JOHN WEISENMILLER JR.
CUMBERLAND - John C. Weisenmiller Jr., 50, of North Centre Street, Cumberland, died Tuesday, July 27, 1999, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Aug. 31, 1948, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late John C. Weisenmiller Sr. and Dorothy A. (Bowman) Weisenmiller.
Mr. Weisenmiller was a former machinist. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Cumberland American Legion Post No. 13.
Surviving are one son, Ricky James Weisenmiller and wife, Rosanne, Cumberland; one daughter, Sherry Lynn Weisenmiller and fiance, David Smith, Cumberland; one brother, Richard Bowman and wife, Tina, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Cody Robertson, Austin Weisenmiller and Destiny Smith.
Friends will be received at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Thursday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home Friday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. William Bice officiating.
Interment will be in the Maryland State Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap, Flintstone. Graveside military honors will be accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
Pallbearers will be Buck Gephart, Curt Miller, Ray Nixon, Bob Beem, John Shipley and Dennis Boyd.
JOHN M. ROBB
LAVALE - John M. Robb Sr., 84, of LaVale, died Thursday, March 18, 1999, at his home.
Born on May 11, 1914, in Eldorado, Ark., he was the son of the late William B. Robb Sr., and the late Willie C. (Wilson) Robb. He was also preceded in death by his brother, William B. Robb, Jr.
Mr. Robb was a graduate of Allegany High School class of 1931. He graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park Campus, and the University of Maryland School of Law. After graduation he returned to Cumberland where he practiced law until he retired in 1980. He served as a trial magistrate for Allegany County prior to the implementation of the District Court. During World War II, Mr. Robb was stationed with the U.S. Army in India.
Mr. Robb was a member of the American Legion, Henry Hart Post #1411, the Cumberland B.P.O. Elks #63, where he was Exalted Ruler from 1954-1955. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Allegany County League for Crippled Children, a member and past president of the Cumberland Junior Chamber of Commerce, a charter member of the Cresaptown Eagles, a member and past president of the Exchange Service Club of Cumberland, and was active in other civic organizations.
A Boy Scout, Mr. Robb attained the rank of Eagle Scout in 1929. He was a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church and the Allegany County Bar Association where he served as president.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ida Mae (Kellough); one daughter, Barbara A. Lorenzo and husband, Louis, Ellicott City; two sons, John M. Robb Jr. and wife, Edith, Cumberland, and Gary K. Robb and wife, Christine, Greenville, S.C.; four grandchildren, Eva E. Hejazi and husband, Farhad, Columbia, Christopher L. Sherman, Ellicott City, John M. Robb III, and Elizabeth M. Robb, both of Cumberland.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., Cresaptown, on Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m.
Funeral and committal services will be held at the funeral home on Sunday at 2 p.m. with Dr. O. Morton Harris Jr. officiating.
Interment will be in the Maryland Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap at a later date.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Paul Lease and George Nightengale, along with members of the Allegany County Bar Association.
The family requests donations be made to the Daughters of the American Revolution for the benefit of the Ida Mae Robb History Award, c/o Mrs. Paul Lease, 912 Weires Ave., LaVale, MD 21502.
ADRIAN J. WILTISON
WESTERNPORT - Adrian J. "Porky" Wiltison, 86, of 231 Maryland Ave., Westernport, died Wednesday, July 28, 1999, at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser, W.Va.
Born June 16, 1913, in Burlington, W.Va., he was the son of the late Charles Wesley and Nelia (Snyder) Wiltison. He also was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille Dayton and Abbie Fishell; and two brothers, Lynn Wiltison and Cecil Wiltison.
Mr. Wiltison was retired, having worked at City Cleaners and Potomac Candy Co., both in Piedmont, W.Va. He was Protestant by faith.
He is survived by his wife, Irene (Trenum) Wiltison; one son, Dr. William K. Wiltison and wife Irene, Largo, Fla.; and two grandchildren, Chad and Derek Wiltison.
The family will receive friends at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Friday, July 30, from 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday, July 31, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Eric Durden and the Rev. Homer Beeman officiating.
Interment will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
HAROLD O. "DICK" RIGGLEMAN
KITZMILLER - Harold O. "Dick" Riggleman, 68, of Kitzmiller, died Tuesday, March 2, 1999, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland.
Born March 17, 1930, in Vindex, he was the son of Harry Randolph Riggleman and the late Anna (Lipscomb) Riggleman. He was also preceded in death by a son, Harry Wayne Riggleman and a daughter, Connie Riggleman.
Mr. Riggleman was retired from the Garrett County Highway Department.
In addition to his father he is survived by his wife, Edith (Holland) Riggleman; three daughters, Patricia Whitacre, Kitzmiller; Sandra True, Oakland; Shari Riggleman, Keyser, W.Va.; one brother, William Riggleman, Kitzmiller and two grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, Kitzmiller, on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Gail Hixon officiating. Interment will be at Turner Cemetery, Walnut Bottom.
WILBERT T. "ROBBIE" ROBERSON
CUMBERLAND - Wilbert T. "Robbie" Roberson, 79, of Somerville Ave., Cumberland, died Friday, July 30, 1999, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Dec. 6, 1919, in Frostburg, he was the son of the late Edward Robert and Susan (Beeman) Roberson. He also was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Mr. Roberson retired from Wolfe Furniture Store in 1981 and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, the Bible class of the church, and a volunteer for the Western Maryland Railway Historical Museum.
Surviving are his wife, Virginia Lee (Rice) Roberson; one daughter, Shirley Sisk, and husband, Craig, Severn; and one grandson, Derek Sisk, Severn.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the Grace United Methodist Church on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Richard Jewell officiating. There will be visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
HOWARD P. ROBERTS
CUMBERLAND - Howard P. Roberts, 81, of Messick Road, SE, Cumberland, died Thursday, Aug. 26, 1999, at
Memorial Hospital.
Born March 27, 1918, in Bedford County, Pa., he was the son of the late William Thomas and Eliza Etta (Bowman)
Roberts. He also was preceded in death by four sisters and six brothers.
Mr. Roberts was a U.S. Army and Air Force veteran of World War II, having served in the European Theatre, and was
discharged as a sergeant. He was retired from the Celenease Corp., Cumberland.
Surviving are his wife, Susan M. (Brownawell) Roberts; one son, Michael L. Roberts and wife Debbie, Shawnee, Kan.; and
one grandson, Jason M. Roberts.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., on Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 10 a.m. with Pastor Gerald Wagner officiating.
Interment will be in Maryland State Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap. Military honors will be accorded by the
Cumberland Veterans Honor Guard.
