REGINA A. MCGREEVY
CUMBERLAND - Regina A. "Gina" McGreevy, 33, of Cumberland, died Sunday, Nov. 28, 1999, at Memorial Hospital.
Born June 2, 1966, in Summit, N.J., she was the daughter of H. Wayne Pacine, Chantilly, Va., and Rosalie (Harris) Griffith, Vienna, Va.
Mrs. McGreevy was employed at Friends Aware. She was a graduate of Robinson High School in Fairfax, Va., where she was the Virginia State Gymnastics Champion. A nationally ranked gymnast, she had competed in several national competitions. Additionally, she was a swimming and diving competitor who had won several championships. Gina was a Cum Laude graduate of West Virginia University. She had received her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1988 with a specialty in marketing. While residing in Cumberland, she was a gymnastics instructor, and she was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
Gina also is survived by her loving husband and son, Edward J. "Ted" McGreevy Jr. and Edward J. "E.J." McGreevy III; her stepfather, Richard L. Griffith; her stepmother, Jolin Yeung; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Edward and Evangeline McGreevy, Baltimore Pike; a grandmother, Minnie F. Harris, Hopewell. Va.; and two sisters, Elizabeth Foster Pacine, Clifton, Va., and Treva Marie Pacine, Arlington, Va.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Christian Wake will be conducted on Wednesday at 9 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Catholic Church on Thursday at noon with Monsignor Thomas Bevan as celebrant. Friends will be received at the church one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
OLIVE G. PINAULT (PINAULT)
CATONSVILLE - Olive G. Pinault, 95, died Sunday, July 18, at Mariner Healthcare in Catonsville.
Born in Nova Scotia, she was the widow of textile executive and writer, Robert W. Pinault, who died in 1990. They were married
in 1925 and had lived in Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Maryland, North Carolina and South Carolina before retiring to Point Harbor, N.C., where they lived for 13 years. They later moved to Richmond, Va., and then to Catonsville.
Accomplished in sewing, knitting, and home decoration, Mrs. Pinault was a registered nurse and one-time president of the Greenville, S.C., nursesŐ registry. She also wrote poetry and short essays and loved to do word puzzles up to the time of her final illness.
Mrs. Pinault is survived by her daughters, Eleanor Dean of Catonsville and Jeanne Pinault of Annapolis, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be held in Elizabeth City, N.C., at a date to be arranged.
CARL W. MCKENZIE
FROSTBURG - Carl William McKenzie, 65, of the Frostburg Village Nursing Care Center, died Sunday, Jan. 24, 1999, at the nursing home.
Born Oct. 21, 1933, in Finzel, he was the son of the late Murrell C. and Edna M. (McKenzie) McKenzie. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Wayne McKenzie.
Mr. McKenzie was a self-employed truck driver. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Cumberland.
Surviving are his wife, Norma (Burkett) McKenzie; two sons, James Allen McKenzie and wife, Gail, Mount Savage, and Carl William McKenzie Jr. and wife, Susy, Eckhart; three daughters, Karen Sue Shoemaker and husband, Larry, Mount Savage, Diane Marie Valentine and husband, Andre, Cumberland, and Brenda Lee Sturtz and husband, Larry, Mount Savage; five brothers, Paul, Darrell, Delbert, David, Murrell Jr., and John McKenzie; four sisters, Virginia Shriver, Eileen Miller, Donna Cutter and Janet Stairs; 12 grandchildren, Cherie, Jim, Chris, Holly, Joshua, Chase, Jeremy, Jason, Britnay, Zachary, Marissa and Brandan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Ronald Boyce officiating.
Following the services, Mr. McKenzie will be cremated in accordance with his wishes.
EDGAR L. MCKENZIE
LONACONING - Edgar Lewis McKenzie, 73, of 54 E. Main St., Lonaconing, died Saturday, Oct. 16, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born Dec. 29, 1925, in Garrett County, he was the son of the late James Harris McKenzie and Jeanetta Frances (Painter) McKenzie. He also was preceded in death by five sisters, Mabel Beechie, Evelyn Leary, Margaret McKenzie, Leota Wampler, and Freda Wiley; three brothers, Frank McKenzie, James McKenzie and Lawrence McKenzie; two daughters; and one granddaughter, Amber Taylor.
Mr. McKenzie was a self-employed carpenter, H & D McKenzie Home Improvements, Lonaconing, and a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, where he served in South East Asia, Philippines and Shanghai, China. He received two Purple Hearts and a Medal of Valor. He was a live member of Disabled American Veterans, Rincon Renegades 18, of Tucson, Ariz.
Surviving are two daughters, Bonnie Taylor and husband Brian, Tenn., and Pam Lecount and husband Gilbert, Calif.; two sons, Edgar McKenzie Jr., Hamet, Calif., and David B. McKenzie and wife Heidi, Lonaconing; one stepdaughter, Bonnie Mitchell, Lonaconing; 12 grandchildren, Halley McKenzie, Ryan McKenzie, Samuel McKenzie, John McKenzie, Billy Tamburo, Robert Tamburo, Andrew Lecount, Filicity Lecount, Sara McKenzie, Brittani McKenzie, Kathy Mitchell, and Missy Wilhelm; four great-grandsons; one great-great granddaughter; special friend, Emma Madeline McKenzie, Lonaconing; five sisters, Agnes McKenzie and Bula McKenzie, both of Akron, Ohio, Imogene Snyder, Export, Pa., Jeanetta Yoder, Baltimore, and Joy Perkins, Midland; one brother, Glenn McKenzie, Eckhart; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing, Tuesday, Oct. 19, 1999, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted there on Wednesday, Oct. 20, 1999, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. George Loar officiating.
Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Garrett County.
Graveside military rites will be accorded by Farrady Post #24, American Legion, Frostburg.
Pallbearers will be Dave Hershberger, Shawn Shumaker, Scott Robosson, John Elmer Ravenscroft, Joseph Robosson and Jeff Nesbit.
MARY ELLEN PRESTON
CUMBERLAND - Mary Ellen Preston, 45, of Cumberland, went to be with the Angels on Sunday, June 27, 1999, at her residence.
Born Feb. 26, 1954, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of Carol E. (Moon) Goldsworthy, Cumberland, and the late Paul R. Goldsworthy. She also was preceded in death by one brother, Benjamin Goldsworthy.
Mrs. Preston was a self-employed seamstress who did alterations for several area department stores. She was a 1972 graduate of Allegany High School and attended Allegany College, where she was a political science major. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Fort Hill High School Band Boosters, and the Meals on Wheels program.
In addition to her mother, surviving are her husband, Paul A. Preston; one daughter, Carol JoAnn Preston and her daughter, Julia E. Preston, at home; one son, John P. Preston, Cumberland; two sisters, Joan L. Martin and husband, Jack, Cumberland, Elizabeth Anne Anastasio, Cumberland; three brothers, Paul F. Goldsworthy and wife, Rebecca, Cumberland, James D. Goldsworthy, Cumberland, Charles R. Goldsworthy and wife, Tracey, Cumberland; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and several wonderful friends that loved her.
Friends will be received at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Christian Wake service will be conducted Tuesday at 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Maryšs Catholic Church, Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Fr. Thomas R. Bevan as celebrant.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Paul Preston, John Preston, Paul F. Goldsworthy, Paul A. Goldsworthy, Anthony Anastasio and Todd Martin. Honorary pallbearers will be Benjamin Anastasio and Zachary Goldsworthy.

CARA M. PETRINI
ANNAPOLIS - Cara Margaret Petrini, 16, of Annapolis, formerly of Pittsburgh, Pa., died Saturday, April 10, 1999, at Sinai Hospital, Baltimore, of bacterial spinal meningitis.
Born Oct. 1, 1982, in Annapolis, she was the daughter of Cynthia Esposito Haskins and stepfather, David R. Haskins, Gibsonia, Pa., and father, John H. Petrini, Annapolis.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Edgar J. and Carmella Petrini; and her great-grandmother, Marrianna Esposito.
Miss Petrini was a student at Annapolis High School. She attended Wexford Elementary School and Pine Richland Middle School. Her hobbies included horseback riding and photography, and she enjoyed playing the guitar.
Surviving in addition to her parents are two brothers, Eddie Petrini, Annapolis, and Adrian Huntington, North Carolina; a stepbrother, Adrian Haskins, Pittsburgh, Pa.; a sister, Lauren K. Haskins, Gibsonia; and maternal grandparents, John and Margaret Esposito, Cumberland.

Meningitis is an infection that occurs within spinal cord fluid and the fluid that surrounds the brain. Symptoms of the disease include: high fever, severe headache, nausea, vomiting, stiffness of the neck and shoulders, or a skin rash, which includes many little bright red spots.
