ORREN J. ROUGHT
FROSTBURG - Orren J. Rought, 88, of 4 Powells Lane, Apt. B6, Frostburg, died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, at the St. Vincent de Paul Nursing Home.
Born Oct. 26, 1910, in Vestal, N.Y., he was the son of the late James and Belle (Tanner) Rought. He also was preceded in death by one brother, Raymond Rought.
Mr. Rought was a retired self-employed carpenter.
Surviving are his wife, Goldie (Dayton) Rought; two daughters, Catherine Scordino and husband Frank, Lanham, and Leona Hamilton and husband Robert, Bowie; one son, Orren John Rought and wife Judi, Lakeland, Fla,; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
At. Mr. Rought's request, his body was cremated.
A memorial service will be held at the Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Sunday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. George Harpold officiating.
ERVIN W. ROUNDS
GRANTSVILLE - Ervin Wilson Rounds, 77, of 5108 Amish Road, Grantsville, died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 1999, at the Meyersdale Medical Center, Meyersdale, Pa.
Born March 7, 1921, in Grantsville, he was a son of the late Floyd and Sarah (Broadwater) Rounds. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Margarete (Hafenrichter) Rounds, on May 28, 1992.
Mr. Rounds was a member of the Oak Grove Mennonite Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict, and was retired after 20 years of active service. He was a member of Grantsville Post 214 American Legion.
Survivors include a son, Terry Rounds, Centreville, Va.; two daughters, Judith McKinnis, Alexandria, Va., and Linda Philpott, Woodbridge, Va.; three brothers, Arlie Rounds, Accident, Minor Rounds, Swanton, and Carl Rounds, Grantsville; three sisters, Leona Broadwater and Thelma Broadwater, both of Grantsville, and Virgie McMillan, Orion, Mich.; and five grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., Grantsville, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Earl Yoder and the Rev. Tim Fetterly officiating.
Interment will be in the Arlington National Cemetery, Wednesday, March 3, 1999, at 11 a.m.

CATHERINE E. WILSON
CUMBERLAND - Catherine Emma Wilson, 92, of 308 Mountain View Drive, Cumberland, died Thursday, April 29, 1999, at Memorial Hospital.
Born July 10, 1906, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Orion Oliver Wilson and the late Louise Catherine (Pressman) Wilson. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Orion O. Wilson Jr.; and a sister, Ethel Coffay.
Mrs. Wilson was a graduate of Allegany County Academy, Goucher College, and the University of Chicago, where she received a master's degree in microbiology. She was a member of Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Society. She was a retired microbiologist with the War Department Chemical Warfare Services in the Edgewood Arsenal, Edgewood, Md.
Surviving are two sisters, Margaret Louise Wilson, Cumberland, and Maud Lee Shirey and husband Orville, Thurmont; a nephew, Michael Cresap Shirey, Silver Spring; a niece, Catherine Louise Luette, Mount Airy; and five great-nieces and -nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted on Wednesday at noon at Rose Hill cemetery with Orville Shirey officiating.
Services are under the direction of the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland.
M. DAVID WILSON
FLINTSTONE - M. David Wilson, 59, formerly of Town Creek Road, Flintstone, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Aug. 30, 1940, in Flintstone, he was the son of the late S. Martin Wilson and Hazel Marie (Thomas) Wilson.
Mr. Wilson was a member of Mountain Top Holiness Church.
Surviving are a brother, Argyle T. Wilson and wife, Naomi, Frostburg; two nephews, Thomas Wilson and wife, Lyn, Goveneur, N.Y., John Wilson and wife, Linda, Eckhart; a niece, Tammy Thompson and husband, Dan, Cumberland.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Glenn Jones, officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
ROBERT F. SMITH, SR.
FROSTBURG - Robert F. "Bobby" Smith, Sr., 71, died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 1999, in Frostburg.
Mr. Smith was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was retired from Baltimore City Highway Maintenance Department.
He was a member of Frostburg Moose, Lodge 348, Frostburg Eagles 1273, and American Legion Ft. McHenry Post 133.
Surviving are his ex-wife, Margaret (Skidmore) Green; four sons, Robert F. Smith, Jr., Baltimore, Marsh G. Smith and wife, Patricia, Finzel, John E. Smith, Frostburg, and Norman Easton, Frostburg; one sister, Edith Smith, Baltimore; and two grandsons, Joshua and Aaron Smith.
Friends will be received at the McCully-Polyniak Funeral Home, 130 E. Fort Ave., Baltimore, on Saturday and Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home, on Monday at 1 p.m.
Interment will be in Crownsville Veterans Cemetery.

CUMBERLAND - Austin Charles Thuss, 4 1/2 months old, of 14515 Michael Road, Cumberland, died Thursday, April 22, 1999, at his home.
Born Dec. 6, 1998, in Morgantown, W.Va., he was the son of Kenneth Dale Thuss and Shelly Kay Twigg, Cumberland.
Surviving besides his parents are his maternal grandmother, Sharon Jean Perrin and husband, David, Artemas, Pa.; his maternal grandfather, David Russell Smith and wife, Barbara, Bedford, Pa.; paternal grandmother, Marian Louise Thuss and the late Charles F. Thuss, Frostburg; maternal grandparents, Robert L. Twigg and wife, Ellen, Cumberland; maternal great-grandmother, LaVerne E. Bridges, Bedford; maternal great-great-grandmother, Alberta Rose, Bedford; maternal great-grandparents, John H. Twigg and wife, Norma, Cumberland; a twin sister, Alexis E. Thuss, Cumberland; two sisters, Brittany Thuss and Lacy Twigg, Cumberland; a brother, Cody Twigg, Cumberland; and several aunts and uncles.

KEITH W. ROWAN
CUMBERLAND - Keith Wilson Rowan, 44, of Cumberland, died Saturday, May 1, 1999, as a result of a motorcycle accident.
Born June 24, 1954, in Cumberland, he was the son of Frances Marie (Wilson) Rowan, Cumberland, and the late James Franklin Rowan.
Mr. Rowan was part owner of Psycle Barn Custom Motorcycle Shop. He was a 1972 graduate of Fort Hill High School and a member of the Richard Cranium Motorcycle Club.
In addition to his mother, surviving are his wife, Amy S. (Workman) Rowan; one daughter, Brittnie S. Rowan, at home; one son, Ian M. Rowan, student at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; one sister, Susan E. Blizzard and husband, D. Keith, Cumberland; two brothers, James F. Rowan Jr. and wife, Jenny, Cumberland, Scott B. Rowan and wife, Rosalind, Bowie; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dr. Glenn O. and Shirley (Mills) Workman; three brothers-in-law, Glenn O. "Rick" Workman and wife, Mari, Woodline Hills, Calif., Randy L. Workman and wife, Mary, Mount Savage, Rodney E. Workman and wife, Julie, Lake Bluff, Ill.; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
At Mr. Rowan's request he will be cremated.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., on Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m.
A memorial service will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m.
