OLIVE G. WENZEL
Olive Grace Wenzel, 91, McHenry, died Sunday, April 9, 2000, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland.
Born Feb. 4, 1909, in Ft. Hill, Pa., she was a daughter of the late William and Irene (McVay) Romesburg. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carlton D. Wenzel, and a son, Jack W. Wenzel.
Survivors include two brothers; four sisters; and two grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, Pa., where a service was conducted Wednesday, April 12. Interment was in the Union Cemetery, Meyersdale.
MACK G. HART
Mack Gary Hart, 49, died Monday, April 10, 2000, at New Germany.
Born April 4, 1951, in Cumberland, he was the son of Milton G. and Maxine (Martin) Hart, Westernport.
He was a 1969 graduate of Bruce High School and was employed at CSX Railroad, Keyser, W.Va. A U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, he was a member of Victory Post 155 American Legion, Westernport; McCoole VFW 6775; the Black Hawk Tribe 131, Westernport; Tom's Ridge Gun Club, Swanton; First Baptist Church, Westernport; Western Maryland Railroad and Heritage Society; and the Dogwood Flat Rod and Gun Club, Barton.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two daughters, Renea Hart, Raleigh, N.C., and Casey Hart, Cresaptown; and two stepbrothers, Joseph W. Hart, Elkridge, and LaMark Hart, New Market.
Friends were received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, where a service was conducted earlier today, April 13. Interment was in the Bloomington Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials take the form of contributions to the 4 Center Special Care Unit, Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, MD 21502.
EDGAR S. BARTHOLOMEW
Edgar Shelton Bartholomew, 81, Friendsville, died Sunday, April 9, 2000, at West Virginia University Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
Born Feb. 20, 1919, in New Ashtola, Pa., he was a son of the late David and Roxann (Shelton) Bartholomew. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Lorene (Frazee) Bartholomew, on Nov. 17, 1999.
He was a member of Sand Spring Church of God and a long time member of the Friendsville Rotary Club. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was also a member of the American Legion and VFW. He retired after 30 years of service as a car salesman for Casselman Motor Co., Grantsville.
Survivors include one brother, Barton Bartholomew, Bruceton Mills, W.Va.
Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Friendsville, where a service was conducted Wednesday, April 12, with the Rev. Sonny Putt officiating. Interment was in the Blooming Rose Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may be directed to the Northern Garrett County Rescue Squad.
LARRY J. LAPP
Larry Joseph Lapp, 50, Grantsville, died Tuesday, April 11, 2000, at his home.
Born May 10, 1949, in Frostburg, he was a son of Virginia (Tharp) Lapp Butler, Grantsville, and the late George Franklin Lapp. He was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Everett Butler; two brothers, Ralph Lapp and Robert Lapp; and one sister, Sandra Lapp.
He was a member of the Oak Grove Mennonite Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict and was employed as an oiler at the Harbison-Walker Refractories.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Joyce (Holliday) Lapp; two daughters, Latisha Friend and Laryssa Lapp, both of Grantsville; three brothers, George Lapp, Grantsville, John Lapp, Friendsville, and Kedrick Lapp, Springs, Pa.; one sister, Margaret Foy, Grantsville; and two grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, where a service was conducted earlier today, April 13, with the Rev. Joseph Snodgrass officiating. Interment was in the Grantsville Cemetery.

CHERYL E. JOSE
Cheryl E. Jose, 53, Oakland, died Monday, April 10, 2000, at her home.
Born July 5, 1946, in Somerset, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Donald H. "Pansy" Hinebaugh Sr. and Maxine E. (Dixon) Hinebaugh.
She was a member of the Mountain Lake Independent Baptist Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of Proctor Kildow Post 71, American Legion.
Survivors include her husband, Roberto R. Jose; two daughters, Maria L. Watts, Melbourne, Fla., and Linda M. Jose, at home; one sister, Diana Hanlin, Oakland; and two brothers, Donald H. Hinebaugh Jr., Elkridge, and Brian Hinebaugh, Oakland.
A memorial service will be conducted at the Mountain Lake Independent Baptist Church on Sunday, April 16, at 2 p.m., with Pastor Dennis Leatherman officiating.
The Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, is in charge of arrangements.
ELIZABETH S. LOUGHRIE
Elizabeth S. Loughrie, 82, Aurora, W.Va., died Tuesday, April 11, 2000, at the Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home, Oakland.
Born Feb. 28, 1918, in Aurora, she was a daughter of the late Dr. George C. Stemple and Bessie (McClish) Stemple. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Gay Harold Loughrie, in 1968, and one daughter.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Aurora, and along with her late husband, owned and operated the Fairlea Motel and Restaurant in Aurora for more than 40 years.
Surviving are four daughters, Janice Hanline, Oakland, Georgia Parsons, Belmont, W.Va., Angela Bishop, Kingwood, W.Va., and Frances Roth, Aurora; one son, Dennis Loughrie, Aurora; 16 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, Oakland, from 7 to 9 p.m. today, Thursday, and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday. A service will be conducted at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Aurora, on Friday, April 13, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. William Connelly officiating. Interment will follow in the Aurora Cemetery.

AGNES A. SIMPSON
Agnes A. Riggs Simpson, 73, Keyser, W.Va., died Tuesday, April 11, 2000, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
Born Sept. 6, 1926, in Duffy, W.Va., she was a daughter of Fern C. (Casto) Forinash of Heartland of Keyser Nursing Home, and the late James L. Forinash. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Ann Riggs, and her first husband, James W. Riggs.
She retired in 1990 from the Allegany County Board of Education as a cafeteria manager, having worked at Barton Elementary School. She was a charter member of the Christ Memorial Baptist Church, Westernport, a member of the Cresaptown Eagles Ladies Auxiliary, and a volunteer at Heartland of Keyser Nursing Home.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her second husband, Lynn H. Simpson; three sons, James L. Riggs, Philippines, Robert W. Riggs, Bloomington, and Stephen P. Riggs, Statesville, S.C.; one daughter, Rebecca J. Moorehead, Bloomington; two stepsons, Gene Simpson and Gary Simpson, both of Keyser; one stepdaughter, Ginny Wringler, Keyser; two brothers, Denzil Forinash and Larry Forinash, both of Ohio; two sisters, Cathryn Jezowski, Michigan, and Geraldine Woods, Illinois; 12 grand-children; 14 great-grand-children; eight step-grand-children; and five step-great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, from 7 to 9 p.m. today, Thursday, and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday. A service will be conducted at the Christ Memorial Baptist Church, Westernport, on Saturday, April 15, at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Stephen Carr and the Rev. Meredith Shyrock officiating. Interment will be in the Philos Cemetery, Westernport.
REV. OSCAR W. HULL
The Rev. Oscar Walter Hull, 80, Terra Alta, W.Va., died Wednesday, April 12, 2000, at his home.
Born June 12, 1919, in Terra Alta, he was a son of the late Simeon E. and Ida Mae (Haught) Hull. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Barbara K. (Hull) Bryde; and five brothers, Arlie Hull, Otis Hull, David Hull, Elmer Hull, and Archibald Hull.
He was a United Brethren pastor for 40 years. He served charges in Wirt County, W.Va., Tunnelton, W.Va., Buckhannon, W.Va., White Oak, near Terra Alta, and in Loch Lynn. He was a captain in the U.S. Army and served during World War II.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Ermal Geraldine (Cupp) Hull; two daughters, Bonnie Kahly, Terra Alta, and Rema C. White, Jane Lew, W.Va.; one brother, Clyde Hull, Kingwood, W.Va.; two sisters, Pansy Trout, Charlotte, N.C., and Pauline Teets, Troy, N.C.; five grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
Friends will be received at the Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home, Terra Alta, from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, and at the White Oak Church, near Terra Alta, on Saturday, April 15, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m., the time of the service, with the Rev. Charles Teets, the Rev. Paul Sisler, and the Rev. Harry Hebenthal officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, near Terra Alta, where military graveside services will be conducted by members of Preston County VFW posts.
REV. CHESTER G. STEYER
The Rev. Chester G. Steyer, 84, Keyser, W.Va., died Tuesday, April 11, 2000, at Heartland of Keyser Nursing Home.
Born March 4, 1916, in Steyer, he was a son of the late Virginia Thomas Steyer and Nellie (Grimm) Steyer.
He was a retired Methodist minister and a World War II veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Avis (White) Steyer; one son, Thomas G. Steyer, Dallas, Texas; one daughter, Mary Bernard, Charlotte, N.C.; two brothers, Virgil Steyer and Paul Steyer, both of Oakland; and one sister, Thelma White, Oakland.
At the deceased's request, his body was cremated.
A memorial service will be conducted at the White United Methodist Church on Saturday, April 15, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Bill Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the White Church Cemetery.
Friends may call at the church from 10:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Saturday.

ELVIE N. PHENNICIE
Elvie Naomi Phennicie, 69, Frostburg, died Thursday, March 30, 2000, in Washington Hospital Center.
Born Oct. 8, 1930, in Garrett County, she was the daughter of the late Rev. William John Saylor and Mary Ellen (Michael) Wampler. She was also preceded in death by two husbands, Frederick James Rankin, on Sept. 17, 1959, and Ullysses Grant Phennicie, on April 19, 1989; and a brother, Danny Wampler.
She was a member of Cherry Grove Church of the Brethren and attended Calvary Independent Baptist Church. She retired in 1981 as a human service aide from the Department of Social Services and ran a retail grocery store.
Surviving are a son, William James Rankin, Frostburg; a daughter, Wanda Eileen Rankin Lawhorn, Baltimore; a brother, William Ervin Wampler, Garrett County; four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, LaVale, where a service was conducted on Monday, April 3, with Pastor Ken Korns officiating. Interment was in Mt. Carmel Lutheran Church Cemetery, Meyersdale, Pa.
