ANNA G. MACKLEY
WESTERNPORT - Anna Grace Mackley, 86, of 316 Johnson St., Westernport, died Saturday, Oct. 16, 1999, at her home.
Born Dec. 12, 1912, at Fairmont, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late William Edward and Rosie M. (Simmons) Kellar.
She also was preceded in death by her husband George Davis Mackley on Oct. 2, 1982; four sisters, Faye Hott, Hazel Lucyk, Emma Birdoff and Ardella Beeler; and one brother, Robert Kellar.
Mrs. Mackley was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Piedmont, W.Va., the Burlington Family Services Auxiliary, and the Westernport Senior Citizens.
Surviving are a daughter, Frances Bane and husband Robert, Westernport; one granddaughter, Karyn DeWolf and husband Richard, Rock Hill, S.C.; one grandson, Kevin Bane and wife Gaye, Westernport; and three sisters, Virginia Grimm, Tunnellton, W.Va., Rose Sharrer, Oakland, and Lona McDowell, Cumberland.
Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted there on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Joseph Jarrett officiating.
Interment will be in Philos Cemetery, Westernport.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Trinity United Methodist Church, Piedmont, or the Memorial Hospital Hospice Unit, Cumberland.
JOSEPHINE V. PORTER
CUMBERLAND - Josephine Virginia Porter, 79, formerly of 229 Baltimore Ave., (Cumberland Manor), Cumberland, died Sunday, Aug. 29, at Memorial Hospital.
Born January 27, 1920, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Fred Wolfe and the late Katherine (Schadt) Wolfe.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Authur Elroy Porter.
Mrs. Porter was a member of the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Surviving are three sons, Cecil Porter, Cumberland; Gary Porter and wife Sonya, Cumberland; Raymond Porter, Cumberland; three daughters, JoAnn Ganoe and husband William, Wiley Ford, W.Va.; Patricia Watson and husband Frank, Cumberland; Dona Blank and husband Robert, Cumberland; two sisters, Mary Sellers and husband Harry, Cumberland; Elvona Ballou and husband Raymond, Poconos, Pa.; 23 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted on Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., with Evangelist William Seale and Evangelist Dale Vitale officiating.
Interment will be in the Maryland State Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap.
JOANN MACKERETH
CUMBERLAND - JoAnn Mackereth, 44, of Cumberland, died Tuesday, June 29, 1999, at Memorial Hospital.
Born July 10, 1954, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of Bertha (Wise) Palmer, of Cumberland, and the late Frederick Palmer.
She was a 1972 graduate of Fort Hill High School.
Mrs. Mackereth attended Allegany College, where she studied business.
Mrs. Mackereth had been employed at American Trust Bank, where she was a Tele-Service Supervisor.
She was a member of Davis Memorial Church.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Steve R. Mackereth; one daughter, Tiffany Ann Mackereth, at home; her mother-in-law, Shirley S. Mackereth, Cumberland; and her father-in-law, Lee Mackereth, Cumberland.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, PA, 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
The service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, July 2, 1999, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Theodore Higby officiating.
Interment will be in the Davis Memorial Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Brian Allen, Steven Wigfield, Danny White, Bruce Johnson, Jerry Davis and Peter Kinsey.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 111 S. George St., Cumberland, MD 21502.
ALLEN J. MACE
HASTINGS, Minn. - Allen J. Mace, 86, formerly of Cumberland, died Saturday, Oct. 9, 1999, at the Augustana Home of Hastings, Hastings, Minn.
Born June 18, 1913, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Edward C. and Annie (Rowan) Mace.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Julia; one brother, John; and one sister, Edna Ney.
Mr. Mace was a veteran of World War II serving in the European Theater.
Surviving are one son, Allen and wife Debra, Lakeville, Minn.; one sister, Anna Ritchie, Baltimore; two granddaughters, Sharon Peterson and husband Eric, and Jennifer Mace; two great-grandsons, Cody Peterson and Skylar Mace, and many nieces and nephews.
At Mr. Mace's request, he was cremated.
A memorial service will be conducted at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, Md., on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Milton A. Hipsley officiating.
Interment will be in the Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Rocky Gap, Md.
Military honors will be accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
ARTHUR J. NEAT
BARTON - Arthur J. Neat, 73, of Charleroi, Pa., formerly of Barton, died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 1999, at his home.
He was the son of the late Samuel and Mary Neat.
He also was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Brown Neat; one sister, Mildred Smith; and two brothers, Walter and David.
He is survived by one son, Kevin Neat and wife Sharon, Indianapolis, Ind.; three grandchildren; and four sisters, Gloria Green, Lonaconing, Rose Mary Neat, Barton, Phyllis Pericas, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Carolyn Schaller, Coldwater, Ohio.
Mr. Neat was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
At Mr. Neat's request, his body was cremated.
Memorial services were held Monday, Dec. 20, at 11 a.m.
