JEANETTE R. MCKINNEY
MAGGIE VALLEY, NC - Jeanette Rose McKinney, 70, of Maggie Valley, died Thursday, Nov. 4, 1999, at Haywood Regional Medical Center, Clyde, NC.
Born Feb. 23, 1929, in Bedford, Pa., she was the daughter of Faye (Rose) Elliott, of Canton, NC, and the late Vernon Elliott. She was also preceded in death by a son, Frank Mattingly, and a brother, Lee Elliott.
Mrs. McKinney and her husband managed the Maggie Crest Motel, Maggie Valley, NC. She was a member of Centerville United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Kenneth "Casey" McKinney; three daughters, Louise Sirna and husband, Mike, Front Royal, Va., Charlotte Smith, Maggie Valley, and Lorrie Ackerman and husband, Grayson, Short Gap, W.Va.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Tom Landaker officiating.
Interment will be in Centerville Union Cemetery, Centerville, Pa.
MILDRED S. MCMILLAN
CUMBERLAND - Mildred S. McMillan, 89, formerly of 717 Montgomery Ave., Cumberland, died Sunday, August 8, 1999, at Cumberland Nursing Center, Cumberland.
Born March 29, 1910, in Rockwood, Pa., she was the daughter of the late William W. and Edith (Meyers) Sterner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry K. McMillan, 1984; two sisters, Bernice Shaner and Floy P. Schriver; and one brother, John H. Sterner.
Mrs. McMillan was a former employee of Kelly-Springfield Tire Co. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
Surviving are one sister, Eleanor S. Proudfoot, Cumberland; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. James McMahan officiating.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Cumberland.
MARY JANE 'JERRY' MEAGHER
EASTON - Mary Jane 'Jerry' Meagher died Sunday, April 11, 1999, at the Memorial Hospital at Easton.
Born Aug. 3, 1921, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Edith (Murphy) Hill. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall 'Mike' Meagher; and her brother, Charles Leslie Hill.
She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Easton, and was a sales person for Avon.
Mrs. Meagher is survived by a son, Michael Earl Meagher, Hagerstown; a sister-in-law, Emelie Hill, Frostburg; and two nieces, Marianne Zizza-Abe and Carol A. Lease, both of Frostburg; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Easton on April 14.
Burial was in the Oak Lawn Cemetery, Baltimore.

AGNES S. MEANS
CUMBERLAND - Agnes S. Means, 87, formerly of Knox Street, Cumberland, died Tuesday, March 23, 1999, at the Cumberland Nursing Home.
Born on June 22, 1911, at Tucker County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Thornton Means Sr. and Elizabeth (Smith) Means. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Miss Means was a retired secretary for the Celanese Corporation with 45 years of service. She was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church. She was also a member of the Goodfellowship Club. She was a member of the bowling team for the Cumberland Outdoor Club.
She is survived by two sisters-in-law, Betty J. Means-Anderson and husband, John, Cumberland, and Betty D. Means, McLean, Va.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Kight Funeral Home, 309-311 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Stephen F. Yelovich officiating.
Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
ETHEL M. NEWNAM
CUMBERLAND - Ethel May LaManca Newnam, 80, of Cumberland, died Wednesday, Aug. 11, 1999, at Blacksburg Hospital, Blacksburg, Va.
Born May 3, 1919, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late John B. and Irene S. (Shaner) LaManca. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel J. Newnam. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mrs. Newnam was a retired theater manager for the Strand Theater. She was a member of the Cumberland Historic cemetery Organization.
Surviving are one daughter, Nancy Carey and husband Ronnie, Anchorage, Ak.; and one grandson, Dax Carey, Anchorage, Ak.
Friends will be received at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Monday from noon to 1 p.m. Cumberland Historic cemetery Organization member Mary Ann Eckard will lead the rosary which will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home Monday at 1 p.m. with the Dr. O. Morton Harris officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
JANIE L. MEANYHAN
FROSTBURG - Janie L. Meanyhan, 46, of Frostburg, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Oct. 10, 1953, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of Betty (Skidmore) House, Frostburg, and the late Edward J. House, Sr. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Edward J. House, Jr., and her maternal grandparents, Laura and Harry E. Skidmore; and paternal grandparents, Madge and Joseph House.
Mrs. Meanyhan attended Frostburg Assembly of God Church as a child. She was a member of Frostburg Eagles Auxiliary 1273.
Surviving in addition to her mother, are her fiancé, Ralph Baker, Frostburg; one son, John R. Meanyhan, Jr., Barton and his fiancé, Michele Smith, also of Barton; two daughters, Stacie L. Zelenka and husband, Paul, Frederick, and Laura J. Williams and husband, Jeremy, Buckhannon, W.Va.; four grandchildren, Jocelyn and Jacob Williams, Abigail Wilhelm and Megan Smith; one brother, Steve House and wife, Gayle, Addison, Pa.; two sisters, Sharon Garlock and husband, Edward, Manassas, Va., and Bonnie Fletcher and husband, Norman, Winchester, Va.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., 60 W. Main St., Frostburg, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Frostburg Eagles Auxiliary 1273 will hold a memorial service on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Jimmie Blair, officiating.
Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.
MELVIN L. MEASE JR.
LAKE SUZY, Fla. - Melvin L. Mease Jr., 72, of 11320 S.W. Essex Drive, Lake Suzy, FL 34266, formerly of Cumberland, Md., and Three Churches, W.Va., died at Charlotte Regional Medical Center in Punta Gorda, Fla., on April 19, 1999.
He was born on July 23, 1926, in Cumberland.
Mr. Mease retired from C.S.X. Railroad Systems. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
He was a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Cumberland.
He was the son of the late Melvin L. Mease Sr. and Ada Boone Mease. Surviving are his wife, Christine Stotler Mease; a son, John R. and his wife, Julia, of Roswell, Ga.; a daughter, Melissa and her husband, Robert Ortiz, of Arlington Heights, Ill.; a sister, Erma Kreiger, of Cumberland; and three grandchildren, Gabriel Henkle, Sarah Elizabeth Ortiz, and Alexander Ortiz.
Graveside services will be held at Rocky Gap cemetery in Cumberland at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, or to the charity of the donor's choice.
