FREDERICK T. REBAR
BLOOMINGTON - Frederick T. Rebar, 84, a resident of Moran Manor Nursing Home, and formerly of 68 Knight St., Bloomington, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born on Sept. 14, 1914, in Little Washington, Pa., he was the son of the late Frederick Rebar and Elizabeth (Reickly-Rebar) Ray; and stepson of the late James Ray. He was also preceded in death by one son; one granddaughter; and his wife, Mary E. Rebar, in December 1997.
Mr. Rebar was retired from Westvaco Corporation. He was a member of the American Legion S.A.L. Post #155, Westernport. He attended the Bloomington Methodist Church.
He is survived by three sons, Stanley Rebar, Bloomington, James Rebar and wife, Florence, Goose Creek, S.C., Robert Rebar and wife, Lydia, Oceanside, Calif.; two daughters, Joanna V. Bever and husband, Jim, Fountain, W.Va., Josephine C. Paugh and husband, Robert Lee, Westernport; one brother, Paul Ray, Westernport; three sisters, Violet Grove and Dorothy Grove, both of Westernport, Helen Bozman, Princess Anne; 17 grandchildren; and many, many great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Friday, Jan. 15, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday, Jan. 16, at 1 p.m. by the Rev. Donald Nelson.
Interment will be in the Bloomington Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be sent to the Bloomington Fire Department, Bloomington, or to the Tri-Towns Rescue Squad, Westernport.
ERNEST STANLEY "JIM" TEETS
FRIENDSVILLE - Ernest Stanley "Jim" Teets, 87, of 3922 Bear Creek Road, Friendsville, died on Monday, Jan. 18, 1999, at Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville.
Born Oct. 27, 1911, in Hazelton, W.Va., he was a son of the late George Harvey and Arvetta Pearl (Fearer) Teets. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ivan and Harvey Jr.
Mr. Teets was a member of Sand Spring Church of God, the Maryland Fur Trappers Association, and Woodmen of the World, Camp 45.
He is survived by five brothers, Arthur Teets and wife, Edna, Bruceton Mills, W.Va., Glen Teets and wife, Freda, and Orval Teets and wife, Mareva, all of Swanton, Warren Teets and wife, Rose Ann, Lakeland, Fla., Kenneth Teets and wife, Encie, Norfolk, Va.; two sisters, Rose Laub and husband, Clarence, Confluence, Pa., Mildred Umbel, Friendsville; and 255 favorite nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., Friendsville, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted in the funeral home on Thursday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Dana Umbel officiating.
Interment will be in Asher Glade Cemetery.

MAY S. TIGHE
CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio - May Stevens Tighe, 99, of Cuyahoga Falls, died Jan. 10, 1999.
Mrs. Tighe was born in Allegany, Md., on March 28, 1899. She was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Alice Dunn Stevens. Mrs. Tighe was a resident of Cuyahoga Falls since 1929.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick Tighe; brothers, Cecil Stevens and Harry Stevens; sister, Elsie Jordan; grandson, Jerry McGuire.
She is survived by two daughters, Isabelle McGuire and husband, Bert, Centerville, Utah, and Ruby Shields, San Antonio, Texas; a son, Harry Tighe and wife, Ruth Anne, Stow; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Elizabeth Meek, of Shaft, Md.
The funeral was conducted on Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1999, at the Redman Funeral Home, Stow.
CHARLES F. SOWERS SR.
CUMBERLAND - Charles F. Sowers Sr., 78, of Cumberland, died Monday, June 21, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Jan. 5, 1921, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Harry F. and Elizabeth (Dyling) Sowers.
Mr. Sowers had served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a retired supervisor for PPG.
He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church; Fort Cumberland Post 13, American Legion; Fort Ashby Post 6667, VFW; The Tin Can Sailors Inc.; and the Destroyer Escort Sailors Association.
Survivors include his wife, V. Louise Sowers; two sons, Charles F. Sowers Jr. and wife Linda, Fairfax, Va., and Michael Sowers, Cumberland; one brother-in-law, James Reynolds, St. Paul, Minn.; and one sister-in-law, Carol Sowers, Monroeville, Pa.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, PA, 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Christian Wake service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Catholic Church on Thursday, June 24, 1999, at 9 a.m. with the Rev. Thomas R. Bevan as celebrant.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, where military honors will be accorded by the local combined veterans honor guard.
Jerry Ray and members of the honor guard will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Vince Monteleone.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 111 S. George St., Cumberland, MD 21502.
EDITH LOUISE SPATARO
MORANTOWN - Edith Louise Spataro, 85, formerly of Morantown, died Thursday, May 20, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital. She had been residing with her daughter, Mary Louise Burkett, on Cash Valley Road.
Born April 26, 1914, in Mount Savage, she was the daughter of the late David and Beatrice (Snelson) Swauger. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Patsy "Jay" Spataro, in 1995; one daughter, Virginia Williams, in 1978; and two brothers, Cecil Swauger and Melvin Swauger.
A bright smile, sparkling blue eyes, and a sweet disposition, these are precious qualities which describe Edith Spataro. Edith was a common face in the area of Frostburg known as "Little Italy." Providing gentle, loving guidance, Edith spent many years raising a large family. She could often be heard singing or yodeling as she worked in her flower and vegetable gardens.
Of English descent, Edith enjoyed afternoon tea as she watched out her kitchen window for cardinals. Birdwatching, especially looking for the bright red spashes of color that the cardinals displayed, was one of her hobbies. Another hobby was playing bingo, and she frequented St. Michael's Hall for many years to play.
Marrying an Italian, Edith was also known for the large spaghetti dinners she would cook on Saturdays for the vast crowd of family and friends who would stop by.
This dear, kind woman was the golden thread of love woven through the lives of so many people. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Surviving are two sons, Patrick Thomas "Sonny" Spataro and wife, Dorothy, Baltimore, and Albert Dale "Buddy" Spataro and wife, Rose, Morantown; three daughters, Norma Riley, Mount Savage, Darlene Walters and husband, Richard, Mount Savage, and Mary Louise Burkett and husband, Robert, Cash Valley Road; one son-in-law, James T. Williams, LaVale; 19 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and one brother, David Swauger and wife, Myrtle, Mount Savage.
Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., 60 W. Main St., Frostburg, on Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Rick D. Riley, grandson, and Father William E. Moody officiating.
Interment will be in St. Michael's Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Ronnie Riley, Denny Spataro, Jay Walters, Chuckie Walters, Donnie Walters and Rick Riley; and honorary pallbearers, Bobby Dale Riley and Bruce Patrick Burkett.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the ICU at Sacred Heart Hospital.
AUDREY J. RECKLEY
CUMBERLAND - Audrey Josephine Reckley, 78, of 1536-C Old Town Manor, Cumberland, passed away Monday, Jan. 18, 1999, at her home.
Born in Cumberland on Dec. 28, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Alvey J. and Myrtle (Brinkman) Reckley. She was also preceded in death by a brother, the Rev. Howard Reckley; and a sister, Evelyn Miller.
Miss Reckley was a former employee of Swift and Company, and also had worked for Artmor Plastic Company. She was a member of First United Methodist Church for over 60 years.
She is survived by one brother, John "Jack" Reckley, Cumberland; and three sisters, Thelma McDonald, Williamston, N.C., Phyllis Hite, Centerville, Pa., and Louise Lewis, Frederick.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Florice Fansler.
Interment will be in Davis Memorial Park.
