WILDA W. MASSI
OAKLAND - Wilda Wolford Massi, 57, of Oakland, passed away July 14, 1999, at her residence.
She was born Dec. 18, 1941, in Thomas, W.Va., a daughter of the late Harry Wolford and Orpha Grace Flanagan Wolford.
Surviving are her husband, Thomas O. Massi Jr.; a daughter, Maria Matthias, Oakland; and a brother, Harry Wolford, Huntington, W.Va.
Mrs. Massi was Director of Pupil Services for the Board of Education. She taught in the Garrett County Schools for 30 years. She served as principal of Northern Middle School and vice principal of Southern Middle School. She was past president of Delta Kappa Gamma. Mrs. Massi was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Oakland.
Friends will be received at Hinkle Funeral Home, Davis, W.Va., Friday, July 16, from 5 to 8 p.m. A Vigil Service will be held Friday evening at 7 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, July 17, 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Oakland, with Father Don Parson as celebrant.
Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Thomas, W.Va.

MADELINE B. MASTERS
OAKLAND - Madeline B. "Dolly" Masters, 75, of Boy Scout Road, Oakland, died Saturday, Aug. 14, 1999, at her home.
Born on July 6, 1924, in Lewis County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late James S. and Pamela J. (Long) Messenger. She also was preceded in death by two husbands, Hubert Hefner, Sr. in 1964, and Clifford Masters in 1973; one son, Hubert Hefner Jr.; one daughter, Delores J. Hefner; two brothers, Gilbert Messenger and Sherman Messenger; one sister, Febie Butcher; and one great-grandchild.
She was a member of the Rocky Drean Assembly of God Church, Oakland, for 26 years.
She is survived by two daughters, Delane Donaldson, Weston, W.Va., and Evelyn Marsh, Bellevue, Ohio; two sons, Ray Hefner, Swanton, and James Masters, Oakland; two sisters, Stella Cole, Wooster, Ohio, and Martha Burkhammer, Bellefontaine, Ohio; three brothers, Clarence Messenger and Raymond Messenger, both of Smithville, Ohio, and Daniel Messenger, Alum Bridge, W.Va.; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Services will be conducted at the Rocky Drean Assembly of God Church, Oakland, on Monday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. William Skipper officiating. Interment will be in the Friend Cemetery, Oakland.

HUBERT G. NICOL
LONACONING - Hubert "Rip" Gibson Nicol, 74, of 17303 New Memory Lane, formerly Charlestown Street, Lonaconing, died Monday, March 1, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born Jan. 1, 1925, in Lonaconing, he was a son of the late James Andrew Nicol and Dolly (Symons) Nicol. He also was preceded in death by one brother, Calvin A. Nicol.
Hubert was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He served with the 567th Anti Aircraft Artillery, Automatic Weapons, and was awarded the Purple Heart on March 27, 1945. Hubert was retired from Westvaco Corp. with 37 years of service as a carpenter. An avid baseball fan, he pitched for Westvaco, Lonaconing and Barton ball clubs. Hubert also was an active member of First United Methodist Church, Lonaconing, where he served on the parsonage committee, and on the Pastoral Relations committee. He was a member of the American Legion.
Hubert is survived by his wife of 51 years, Phyllis E. (Beeman) Nicol; four children, Yvonne and husband Paul Green, Uniontown, Ohio, Wayne and wife Marie Nicol, Lonaconing, Karen and husband William Clark, Baltimore, and Gayle Nicol, Lonaconing; five grandchildren, Brian and Deron Green, Briana and Andrew Nicol, and Christopher G. Clark; one sister, Geraldine Watkinson, Westernport; two brothers, Jack and wife Dorothy Nicol, Clarkston, Mich., and Eldon and wife Carole Nicol, Owings, Md.; his mother-in-law, Catherine May (Timney) Beeman, a resident at Egle Nursing Home, Lonaconing; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing, Wednesday, March 3, 1999, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church, Lonaconing, Thursday, March 4, 1999, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Richard Mortimore officiating.
Interment will follow in the Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow Mills, Md. Graveside military honors will be accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.

The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to the service.
WILLIAM BEVAN PRICHARD
FROSTBURG - William Bevan Prichard, age 76, of 9 W. College Ave., Frostburg, and Innisbrook Resort, Tarpon Springs, Fla., passed away on June 11, 1999, at Northside Hospital, Youngstown, Ohio, following an extended illness.
Born Aug. 14, 1922, in Frostburg, he was the son of the late E. Irvin and Annie (Blank) Prichard. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Prichard and Irvin Prichard; and two sisters, Louise Weaver and Helen Cook.
Mr. Prichard and his late brother Bob owned and managed the Prichard Hardware Store and Crestmont Men's Clothing Store in Frostburg.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Frostburg, and Palm Harbor Presbyterian Church.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He graduated from Penn State University in 1943, earning a B.S. degree in Business Administration. Bill played varsity soccer and was a member of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity.
Bill was an avid golfer and a founding member of Maplehurst Country Club. He was a member of the Farrady Post #24 American Legion, the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #348, and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge #470, all of Frostburg. He was Past President of the Pennsylvania and Atlantic Seaboard Hardware Association.
Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Betty Ann (Thomas) Prichard; four daughters, Karen Barnes, Frostburg, Susan Nadenichek, Linda Brodell and Carol Haering, all of Warren, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; one sister, Evelyn Smith, Advance, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. The family requests that memorials be directed to The American Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor's choice.
LEANNAH M. MATTHEWS
CUMBERLAND - LeAnnah Marjorie Matthews, 74, of 514 Franklin St., Cumberland, passed away Tuesday, April 13, 1999, at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown.
Born Jan. 19, 1925, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Harry Washington Matthews and the late Elleanor Amelia (Schade) Matthews.
Miss Matthews dedicated her life to the nursing profession. She was a graduate of Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She was first employed by the Metropolitan Insurance Co. as a home care nurse in Connecticut. She returned to Cumberland in the early 1950s, joining the staff of Memorial Hospital, where she served as Nursing Supervisor in Obstetrics, teaching nursing until 1972. For the following 17 years, she was an instructor for Associate Nursing Degrees program at ACC from where she retired in 1989. She was an active member in the Maryland State Nurses Association, and the Western Maryland Memorial Hospital Nurses Alumni Association, where she served as an officer and lifetime member. She was a member and supporter of the Zion Reformed United Church of Christ; a member of the church's Womens Guild; and a member of the Brookman's Sunday School Class since childhood.
She was the last member of her immediate family, but is survived by numerous cousins and special friends.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Ruth S. Kershner officiating.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Burial Park.
MARY B. MATT
ORANGE, Va. - Mary Beatrice Matt, 93, formerly of 804 Maplewood Lane, Cumberland, and Frostburg, and residing in Orange, Va., died Monday, March 1, 1999, at the Culpepper Hospital in Culpepper, Va.
Born Aug. 14, 1905, in Ocean Hill, Md., she was the daughter of the late Owen McGreevy and the late Julia A. (Kreitzburg) McGreevy. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence I. Matt.
Mrs. Matt was a millenary manager at Lazarus, Rosenbaum's and Peskins stores. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and Sacred Heart Hospital Auxiliary. She was a volunteer at the blood bank for the American Red Cross.
Surviving are a daughter, Judy Barnes and husband John, Locust Grove, Va.; two grandchildren, Dr. John Lawrence Barnes, D.C., and wife Sharon, Chantilly, Va., and Mrs. Jennifer Ann Hamer and husband Peter, Fairfax, Va.; and four great-grandchildren.
