ANNA E. LOGSDON
CUMBERLAND - Anna Elizabeth Logsdon, 83, of Booth Towers, Cumberland, died Monday, June 14, 1999, at her residence.
Born Feb. 6, 1916, in Hancock, Md., she was the daughter of the late Joseph Wesley Powell and Mary Jane (Spiker) Powell Rae. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh K. Logsdon Sr.; two brothers, John and Ernie Powell; and one sister, Margaret Powell.
Mrs. Logsdon was retired from the housekeeping department at the Holiday Inn. She was a nursing assistant at Memorial Hospital. She attended Christian Fellowship, Cumberland.
Surviving are three sisters, May Gentry, Lonaconing, Myrtle Elliott, Hazel Miller and husband Robert, all of Cumberland; five brothers, Huey Powell, Frostburg, George Powell and wife Wilma, Los Alamos, N.M., Joseph Powell, Lonaconing, James A. Powell and wife Shirley, Bel Air, Cumberland, and William Rae and wife Peggy, Cumberland; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Francis E. Morris officiating.
Interment will be in the Maryland State Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap, Flintstone.
IRENE E. HOOVER
CUMBERLAND - Irene Elizabeth Hoover, 73, formerly of Bedford Road, Cumberland, and residing at 1 Brett Court, Baltimore, died Thursday, Nov. 4, 1999, at Franklin Square Hospital.
Born Dec. 23, 1925, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Lester O'Neal and the late Angela Ann (Greise) O'Neal. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Leo L. O'Neal; and two sisters, Patricia Burdych and Rita O'Neal.
Mrs. Hoover was retired from Silcox-Merritt Funeral Home. She was a member of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
Surviving are a son, Joseph R. Hoover and wife, Linda, Cumberland; a brother, John H. O'Neal, Baltimore; two sisters, Josephine Ferguson and husband, Charles, Baltimore, and Alice Vargas and husband, Myron, Baltimore; and two grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted on Monday at 10 a.m. at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., with the Rev. Vance Pastorius, O.F.M. Cap, officiating.
Interment will be in SS. Peter and Paul's Catholic Church Cemetery.
CHARLES L. JOLLEY
CUMBERLAND - Charles Lee Jolley, 89, of McMullen Highway, Cumberland, died Saturday, May 8, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born March 2, 1910, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Elwood A. and Ida (Gormer) Jolley. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Ann (Morgan) Jolley, in 1996.
Mr. Jolley was a wood worker and master carpenter and had retired from the filtration department at the Celanese Corp.
Surviving are two daughters, Mary Lee Kegg and husband Tom, Cumberland, and Jeanne Mitcho and husband Joe, Dumphries, Va.; six grandchildren, Mike Kegg, Chris Hamilton, Monica Kegg, Jamie Kegg, Seth Mitcho and Sara Mitcho; and two great-grandchildren, Kaila Kegg and Rylee Hamilton.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Monday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Paul A. Byrnes officiating.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Burial Park.
Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
MAE M. HOOVER
FROSTBURG - Mae Margaret Hoover, 78, of 2728 Green Lantern Road, Frostburg, (Garrett County), died Friday, Oct. 29, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born June 18, 1921, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Emma (Baker) Yutzy. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Hoover in 1978, and one son, Floyd Hoover Jr. in 1964.
Mrs. Hoover was a member of the Mount Zion United Methodist Church and was a homemaker.
Surviving are one daughter, Dorothy Minick, Frostburg; two brothers, Harold Yutzy, Zihlman, Cobey Yutzy, Borden Mines; one sister, Rosella Lottig, Philadelphia, Pa.; and one granddaughter, Lori Minick.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A. Grantsville, Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted in the funeral home Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Steven Lightner officiating.
Interment will be in the Emmanuel Methodist Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Sacred Heart Hospice.
CHARLES F. KROLL
WESTERNPORT - Charles Fred Kroll, 80, of 313 Poplar St., Westernport, died Monday, Aug. 16, 1999 at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.
Born on Feb. 19, 1919 in Gilmore, he was the son of the late John Henry and Edith (DeVore) Kroll. Mr. Kroll also was preceded in death by a brother, John Henry Kroll and a sister, Thelma "Susie" Porter.
Fred, as he was known, served in the U.S. Army during World War II, having been awarded a purple heart. He was a retired construction worker, having worked from 1938 to 1982.
He was a member of Victory Post 155 American Legion, Westernport, Alvin C. Neat VFW, Lonaconing and the Disabled Veterans of Cumberland. He was a Methodist by faith.
Mr. Kroll is survived by his wife, Mary (Darr) Kroll; a brother, Elmer Leroy Kroll, of Eckhart, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. John Footen and Rev. Ed Hood officiating. Interment will be in Philos Cemetery, Westernport.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Westernport United Methodist Church Building Fund, or the American Heart Association.
JOHN F. HORCHLER
CUMBERLAND - John Frederick "Jack" Horchler, 66, of Cumberland, died suddenly Wednesday, Nov. 10, 1999, at his home.
Born Dec. 26, 1932, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late George Walter Horchler and the late Lottie Mae (Rexroad) Horchler.
Mr. Horchler attended Lake Gordon Assembly of God Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Surviving are several cousins.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 9 p.m.

Military honors will be accorded at graveside by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
