WILLIAM B. SEVERE
William Bruce Severe, 72, Terra Alta, W.Va., died Monday, April 3, 2000, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland.
Born Oct. 22, 1927, in Crellin, he was a son of the late Albert and Lora (Tasker) Severe. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Dale Severe.
He was a member of the Terra Alta Baptist Church and was a retired coal miner. He served in the United States Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member and past commander of the Aurora-Terra Alta VFW Post 578, Terra Alta, and the Terra Alta AF&AM.
Survivors include one son, C. Steve Severe, Oakland; seven daughters, Linda Gayle Watson, Longview, Texas, Brenda Donham, Oakland, Barbara McCartney, Corinth, W.Va., Elizabeth Daniels, Oakland, Debbie Raynovich, Swanton, Kimberly Weimer, Aurora, W.Va., and Teresa Klippinger, Deer Park; one brother, Robert Severe, Terra Alta; two sisters, Maxine Sanders, Oakland, and Bonnie Thoman, South Carolina; 19 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home, Terra Alta, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today, Thursday. A service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, April 7, at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Richard W. Tepper officiating. Interment will follow in the Terra Alta Cemetery.
Military and Masonic graveside services will be conducted by Preston County VFW posts and Masonic members.
REV. HAL R. ROTRUCK
The Rev. Hal R. Rotruck, 45, Huntingdon, Pa., died Tuesday, April 4, 2000, at his home.
Born Aug. 24, 1954, in Keyser, W.Va., he was a son of Mary Helen (Llewellyn) Rotruck, Westernport, and the late Durus Franklin Rotruck.
He was currently serving as the pastor of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Huntingdon. He was a former pastor at Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Bedford, Pa., the First United Methodist Church and Moore United Methodist Church, Parsons, W.Va., and the Bloomington United Methodist Charge.
He was a graduate of Keyser High School, Potomac State College in Keyser, Southeastern College in Lakeland, Fla., and Asbury Theological Seminary, Wilmore, Ky.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Kathy A. (Kooken) Rotruck, whom he married July 31, 1976; two daughters, Anna Elizabeth Rotruck and Shelley Dawn Rotruck, both at home; one son, Joshua Micah Rotruck, at home; two brothers, Mark Rotruck, Selbyville, and Chris Rotruck, Keyser; and one sister, Jeani Tiano, Clarksburg, W.Va.
The family will receive friends in the Fireside Room of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, 1019 Moore St., Huntingdon, after 5 p.m. today, Thursday, and from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m., the time of the service, on Friday, April 7, with Pastor Palmer L. Zerbe officiating.
An interment service is set for Saturday, April 8, in Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.

MARION M. LANCASTER
Marion Marcella Lancaster, 75, Mt. Storm, W.Va., died Friday, May 19, 2000, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
Born Dec. 6, 1924, in Emoryville, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Walter and Velma (Iman) Hanlin.
She was a member of the Cross and Mount Storm United Methodist Church and the Mount Storm VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband, John K. Lancaster; two sons, Kenneth Lancaster, Elk Garden, W.Va., and James Lancaster, Baltimore; four daughters, Sandra Miller, Richmond, Va., Linda Lancaster, Keyser, W.Va., and Marion Droppleman and Janet Simmons, both of Elk Garden; one sister, Norma Kitzmiller, Mount Storm; three brothers, Robert L. Hanlin, Cambridge, Donald M. Hanlin, Mount Storm, and Russell "Biddy" Hanlin, Martinsburg, W.Va.; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Friends were received at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, Kitzmiller, where a service was conducted Sunday, May 21, with the Rev. William Anderson officiating. Interment followed in the Mount Storm Cemetery.
CLARENCE S. LAWSON
Clarence Stanley Lawson, 80, Friendsville, died Tuesday, May 16, 2000, at his home.
Born Feb. 7, 1920, in Mountain Dale, W.Va., he was a son of the late Robert and Rena (Guthrie) Lawson. He was also preceded in death by an infant son, James Gary Lawson; four brothers, Sheldon, Robert, Russell, and Ralph Lawson; and one granddaughter.
He was a sawyer and timberman and was a member of the Mountain Dale Church of the Brethren.
Survivors include his former wife, Faye (Teets) Lawson; five daughters, Janet Sisler, Swanton, Victoria Lindsey, Bruceton Mills, W.Va., Eva Minadeo, West Farmington, Ohio, Karen Rutherford, Martinsburg, W.Va., and Dana Lawson, Bruceton Mills; two brothers, Chester Lawson and Everett Lawson, both of Bruceton Mills; one sister, Evelyn Kelly, Bruceton Mills; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

MARGARET E. KNOTTS
Margaret E. Knotts, 86, Gormania, W.Va., died Thursday, May 18, 2000, at the Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home, Oakland.
Born Sept. 8, 1913, in Bayard, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Thomas E. and Mary E. (Williams) Wilson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John H. Knotts, in 1967, and two sons, Robert L. and Jackie H. Wilson.
Surviving are two daughters, Jean Cosner, Bayard, and Mary Jane Bagot, Gettysburg, Pa.; two brothers, William Wilson, Denver, Colo., and Kenneth Wilson, Baltimore; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

BETTY CRAMER
Betty (Jackson) Nichols Cramer, 72, Highland, Mich., formerly of Kitzmiller, died Wednesday, April 26, 2000, at the Huron Valley Hospital.
Born Aug. 10, 1927, in West Vindex, she was a daughter of the late William Jackson and Lula (Coulter) Jackson DeCost. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Bernadine Jackson, and one brother, Robert Jackson.
Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Daniel Cramer Sr.; one daughter, Gaye Savich, Waterford, Mich.; three sons, Daniel Cramer Jr., Highland, Richard Nichols, River Rough, Mich., and William Nichols, White Lake, Mich.; one brother, Richard DeCost, Highland; one sister, Gaye Keller, Higgins Lake, Mich.; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

GRACE M. FRIEND
Grace Marie Friend, 86, Oakland, died Tuesday, May 23, 2000, at Cortland Acres Nursing Home, Thomas, W.Va.
Born Oct. 19, 1913, in Hoyes, she was a daughter of the late Alvin and Nora Fike. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Montell Friend.
She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Oakland.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary F. Masters, Ronceverte, W.Va., and Martha L. Masters, Oakland; one son, Donald L. Friend, Oakland; three sisters, Opal Crowe, Oakland, June Rodeheaver, Morgantown, W.Va., and Freda Windell, Chesapeake, Va.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, Oakland, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday. A service will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday, May 27, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Roger Harrison and the Rev. John Crowe officiating. Interment will follow in the Hoyes Cemetery.
VELMA L. MCKENZIE
Velma Louise McKenzie, 90, Frostburg, died Tuesday, May 23, 2000, at the Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville.
Born April 8, 1910, in Garrett County, she was a daughter of the late James C. and Anna May (Crowe) Wilson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold L. McKenzie Sr., in 1984; one daughter, Norma L. Keller; two infant sons, Jackie and Ronnie McKenzie; six brothers, Ivan, Victor, Herbert, Argyl, Jerome "Dan," and George Wilson; one sister, Fern (Wilson) Thomas; and one grandson.
She was a homemaker. She attended the Trinity Assembly of God Church, Midlothian, and the Garrett County Senior Citizens.
Survivors include three sons, Donald E. McKenzie, Harold L. McKenzie Jr., and Roger D. McKenzie, all of Frostburg; two daughters, Elaine A. McClung, Fort Ashby, W.Va., and Doris L. McKenzie, Frostburg; two sisters, Mabel McKenzie, Frostburg, and Pansy Merrill, Barton; and 21 grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg. A service was conducted at the Trinity Assembly of God Church earlier today, May 25, with the Rev. Jimmie Blair officiating. Interment was in the Emmanuel Methodist Cemetery, Finzel.

JUANITA F. TUCK
Juanita Frances Tuck, 60, Salisbury, Pa., died Wednesday, May 24, 2000, at her home.
Born March 13, 1940, in Finzel, she was a daughter of the late Chester Brant and Rena (Minnick) Brant McKenzie.
She was Catholic by faith. She was employed as a front end manager for Grantsville Foodland.
Survivors include her husband, Ollie C. Tuck; two sons, Michael Tuck and James Tuck, both of Salisbury; five brothers, William Brant, Silver Spring, Chester Brant, College, Park, Ervin Brant, Lonaconing, Robert Brant, Riverdale, and John Brant, Zihlman; three sisters, Evelyn Rush and Darlene Bone, both of Frostburg, and Cheryl Garvey, Beltsville; and three grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today, Thursday. A service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, May 26, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Paul Byrnes officiating. Interment will follow in St. Ann's Cemetery, Avilton.
THURL W. TOWER
Thurl W. Tower, 90, Oakland, died Wednesday, May 24, 2000, at the Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home, Oakland.
Born Nov. 10, 1909, in Oakland, he was a son of the late Edward Z. Tower and Dr. Lorilla F. (Bullard) Tower. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Delmar R. (Burns) Tower, in 1990, and by a brother, Roger Tower.
He built, owned, and operated the Gnomewood Supplies, the Deep Creek Shopping Center, and the Arrowhead Resort. He was a graduate of the University of Maryland, College of Engineering, and was an architect, engineer, and builder. He built more than 20 of the original Deep Creek Lake homes in the 1930s and '40s.
During World War II, he developed munitions as an engineer at the Kelly Spring-field plant.
He was a licensed realtor and boat dealer, having constructed small crafts for celebrities including Albert Einstein and Dr. Jonas Salk. He supervised the construction of many commercial buildings in Oakland in the 1950s and '60s, including the First United Bank and Trust main office.
Survivors include two sons, T. William Tower II, Ellicott City, and M. Edward Tower, Washington, D.C.; and one granddaughter.
Friends will be received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, from 10 to 11 a.m., the time of the service, on Saturday, May 27, with the Rev. Fr. Chip Lee officiating. Interment will be in the Oakland Cemetery.
DAVID L. BUROW
David Lee Burow, 49, Grantsville, died Wednesday, May 24, 2000, at his home.
Born Jan. 3, 1951, in Meyersdale, Pa., he was a son of Dorothy (Butler) Burow and the late Earl Burow.
He was a multicraft maintenance employee of Westvaco and a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Mary Lesta (Kelso) Burow; two brothers, Fred E. Burow, Great Falls, Mont., and Robert K. Burow, Grantsville; and one sister, Glenna K. Gilpin, Grantsville.
A memorial service will be conducted at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, on Saturday, May 27, at 4 p.m., with the Rev. David Fetter officiating.
