ROSIE V. WEAVER
RAWLINGS - Rosie Virginia Smith Weaver, 90, formerly of Rawlings, died Friday, Dec. 17, 1999, at the Allegany County Nursing Home.
Born May 29, 1903, in Cherry Run, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late James R. and Eliza (Butz) Smith. She was also preceded in death by step-son, John T. Weaver, Sr., and three sisters.
Mrs. Weaver was a member of Rawlings United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Roy Weaver, a resident at Allegany County Nursing Home; one step-son, George A. Weaver, Pa.; one step-daughter, Margaret Marie Nazelrod, Eureka, Calif.; one sister, Dorothy Smith, Kitzmiller; several step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Gary W. Trail, officiating.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Burial Park.

ETHEL V. WALKER
CUMBERLAND - Ethel V. Walker, 99, formerly of the Cumberland Manor Apartments, died Wednesday, May 5, 1999, at the Cumberland Nursing Home.
Born on Dec. 4, 1899, at Maysville, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Grant McDonald and Mae (Swisher) McDonald. Her husband, Edward Walker, died Dec. 2, 1991. She was also preceded in death by three brothers; and two sisters.
Mrs. Walker was a member of the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ.
She is survived by two sisters, Alice M. May, LaVale, Myrtle Bolton and husband, Al, Alexandria, Va.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Kight Funeral Home, 309-311 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Daniel G. Taylor officiating.
Interment will be at Maysville, W.Va., Cemetery.
LEONARD F. SNIDER
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Leonard F. Snider, 79, of Indianapolis, formerly of Flintstone, Md., died Monday, Feb. 22, 1999, in Greenfield.
He was born Sept. 24, 1919, in New Castle, a son of the late Elmer and Rosetta Snider.
He is survived by a son, Lantz E. Snider, Indianapolis; four daughters, Jennifer J. Smith, Chicago, Ill., Theresa Ann Michels, Cumberland, Md., Rebecca Weiland Wilson, Indianapolis, and Alice J. Roose, Indianapolis; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at Flanner and Buchanan Lawrence Funeral Home, 5215 N. Shadeland Ave., Indianapolis, on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m.
Services will be conducted at Lawrence United Methodist Church on Thursday at 1 p.m.
Interment will be in Mount Summit Cemetery, Mount Summit.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
LUELLA IONE SIMPSON
CUMBERLAND - Luella Ione Simpson, 66, of Cumberland, died Friday, May 21, 1999, at her home.
Born Feb. 14, 1933, in Paw Paw, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Cecil Carl Blackburn and the late Cleda L. (McCauley) Blackburn. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Reger, and her second husband, William Simpson; and daughter, Darlene Carter.
Mrs. Simpson was an avid bingo player.
Surviving are a daughter, Barbara Lou Soyk, Cumberland; three sisters, Ruby Twigg, LaVale, Cecelia Lambert, Cumberland, Anita Natale, Cumberland; a granddaughter, Tina Kerns and husband, Mark, Fort Ashby, W.Va.; two great-grandchildren, Alexandra Russell and Kelsee Kerns; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Monday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Wayne Turner officiating.
Interment will be in Porter Cemetery.
WILLIAM E. ROWAN
CUMBERLAND - William E. Rowan, 72, of 5125 Wright Ave., Baltimore, MD 21505, formerly of Cumberland and Oakland, died Monday, June 21, 1999, at his residence.
Born Dec. 2, 1926, in Keyser, W.Va., he was the son of the late Peter J. and Ada (Fleming) Rowan. He also was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Frances Milnecki.
Mr. Rowan was retired from Giant Food. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was Catholic by faith. He was a member of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union, Proctor Kildow Post 0071 American Legion, Oakland, and the VFW.
Surviving are his wife, Maxine E. (Iman) Rowan; four daughters, Donna M. Buddington and husband Glen, Durham, N.C., Sharon E. Dawson and husband Dennis, Baltimore, Claudia J. Balsinger, Baltimore, Patricia L. Martin and husband Larry, Greenbelt; three sons, Richard L. Rowan, Tennessee, William E. Rowan, Prince Georges County, and Ronald S. Rowan, Baltimore; two sisters, Josephine Livengood and Margaret Grubbs, both of Oakland; one brother, Leo Livengood, Oakland; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, PA, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home Thursday at 11 a.m. with Father Vane Pastors, OF, Cap., officiating.
Interment will be in the Maryland State Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap, Flintstone. Graveside military honors will be accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
MARGARET R. SPIKER
CUMBERLAND - Margaret Regina Spiker, 73, of Cumberland, died Thursday, March 25, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born June 24, 1925, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late H. Clifford and Mary Katherine (Davidson) Spiker. She also was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy M. Cwynar and Betty H. Bowman; and one brother, John Spiker. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Miss Spiker was retired from the Federal Government where she was an executive secretary for the Department of Defense. She was formerly employed by the City of Cumberland, Columbia Gas Company, and Zayre Department Store in Massachusetts, Ohio and the Washington, D.C., area. She was a graduate of St. Mary's High School class of 1942, and she attended Ursuline Business School She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and volunteered at Sacred Heart Hospital Wellness Center and the Allegany County Chapter of the American Red Cross.
Surviving are one sister-in-law, Betty Spiker, Miami, Fla.; one brother-in-law, Robert E. Bowman, Cumberland; three nieces, Donna, Nancy and Kathy; six nephews, Michael, Craig, Patrick, Danny, Tim and Tom; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and one very good friend, Janet M. Powell, Cumberland.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., on Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. There will be a Christian Wake service conducted at the funeral home on Sunday at 4:45 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Monday at 9 a.m. with the Rev. Milton A. Hipsley as celebrant.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
KEITH R. WHEELER
KITZMILLER - Keith Ray Wheeler, 78, of Kitzmiller, formerly of Baltimore, died Thursday, Aug. 5, 1999, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital.
Born Feb. 2, 1921, in Brownsville, Pa., he was a son of the late Raymond and Edna (Mayhorn) Wheeler.
Mr. Wheeler was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He retired from the Patapsco and Back River Railroad.
Surviving are his wife, Betty (Diehl) Wheeler; one son, Mark Wheeler, Kitzmiller; one daughter, Claudia Yearick, Baltimore; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, Kitzmiller, Friday at 5 p.m.
A memorial service will be held in the funeral home chapel Friday at 6 p.m. with the Rev. Donald Nelson officiating.
At Mr. Wheeler's request, his body will be cremated.
