ALICE A. MCCORMICK
BARTON - Alice A. McCormick, 93, of 18910 Legislative Road, Barton, died on Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999, at the Egle Nursing Home, Lonaconing.

Born Dec. 16, 1905, in Barton, she was the daughter of the late Dennis and Emma (Richards) McCormick. She was also preceded in death by six brothers and one sister.

Miss McCormick belonged to the Barton Presbyterian Church and was one of the oldest members. She was a graduate of Barton High School, Frostburg Normal School, and the University of Maryland. She was a veteran teacher and principal for 42 years. She began her teaching career at the Frost School along the McMullen Highway. From there she was transferred to the Barton Elementary School where she taught for one year under the late Gilbert C. Cooling. She was then made Principal of the Moscow School, moving on to the McCoole and Midland Schools.

When Valley High School opened in 1953, five elementary schools were consolidated and moved into the former Central High School building. Miss McCormick then became Principal of Central Elementary School for fourteen years where she retired in 1967.

She was a member of the Maryland and National Teachers Association and Barton Senior Citizens.

Surviving are nieces, Patty Haines, Emma Diamond, Alice Neff, Barbara Moses, Margaret Hawkins; nephews, Robert Michael McCormick, Dale Fisher; special great-nieces, Michelle Green, Lauren Haines; great nephew, W. Michael McCormick; and several other great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family will receive friends at the Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton, on Monday, Nov. 8, from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, Nov. 9, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the chapel on Wednesday, Nov. 10, at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Peter Leathersich, officiating.

Interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow Mills.

In remembrance of Miss McCormick, contributions may be made to the Tri-Towns Rescue, Westernport, the Barton Presbyterian Church, or a charity of your choice.

Pallbearers will be Michael McCormick, Larry Russell, Butch Snyder, D.L. Ritchie, Brian Green, Darius Green, David Lauder, and George Lauder.

KEITH S. OURS
CUMBERLAND - Keith Seymour Ours, 68, of 313 Pennsylvania Ave., Cumberland, died Saturday, Nov. 20, 1999, at Memorial Hospital.

Born Aug. 1, 1931, in Petersburg, W.Va., he was the son of the late James Seymour Ours and Imogene (Mongold) Buckley.

Keith was a corporal in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Berlin, Germany, where he devoted his military service to a West German orpahnage.

Surviving are one son and one daughter, both of Chicago; three brothers, William L. Ours, of LaVale, and children Michael Ours, Joyce Ours, Sherry Neff and Belinda Davis; Jack Ours, of Corriganville; and John Ours and wife Charlotte, Corriganville, and children David Ours, Tammy Collette and Sammy Ours; three sisters, Wanda Thomas and husband Dave, Mount Savage, and children Renee Wolfe, Michelle Fisher and Stacy Thomas; Judy Ours of California; and Deanne Ours of Romney, W.Va.; one stepsister and two stepbrothers; several great-nieces and -nephews; and three special friends, Benny Aguallo and Orville James, both of Cumberland, and David Nazelrod of LaVale.

Keith was an avid hunter and enjoyed literature and music. He was a loving and generous person. He will be greatly missed.

At Keith's request, his remains will be cremated, followed by burial at the Maryland State Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap.

The Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., Cumberland, is in charge of arrangements.

ANITA M. NATALE
CUMBERLAND - Anita Marie Natale, 70, of North Centre Street, Cumberland, died Thursday, July 29, 1999, at her home.

Born Oct. 9, 1928, in Paw Paw, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Cleda Blackburn. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Paul Natale; one son, Terrence Eugene Natale; and one grandson, Zap "Philip" Natale.

Mrs. Natale was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

Surviving are one son, Robert Christopher Natale and wife Judy, Derwood; two sisters, Ruby Twigg, LaVale, and Cecilia Lambert, Cumberland; three grandchildren, Angela Marie Natale and husband Ira Weinstein, Baltimore, Nadina Natale, Australia, and Bradley Christopher Natale, Derwood; and one great-granddaughter, Ellie Natale Weinstein.

At Mrs. Natale's request, she will be cremated. A memoial mass will be conducted at a later date.

The Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, is in charge of arrangements.

GEORGE ROY 'MAC' MCCRAY
FLINTSTONE - George Roy 'Mac' McCray, 81, of Flintstone, died Monday, March 8, 1999, at Devlin Manor Nursing Home.

Born May 19, 1917, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Frank and Grace (Kraus) McCray.

Mr. McCray was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Air Force. He continued his military career, retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant.

He then owned and operated McCray's Garage, also having the Gravely Tractor franchise.

He was a member of Flintstone United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia (Brooks) McCray; three children, Stephen McCray and wife, Lois, Upper Marlboro, Dr. Jennifer McGiverin and husband, Roland, Terra Haute, Ind., and Jeffrey McCray and wife, Bonnie, Flintstone; three brothers, Edward McCray, Ellerslie, Frank McCray, Baltimore, and Homer McCray, Fort Wayne, Ind.; one sister, Elsie McCray, Corriganville; and four grandchildren, Kellie and Brian McGiverin and Megan and Collins McCray.

Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

A committal service will be held in the Chapel at Maryland State Veterans Cemetery, Rocky Gap, on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Fred Iser officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the local Combined Veterans Honor Guard.

Serving as pallbearers will be Lawrence Knott Jr., Guy Stonestreet Jr., Robert Heavner, Paul Porta, Ron Kifer Sr., and Ted Robinette Sr.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Flintstone Volunteer Fire Department, Flintstone, MD 21530.

CATHERINE L. MCCULLOUGH
FRIENDSVILLE - Catherine L. McCullough, 85, of 3950 Bear Creek Road, Friendsville, died Sunday, April 4, 1999, at Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville.

Born March 2, 1914, in McHenry, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (McGettigan) Sebold. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle H. McCullough, in 1975.

Mrs. McCullough was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Oakland, and Woodmen of the World Camp 45, Friendsville, and was a homemaker.

She is survived by a son, Joseph Friend, Accident; two daughters, Patricia A. Friend, Beaver Falls, Pa., and Dorothy Smith, Accident; two sisters, Bernadette Bittinger, Mountain Lake Park, and Leona Dennis, Uniontown, Pa.; three grandsons, Blaine Joseph Friend Jr., William Joseph Friend and John Joseph Friend; and a great-grandson, Trenton David Friend.

Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., Grantsville, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A Catholic Prayer Service will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Don Parson officiating.

Interment will be in Garrett County Memorial Gardens, Oakland.

Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Hospice of Garrett County.

LLOYD J. MCCULLOUGH
HANCOCK - Lloyd Joseph McCullough, 83, of Hancock, formerly of Cumberland, died Thursday, Oct. 14, 1999, at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown.

Born Aug. 17, 1916, in Hancock, he was the son of the late Lee and Mary Elizabeth (Bishop) McCullough. He also was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary (Trozzo) McCullough and one brother, Grey McCullough.

Mr. McCullough was retired from the B & O Railroad from the Fireman Oiler Craft.

Surviving are his second wife, Dorothy S. Wolford McCullough; one son, Robert L. McCullough and wife Carlene, Bedford, Pa.; four stepsons, Earl F. Eaton Jr. and wife Jeanne, Flintstone, Robert Wolford and wife Wanda, Flintstone, Ted Wolford and wife Pat, Hagerstown, and Mike Wolford, Hancock; five stepdaughters, JoAnn Michael and husband Donald, Cumberland, Mary Ann Bishop, Hagerstown, Faye Reed, Hancock, Irma Sequin, Floresville, Texas, and Mary Lou McGill and husband Allan, Williamsport; one brother, William McCullough and wife Lena, Cumberland; one sister, Dorothy Snyder and husband Melvin, Short Gap, W.Va.; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, great-great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted there Monday at 11 a.m. with the Pastor Dave Hattenfield officiating.

Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland.

Pallbearers will be Tony McCullough, Jerry Michael, Tyler Michael, Richie Biser, Mike Wolford and Allan McGill.
