MARY E. KLOPP
OAKLAND - Mary Elizabeth Klopp, 98, of Oakland, died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1999, at Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home, Oakland.
Born Feb. 11, 1901, in Leopold, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Xavier Kreyenbuhl and Christina (Shaffer) Kreyenbuhl. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Walter H. Klopp, in 1961; and three brothers, Leo Kreyenbuhl, William Carl Kreyenbuhl and Joseph Kreyenbuhl.
Surviving are numerous nieces and nephews including Christine Johnson, with whom she resided for a number of years; and several step-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Durst Funeral Home, Oakland, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peter's Catholic Church on Saturday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Father Donald Parsons as celebrant.
Interment will be in the Baltimore National Cemetery.
LEE J. JOHNSON
CUMBERLAND - Lee J. Johnson, 85, formerly of Cumberland, died Monday, Nov. 1, 1999, at the Barbara Egan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Shrewsbury, Pa.
Born May 10, 1914, in Fairview, Va., she was the daughter of the late Eliga H. and Rosey Lea (Necessary) Jennings. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Henry A. Johnson, Jr., and an infant brother.
Mrs. Johnson was retired from the Allegany County Board of Education. She had been an English teacher at Allegany High School. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Washington St., Cumberland; Allegany County League of Women Voters; Maryland State Retired Teachers Association; and the Radford University Alumni Association.
She was an avid golfer, having won many tournaments at the Cumberland Country Club.
Survivors include two sons, Stephen Johnson, Shrewsbury, Pa., and Henry A. Johnson, Scott Valley, Calif.; two grandsons; and one great-granddaughter.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
The funeral service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 11 Washington St., Cumberland, on Thursday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. O. Morton Harris, officiating.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Burial Park.

KATHRYN V. LIVENGOOD
OLDTOWN - Kathryn Virginia "Cody" Livengood, 85, of 18524 East Wilson Road, Oldtown, died Friday, Dec. 17, 1999, at her home.
Born Aug. 11, 1914, in Oldtown, she was the daughter of the late Warfield Wilson and Mary Rosetta (McBride) Wilson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Vernon A. Livengood, in 1991, and a son, Victor Arthur Livengood, in 1965.
Mrs. Livengood was proud to be and active, lifelong member of Oldtown United Methodist Church. She enjoyed the most years of service in her church community of any member. She was a member of the Oldtown Lions Club, and was a 1932 graduate of Oldtown High School. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving are two daughters, Ruby L. Shryock and husband, Marshall, Maugansville, Linda Parsons and husband, Jack, Cumberland; three grandsons, Mark Anthony Shryock, Oldtown, Victor A. Livengood, Jr., Seattle, WA; Derrick V. Shryock, White Cloud, IN; one granddaughter, Mitzi D. Renteria Everett, WA; seven great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews; and many friends, including a special friend, her former Pastor, Rev. Clayton E. Rhodes.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Family will receive friends at the Oldtown United Methodist Church, on Monday at 12 p.m.
Services will be conducted there at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Clayton E. Rhodes and the Rev. C. Michael Henning, officiating.
Interment will be in Davis Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Albert Kinser, Larry Webb, Robert Mowery, Donald Carder, Kenneth Riggleman, and Allan Mowery.
SUSAN M. HORNICK
FLINTSTONE - Susan Marie Hornick, 48, of 14201 Old Bear Camp Road, N.E., Flintstone, went home to be with her Savior, Monday, July 5, 1999, at her home.
Born Jan. 16, 1951, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Harold "Mike" Robinson and the late Jessie (Coffman) Robinson Wolford. She was also preceded in death by her stepfather, Erson "Tom" Wolford.
Mrs. Hornick was a graduate of Fort Hill High School class of 1969. She served faithfully and fervently at Friendship Haven Chapel.
Surviving are her husband of 28 years, Oliver Hornick, Flintstone; and a son, Matthew Hornick, Flintstone.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted on Friday at 10 a.m. at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., with Pastor Floyd Bender officiating.
Interment will be in Maryland Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap. Graveside services will be by invitation only.
Pallbearers will be chosen from her closest friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be Nancy (Lambert) Wilt, Cindy Lewis, and Cindy (Crites) Morrissey.
HAZEL A. LEWIS
DUNDALK - Hazel Arbutus Lewis, 87, of 7232 German Hill Road, Dundalk, formerly of Jackson Center, Pa., died Sunday at Genesis Elder Care Heritage Center, after an extended illness.
Born Sept. 12, 1912, in Phillippi, W.Va., she was the daughter of late Robert Marian Williams and Nancy A. Freeman Williams. She was also preceded in death by her husband Elmer Elias "Pap" Lewis, Sr., in May 20, 1993; one daughter, Elma Grace Fletcher; four sisters; and one brother.
Mrs. Lewis was a homemaker. She was Pentecostal by faith.
Surviving are children, Ruth Black, of Princess Anne, James Isaac Lewis, of Baltimore, Elmer E. Lewis, of Baltimore, Charles L. Lewis, Sr., of Jackson Center, Pa., Jackson Woodrow Lewis, Charleston, Pa.; and a brother, Robert Williams, of Pittsburgh, Pa.
Friends may call the Cunningham Funeral Home, Inc., 144 S. Pitt St., Mercer, Pa., on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. Services will be conducted at the funeral home at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Jack E. Benninger, officiating.

JOHN R. KASTNER
CUMBERLAND - John Richard Kastner, 66, of 15710 Winslow St., SW, Bel Air, Cumberland, died Friday, Sept. 3, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Feb. 15, 1933, in Lonaconing, he was the son of the late William H. Kastner and the late Loretta T. (Aman) Kastner. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Ellen (Coyle) Kastner, Oct. 5, 1997.
Mr. Kastner was a retired employee of Cumberland Electric Co. as an electronics technician. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Cresaptown.
Surviving are three daughters, Malia A. Dierken and husband Frederick, Bel Air, Md., Juliann M. Joyner and husband Joseph L., Wilson, N.C., and Melanie L. Kastner, Bel Air, Md.; three brothers, William D. Castner, Cumberland, James F. Kastner, Fort Ashby, W.Va., and Donald A. Kastner, Cumberland; and three grandchildren, John Joseph Joyner, Matthew Coyle Joyner and Rebecca A. Dierken.
At Mr. Kastner's request, he was cremated at the Cumberland Crematory.
A memorial service for family and friends will be held at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Cresaptown, on Tuesday at 1 p.m. with Father Vance Pastorius, OFM, Cap., officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice Home Care of the Western Maryland Health System.
