SHERRY D. KING
MOUNT SAVAGE - Sherry D. "G.G." King, 57, of St. Patrick's Church Road, Mount Savage, died Sunday, Nov. 28, 1999, at her residence.
Born March 19, 1942, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Dorothy (Hopkins) O'Neal. One brother, Raymond O'Neal Jr., and a son-in-law, Arthur T. Rice, also preceded her in death.
Mrs. King was a former supervisor of housekeeping at Frostburg State College for 17 years. She was a member of the Allegheny United Methodist Church, Zihlman; Mount Savage Lighting and Taxing Committee; the Mount Savage Water Co. as past recording secretary; and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Mount Savage Fire Company, and was a volunteer at the fire department's Friday night dinners. Mrs. King enjoyed her family and friends, gardening, and dancing with her husband "Gene."
Surviving are her husband of 38 years, George E. "Gene" King; three daughters, Peggy A. King and Joe Hoffman, Kennell's Mill, Pa., Jean M. Rice, Mount Savage, and Joan M. McCoy and husband Patrick, Hyndman, Pa.; and two grandchildren, who were her pride and joy, Eugene Thomas Rice and Brianne Marie Rice; one brother, James S. O'Neal and wife Maxine, Rawlings; four sisters, Eva Ray Stevens and husband John, LaVale, Peggy Sween and husband Neal, Zihlman, Elsie Robeson and husband Jack, Finzel, and Dottie Smith and husband John, Mount Savage; special friends, Bill and Kelly Shaffer, Elaine Miller and Helen Conway; special nieces, Vicky (Bridges) Lease and Marsha Manske; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. George M. Harpold officiating.
Interment will be in the St. Patrick's Church Cemetery, Mount Savage.
Pallbearers will be William Shaffer, Marty Conway, Bryan Robertson, Jim King, Joe Conway and Earl Hopkins.

FREDERICK KLEIN
HAGERSTOWN - Frederick Klein, 77, of 18922 Dover Drive, Hagerstown, died Friday, Feb. 19, 1999, at the Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown.
Born March 20, 1921, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Russell Howard Klein and the late Anna (Ruehl) Klein. He also was preceded in death by his brother, Henry Klein.
Mr. Klein was a graduate of Allegany High School, Cumberland, in 1939, and Shepherd College, Shepherdstown, W.Va., in 1948. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a scientist for the Department of the Army at Fort Detrick for 30 years, and later at the Frederick Cancer Research Center, where he was prominent in the mammalian cell production area in the development and production of interferon and other related biological modifier drugs. After retiring in 1984, he consulted for large-scale mammalian cell production drugs and monoclonal antibody production, and advised in the design of biotech facilities and equipment.
He was a member of the Church of the Holy Trinity, Hagerstown. He was a member of Waynesboro Country Club and the Morris Frock Post 42, American Legion.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Doris (Robinson) Klein, Hagerstown; a son, Frederick Klein Jr., Clarksburg; a granddaughter, Teri King, Gaithersburg; a grandson, Patrick Klein, Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd., Hagerstown, on Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the Church of the Holy Trinity, 17805 Oak Ridge Drive, Hagerstown, Monday, Feb. 22, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. David Schlicher officiating.
Interment will be in the Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.
EARL HARRISON
FLINTSTONE - Earl Harrison, 78, of 13604 Street Road, N.E., Flintstone, passed away Saturday, Oct. 23, at Memorial Hospital as he went home to with the Lord.
Born in Petersburg W.Va., July 8, 1921. He was the son of the late Floyd Harrison and Sarah (Reel) Harrison. Retired employee of the Kelly Springfield Tire Co., for 38 years. Veteran of the U.S. Army World War II, member of Cumberland Gospel Hall.
Surviving are his wife, Ruby (Morral) Harrison; one son, Harold D. Harrison and wife, Lois, Frostburg; five sisters, Mary Webster, Dawn View Nursing Home, Fort Ashby, W.Va., Margie Shook, Cumberland, Garnet Mongold, Petersburg, W.Va., Kathleen George, Petersburg, W.Va., Lucille Morral, Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; one brother, Melvin Harrison, Wardensville, W.Va.; five grandchildren, Beth Yaekle and husband, Scott, Detroit Mich., Miriam "Susie" Curran and husband, Dave, Cherry Hill, NJ, Rebekah DeBlock and husband, Dan, LaVale, Timothy Harrison and fiancé, Lynette Kremer, Frostburg, Deborah Harrison, Frostburg; three great-grandchildren, Andrew, Nate, and Ben Yackle.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home, on Wednesday at 11 a.m. by Evangelist James Smith and David Oliver.
Burial will be in RestLawn Memorial Park, LaVale.
Pallbearers will be, Dick Ganoe, Jim Ganoe, David Ganoe, Ed Dunn, Mark Dressler and Chuck Winebrenner. Honorary pallbearers, John Davis, Jim Dunn, Bob Pancake, and Larry Pancake.
FRANCIS H. KIDWELL
LUKE - Francis H. "Snook" Kidwell, 79, of 419 Pratt St., Luke, died Monday, Dec. 6, 1999, at his residence.
Born on Oct. 2, 1920, in Piedmont, W.Va., he was the son of the late Hugh and Anna (Hook) Kidwell. He also was preceded in death by four sisters and four brothers.
"Snook" was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a retired foreman from the Westvaco Corporation with 44 years of service. He was a member of the Kelly Mansfield Post #52 American Legion, Piedmont, and St. Peter's Catholic Church, Westernport.
He leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Joan (Halliday) Kidwell; one daughter, Linda Smith and husband Roger, Columbus, Ohio; one granddaughter, Robin Munsey; and one great-granddaughter, Holly Munsey, both of Columbus, Ohio.
Family will receive friends at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 10 a.m. with Father James Hannon officiating.
Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Westernport, with full military honors accorded at graveside.
CAROL L. KLINE
LONACONING - Carol Lee (Fairgrieve) Kline, 58, 17733 Lower Georges Creek Road, Nikep, Lonaconing, died Friday, Oct. 8, 1999, in Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Nov. 28, 1940, in Lonaconing, she was the daughter of Milton Fairgrieve, Sr., Nikep, and the late Beatrice (Cameron) Fairgrieve, she was also preceded in death by a son, James Kline; and a brother, Raymond Fairgrieve.
Mrs. Kline was of the Assembly of God faith. She was employed by H and R Block for 17 years as a tax preparer and Keyser Garment for 7 years as a sewer.
Surviving are her husband, Charles R. Kline, Sr.; three sons, Raymond Kline, Randall Kline, both of Nikep, and Charles R. Kline, Jr., Hagerstown; two brothers, Ronnie Fairgrieve, Nikep, and Milton Fairgrieve, Jr., Moscow.
The family will receive friends at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing, Monday, Oct. 11, 1999, from noon to 1 p.m.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Christopher Crawford, officiating.
At Mrs. Kline's request her body will be cremated, an inurnment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow Mills.
CHARLES H. HARTMAN
CUMBERLAND - Charles Howard Hartman, 89, of Cumberland, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 19, 1999, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland.
Born Dec. 24, 1909, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Charles W. and Matilda J. (Twigg) Hartman. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Evelyn (Couter) Hartman, on Oct. 9, 1970; three brothers, George E. Hartman, Walter W. Hartman and James Lester Hartman; and three sisters, Mary E. Crabtree, Helen O. Jenkins and Leona M. Harbell. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Mr. Hartman was retired from the Kline Furniture Company in Cumberland. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Cresaptown.
Surviving are one son, Charles David Hartman, Cumberland; one daughter, Eileen McCoy and husband Walter, Bowling Green; and one granddaughter, Diane Bean and husband Chris.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., Cresaptown, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Ken Korns officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
