ALBERTA M. MARTIN
BATON ROUGE, La. - Alberta M. "Terry" Martin, 71, of Baton Rouge, formerly of Cumberland, died Friday, Sept. 3, 1999, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Nov. 4, 1927, in Selina, Kansas, she was the daughter of the late Simeon F. and Gladys B. (Carlisle) Terrill. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond L. Davis; one daughter, Ivy Martin; two sisters, Ella Granata and Viola Zito; and one brother, Milford Terrill.
Mrs. Martin traveled through most of the United States by car in sales management before opening and managing Terry's Broasted Chicken in Cumberland. After retiring to Louisiana, she met and married
her loving and devoted husband of 24 years, "Dub" Martin.
Surviving are her husband, Ira L. "Dub" Martin; four daughters, Becky Goldsworthy and husband, Paul, Cumberland, Debbie Lobell and husband Lonnie, Ponchatoula, La., Sylvia Coston and husband Ken, Ava, Mo., Cherryl Martin, St. Amant, La; one son, Larry Martin and wife Judith, Baton Rouge, La.; two sisters, Claire Berlendy, LaVale, Delores McKinzy, Lumberton, Texas; four brothers, Steve Terrill and wife Barbara, Cresaptown, Jack Terrill, Brack Terrill, both of LaVale, and Bob Terrill and wife Wilma, Conroe, Texas; 14 grandchildren, including Kara Breedlove, Silver Spring, and Paul Goldsworthy, Cumberland; and 14 great-grandchildren.
At Mrs. Martin's request, her body was donated for medical research.
Local family members will receive friends who wish to pay respect to her memory at a memorial service at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, Saturday Sept. 11, 1999, at 5 p.m. with the Rev. John R. Herbst officiating.
CHARLES D. PRICE MADELINE D. PRICE
LAVALE - Funeral services for Charles Downey Price and his wife, Madeline Delores Reynolds Price, will be held Thursday, May 20, at 12:00 noon at the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary in LaVale. Interment will follow at Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
A memorial service was held Tuesday morning, May 18, 1999, at the April Sounds Community Church, Montgomery, Texas.
Mr. and Mrs. Price died as a result of a May 14 motor vehicle collision near Houston. They resided in LaVale prior to moving to the April Sounds Community of Montgomery, Texas, in 1976.
Mr. Price was retired from the Hercules Powder Company, and was well-known for many shills including sign painting, barbering, and joke-telling. He also was an avid golfer, having shot a hole-in-one a few years ago. He was one of eleven children born to George Homer Price and his wife, Mary Binnix Price. He was born December 31, 1911.
Mrs. Price was the daughter of William Howard Reynolds and his wife, Della Pearl Hill Reynolds. Born Jan. 9, 1914, she was one of five children. Mrs. Price was a homemaker who was known as a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Before moving to Texas, Mrs. Price was actively involved in The United Methodist Women of Park Place Church. She always remembered each family member on all special dates and occasions with appropriate cards and gifts.
Mr. and Mrs. Price are survived by their sons, Bruce K. Price, Ph.D., a retired minister and college dean, of Baltimore, Maryland, and C. Downey Price II, M.D., a physician, of Conroe, Texas.
Dr. Bruce K. Price and his wife, Maryland District Court Judge Teaette Shelton Price, are parents of four children: Benjamin Price and his wife, Christine, of Annapolis; Jennifer Price Corder, M.D., and her husband, Robert, of Annapolis; Heather Price Smith, Esq., and her husband, Charles, of Frederick, and Simon Price of Baltimore. There are nine great-grandchildren, Gunnar, August, Victor and Hannah Price; Gabriel, Rebecca and Adam Price Corder; Madeline Reynolds Smith and Harrison Smith. These children treasured their great-grandparents and eagerly awaited their visits.

Edna Fern Bent and are the parents of Mark Price and special friend, Gia Manguno, of Houston, Texas; Aaron Price and his wife Laura, of McLean, Va.; and Jordan Price and his fiancee, Melanie Oxley, of Austin, Texas.
The late Mr. and Mrs. Price are also survived by her sister, Edith Reynolds Cessna of Cumberland, and his sisters, Mildred Price Keech and husband Tom, of LaVale, and Grace Lillian Price of Raleyville, Va.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Park Place United Methodist Church, LaVale, Maryland.
WILSON S. MARSHALL
LONACONING - Wilson Smith Marshall, 78, of Allegany County Nursing Home, formerly of 48 W. Main St., Lonaconing, died Monday, May 10, 1999, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland.
Born Jan. 24, 1921, in Lonaconing, he was a son of the late Robert Smith Marshall and Leola Mae (Loraw) Marshall.
Mr. Marshall was a retired custodian for Allegany County Board of Education, having worked at Central High School and Georges Creek Elementary, retiring from Georges Creek. He also was a retired school bus driver, having driven for Willetts Bus Service and Barnes Bus Service for 25 years. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he served three years in the South Pacific.
He was Presbyterian by faith and was a member of Alvin C. Neat Post #5280 V.F.W., and James P. Love Post #92, American Legion, both of Lonaconing, and the AARP. Mr. Marshall was a faithful volunteer for the Georges Creek Rescue Squad when it first organized. He was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates fan.
Surviving are one sister, V. Mae Nolan and husband, Ed, LaVale; one aunt, Beatrice Marshall, Frostburg; and several cousins.
The family received friends at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing, Tuesday, May 11.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home Wednesday, May 12, 1999, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Peter Leathersich and the Rev. Richard Mortimore officiating.
Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park, Frostburg.
Alvin C. Neat Post #5280 will hold a memorial service Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Ebb Spiker, Robert Weber, Tim Rowan, William Smith, Alex Smith and Andrew Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Miller and Gerald Cook.
Graveside military honors will be accorded by Combined Veterans Honor Guard of the Cumberland area.
Memorials may be directed to the Georges Creek Ambulance Service, Lonaconing.
ALICE B. NAYLOR
OAKLAND - Alice B. Naylor, age 84, of 100 N. Second St., Oakland, died on Wednesday at Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home, Oakland.
She was born Nov. 9, 1914, at Turner Douglas, W.Va., and was a daughter of the late William and Ada Butt.
Mrs. Naylor was a retired U.S. Navy nurse and served as a commander in the north Atlantic and Pacific oceans during World War II. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, S. Townshend Naylor, in 1983.
She is survived by three stepdaughters, Anne Naylor Grant, Oakland, Mary Naylor Richardson and Olivia Naylor Mersing, both of Williamsburg, Va.; one sister, Mary Emily Averle, Baltimore; eight step-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Durst Funeral Home, Oakland, on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m.
Services will be conducted at St. Paul's United Methodist Church on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Roger Harrison officiating.
Interment will be in the Oakland Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials be directed to St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
SANDRA J. "SANDY" NOEL
FROSTBURG - Sandra J. "Sandy" Noel, 55, of Frostburg, died Saturday, May 15, 1999, at Memorial Hospital.
Born July 2, 1943, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late Russell E. and Elizabeth Lewis Evans. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Russell E. Evans Jr.
Mrs. Evans was a registered nurse at I.C.U. at Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Women of the Moose, #22 and the Frostburg Eagles Auxiliary. She will be sadly missed by her co-workers at Memorial Hospital.
Surviving are one son, Michael L. Noel and wife, Marvette, Hancock; and one granddaughter, Susan Kay Noel, Hancock.
At her request, there will be no visitation or service and the body will be cremated.
Inurnment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Intensive Care Unit at Memorial Hospital.
