155 American Legion, Westernport.
Survivors include his wife, Colleen "Jackie" (Beeman) Fazenbaker; two sons, James "Jim Bob" Fazenbaker and Greg Fazenbaker, both of Piedmont; one daughter, Alice "Annie" Starkey, Piedmont; one brother, Dorsey Fazenbaker, Backbone Mountain, Swanton; six grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Friends were received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, where a service was conducted Wednesday, April 12, with the Rev. Jerry Schloe officiating. Interment was in the Bloomington Cemetery, where full military honors were accorded at the graveside.
LULA P. WEEKS
Lula Pearl Weeks, 62, Oakland, died Sunday, April 9, 2000, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland.
Born July 30, 1934, in Garrett County, she was a daughter of the late George T. and Alta (Paugh) Upole. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James H. Weeks Sr., on Feb. 6; four brothers; three sisters; and two grandchildren.
She retired from the Cuppett-Weeks Nursing Home, where she was employed as a nursing assistant. She was a member of the VFW ladies auxiliary.
Survivors include four daughters, Roxeann McCloud, Oakland, Naomi DeWitt, Bloomington, Vicki DeWitt, Oakland, and Tina Wolf, Baltimore; two sons, James Weeks Jr. and John Weeks, both of Oakland; one brother, Harold Upole, Deer Park; one sister, Virginia Leonard, Burlington, W.Va.; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Durst Funeral Home, Oakland. A service was conducted at the Pleasant View Baptist Church on Wednesday, April 12, with the Rev. Wally Weeks officiating. Interment was in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials take the form of contributions to the Southern Garrett Rescue Squad.
BESSIE BOWERS
Bessie Bowers, 73, Oakland, died Friday, April 7, 2000, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland.
Born Sept. 15, 1926, in Vindex, she was a daughter of the late Andrew Sims and Pauline (Davis) Sims Paugh. She was also preceded in death by her stepfather, Wesley Paugh; one sister, Helen L. Michaels; and her twin sister, Dessie Tasker.
She was a member of the Loch Lynn Church of God.
Survivors include her husband, Harold D. Bowers; three daughters, Sue Fulmer, Mtn. Lake Park, Lynn Shaffer, Loch Lynn, and Carol Kimmel, Baltimore; four sons, Donald Landis, Gormania, W.Va., William Sims, Bear, Del., David Bowers, Romney, W.Va., and Thomas Bowers, Winchester, Va.; three sisters, Alberta Sweitzer, Cresaptown, Betty Upole, Deer Park, and Norma J. Whitacre, Kitzmiller; two brothers, Wesley Paugh, Oakland, and Charles Paugh, Kitzmiller; 25 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Gary Marshall Simmons, 47, New Creek, W.Va., died Friday, April 7, 2000, at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser, W.Va.
Born Aug. 16, 1952, in Nethken, W.Va., he was a son of the late Theodore and Beulah (Shreve) Simmons.
He was employed at American Woodmark, Moorefield, W.Va.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte (Evans) Simmons; one son, Gary Wayne Evans, New Creek; one daughter, Jennifer Paugh, New Creek; four brothers, Donald Simmons, Patterson Creek, W.Va., Charles Simmons, Elk Garden, W.Va., Wayne Simmons, Pittsburgh, and Rick Simmons, Morgantown, W.Va.; four sisters, Betty Helmick, Glassport, Pa., Barbara Durst, Keyser, W.Va., Shirley DiGiacomo, McKeesport, Pa., and Twila Goodwin, Myrtle Beach, S.C; and four grandchildren.

FAYE E. NAZELROD
Faye Elizabeth Nazelrod, 86, Fruitland, died Sunday, April 9, 2000, at the home of her daughter.
Born May 10, 1913, in Garrett County, she was a daughter of the late David A. and Stella (Shell) McNemar. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John E. Nazelrod, in 1972.
Survivors include one daughter, Faye Ellen Alexander, Fruitland, with whom she made her home; one brother, Hal J. McNemar, Keyser, W.Va.; one sister, Dixie McKone, Piedmont, W.Va.; and two grandsons.
A chapel service was conducted earlier today, April 13, at Garrett Memorial Gardens, Oakland, with the Rev. Roger Harrison officiating.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Bounds Funeral Home, Salisbury.
