ELIZABETH HUTCHINSON
CUMBERLAND - Elizabeth H. Hutchinson, 73, of Booth Towers, died Monday, May 10, 1999, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Feb. 26, 1926, in Bedford County Pa., she was the daughter of the late Dewey Troutman and Minerva I. Fisher. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Hutchinson; her stepfather, William G. Shears; and one brother, Leroy Troutman, who was killed in a motorcycle accident at age 14 at Patterson Creek, W.Va.
Mrs. Hutchinson was retired from IBM, Washington, D.C., after 33 years of service.
Surviving are one uncle, Abraham L. Fisher and wife, Madeline, Route 3, Ridgeley, W.Va.; and many cousins and friends.
Friends will be received at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Wednesday from 5 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home Thursday at 11 a.m. with Captain Nancy Barnes officiating.
Interment will be in Fort Ashby Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Robert Fisher, Nathan Fisher, Michael Fisher, Robert Holler, Marvin Logsdon and John Robison.
RUSSELL G. HUTTER
BALTIMORE - Russell Gearhart Hutter, an engineer and college instructor, died of lung cancer Thursday at his Baltimore home. He was 78.
Mr. Hutter, who was raised in Cumberland and graduated from Allegany High School in 1938, served in the 8th Infantry Division in Europe during World War II and was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. After the war, he attended Penn College in Cleveland, Ohio, and graduated summa cum laude in 1949.
He returned to Baltimore, working as an engineer for Baltimore Gas and Electric Company, Bendix-Friez Electric Corporation, Proctor Electric Company and Westinghouse Electric Corporation. He resigned from Westinghouse and taught engineering at then-Catonsville Community College.
Mr. Hutter was president of the Baltimore chapter of Tau Beta Pi, the national engineering fraternity, from 1972 to 1973. He was a member of the American Society for Quality Control Engineers, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the Western Maryland Railroad Historical Society, the Ohr Masonic Lodge of Cumberland and the Boumi Temple of Baltimore.
Mr. Hutter is survived by his wife of 53 years, the former Tresa Vinilli Ireland; a son, Robert G. Hutter, Wellsville, N.Y.; two daughters, Sally H. Barba, Annapolis, and Gale H. Taylor, Wilmington, Del.; a brother, Luther L. Hutter Jr., Cumberland,; and two grandchildren.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Witzke Funeral Home, Catonsville.
HERBERT H. HYDE
LOTHIAN - Herbert Hoover "Jiggs" Hyde, 70, of Lothian, died suddenly, Sept. 17, 1999, in Calvert Memorial Hospital.
Born, Oct. 21, 1928, in Frostburg. He is preceded in death by his wife, Caroline P. Hyde.
Mr. Hyde was a self-employed auto mechanic and was a Korean War Veteran serving with the U.S. Army and he enjoyed sports.
Survivors are sons, Herbert H. Hyde, Jr., of Lothian, Joseph W. Hyde, of Fairhaven, and James E. Hyde, of Lothian; brother, Donnie Hyde, of Frostburg; sisters, Betty Pipping, of Frostburg, and Dorothy Mace, of LaVale; and three grandchildren.
Viewing and services were held in Galesville, Md.
Interment was in the Lakemont Cemetery, Davidsonville.
HOWARD M. ISER
CUMBERLAND - Howard Maurice Iser, 77, of Cumberland, died Friday, Nov. 12, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born June 24, 1922, in Rawlings, he was the son of the late Newton and Edna Iser.
Mr. Iser was a retired plumber. He also was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving are one sister, Frances Fuller, Cumberland; one niece, Betty Servis, Cumberland; one nephew, the Rev. Fred Iser, Flintstone; special friends, Rose Baer, Cumberland, Douglas Baer, Annapolis, and Vicki Espinosa, Buckeystown; and several other nieces and nephews.
At Mr. Iser's request, his body will be donated to medical science. A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.

PATRICIA ANN LOWDERMILK
FRIENDSVILLE - Patricia Ann Lowdermilk, 37, of 293 Teets Road, Friendsville, died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, after a lengthy illness.
Born Sept. 16, 1961, in Meyersdale, Pa., she was a daughter of Robert J. and Katherine E. (Detrick) Lowdermilk, with whom she resided.
Miss Lowdermilk was a member of Sand Spring Church of God and attended the Maple Glade Adult Day Care at Accident. She was employed as a cook for the Wisp, Goehringer's Restaurant, and the Yough Valley Motel.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a brother, Jeffrey Lowdermilk, Friendsville; two sisters, Angela Evans, Friendsville, Amy Hinebaugh, Aberdeen; maternal grandmother, Frances Detrick, Friendsville; paternal grandmother, Amanda Lowdermilk, Friendsville; one niece, Stephanie; and three nephews, Brian, Kenny and Nicholas.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., Friendsville, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted in the funeral home on Saturday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Philip Geoghan officiating.
Interment will be in Sand Spring Cemetery.

DAVID C. HALLENBECK
FROSTBURG - David Charles Hallenbeck, 58, of Frostburg, formerly of Arequipa, Peru, and Peekskill, N.Y., died Tuesday, July 13, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital after a lengthy treatment for lung cancer at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore.
Born Aug. 22, 1940, in Peekskill, he was the son of the late Robert Hallenbeck and Dorothy Hallenbeck, residing in Peekskill, N.Y.
Mr. Hallenbeck graduated high school in Peekskill. He received his bachelor of science degree in Engineering in 1962 from Union College in Schenectady, N.Y. He was a field engineer employed by the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory and RMS Technologies Inc. in the NASA satellite tracking project for 35 years. He lived and worked in locations all over the world. Mr. Hallenbeck served in Curacao, Australia, Hawaii, Tucson, Ariz., and for the past 28 years in Arequipa. He was a station manager for NASA LASER Tracking Station, Arequipa.
While in Arequipa, he was an integral part of the community. He was president of Rotary International in Arequipa, and a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers. Mr. Hallenbeck was an avid golfer who was a member of the Arequipa Golf Club for 20 years. Additionally, he was a member of the German Club of Arequipa, Club International of Arequipa, Club Mejia, Peruvian/North American Cultural Institute (ICPNA), Peruvian/German Cultural Institute; Alianza Francesa, Peruvian Naval Cultural Society, and Club de Arequipa.
In addition to his mother, surviving are his wife of 26 years, Sonia Fuentes de Hallenbeck; three sons, Charles E. Hallenbeck, Frostburg, Robert M. Hallenbeck and Richard D. Hallenbeck, both of Arequipa; and one brother, James Hallenbeck, Peekskill.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at noon at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Frostburg, with Fr. Alfred E. Cutagar, S.J. as celebrant.
