LYDIA J. REXROAD
LAVALE - Lydia Juanita Rexroad, 84, formerly of Cash Valley Road, LaVale, died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 1999, at her daughter's residence in Jessup.
Born Jan. 22, 1915, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Rister and Sarah (Lewis) Lepley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Albert Elison Rexroad; three brothers, Mahlon, Sam, and Paul Lepley; and two sisters, Edith McCoferity and Marion Johnson.
Mrs. Rexroad was a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Cumberland.
Surviving are one son, Albert Eugene Rexroad and wife Joy, Whitehall; one daughter, Alberta Darlene Airhart and husband James L., Jessup; one brother, Sylvester Lepley, Cumberland; four sisters, Ann Dircks, Baltimore, Clara Smith, Columbus, Ohio, Evelyn Bennett, Cumberland, Betty Smith, Geneva, Ohio; five grandchildren, Tina Vossler, Baltimore, Sherri Smith and husband Joe, Phiadelphia, Pa., Terri Rexroad, Baltimore, Kimberly Airhart, Houston, Texas, and Pamela Hayes and husband Randy, Westminster; and one great-grandson, Daniel J. Smith.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home, Saturday at 10 a.m. with R. William Brode and the Rev. Sherrill A. Dillon, officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland
MARVIN P. WARNICK
LAYTONSVILLE - Marvin Paul Warnick, 75, of Laytonsville, Montgomery County, died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 1999, at Montgomery General Hospital, Olney, following a brief illness.
Born June 14, 1924, he was the son of the late William Clay and Julia Ellen (Lee) Warnick.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Freda Mae (Wilt) Warnick; a son, Walter L. Warnick and wife Anne, Laytonsville; two granddaughters, Ashlie Colleen Warnick, Alexandria, Va., and Leah Brooke Warnick, Latonsville; and a sister, Eleanor Wolfe and husband Paul, Livonia, Mich. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Franklin and Eldridge Warnick.
Born in Westernport, he moved with his family to Barton, where he attended school and graduated from Barton High School in 1942. He served with the U.S. Army in the United States and Europe during World War II. He attended the University of Baltimore on the GI Bill, where he graduated in 1949 with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. From 1950 until his retirement in 1976, he worked for the Internal Revenue Service in Baltimore and Washington, D.C. He later worked with his family in the construction of several homes including his last residence in Laytonsville.
Very much interested in Western Maryland genealogy, he and Freda worked with their son Walter in publishing volumes of family history about the Warnicks, Lees, Wilts and Fazenbakers.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., Grantsville, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 2 p.m.
Interment will be in the Bittinger Cemetery.
MABEL M. REYNOLDS
CUMBERLAND - Mabel Miller Reynolds, 89, formerly of Baltimore Pike, Cumberland, died Friday, Sept. 24, 1999, at Cape Coral, Fla., where she had been residing.
Born March 29, 1910, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late John Miller and the late Estella (Mountain) Miller. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, the late Marshall Hardman, and the late Ralph Reynolds; and a brother, Robert Miller.
Mrs. Reynolds was a retired employee of Montgomery Ward Department Store. She was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, the Homemakers of Pleasant Grove, American Legion Auxiliary, and the church choir.
Surviving are two daughters, Marian Chambers and husband the Rev. Richard, Greencastle, Pa., and Karen Durrett and husband Bruce, Cape Coral, Fla.; a brother, Fred Miller, Lewisburg, Pa.; a sister, Pearl Fisher, Baltimore Pike, Cumberland; seven grandchildren, Connie Anderson, Cindy House, Cathy Staggs, Mark Chambers, Paul Chambers, Tyra Durrett Winters, and Kara Durrett Dolan; 14 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., with the Rev. Thomas Landaker, officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
JOSEPH WILLIAM RICE SR.
CUMBERLAND - Joseph William Rice Sr., 60, of Cumberland, died Friday, June 18, 1999, at his residence.
Born Oct. 10, 1938, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Albert and Rose (Maffley) Rice. He was preceded in death by one son, Joseph William Rice Jr.; three sisters, Anna Kipe, Hilda Miller and Betty Price.
Mr. Rice was a former employee of the B&O; Railroad. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley (Shives) Rice; one daughter, Diana Martin and husband, Raymond; one son, Keith A. Rice and wife, Denise, all of Cumberland; two sisters, Doris Abe and husband, Bob, Mary Morris and husband, George; three brothers, Albert Rice Jr. and wife, Katherine, Charles Rice and wife, Ellen, Kenneth Rice and Carol, all of Cumberland; five grandchildren, Katie A. Rice, Keith Rice Jr., Shane J. Martin, Brison D. Martin and Bradley K. Martin.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John Footen officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland.

LEONARD L. RICE
CUMBERLAND - Leonard Lee Rice, 72, of 11808 Eastman Road, N.E., Cumberland, went to be with the Lord Saturday, Oct. 30, 1999, at Memorial Hospital Hospice.
Born Feb. 9, 1927, in Flintstone, he was the son of the late Homer C. Rice and Zerna (Jordan) Rice. He also was preceded in death by one brother, Richard D. Rice.
Mr. Rice was a retired employee of the Ford Motor Company in Ohio and Michigan. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War where he received the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Surviving are his wife, Virginia Lee (Householder) Rice of 46 years; several nieces and nephews, one of which he raised, Jason Householder, Cumberland; special niece, Denise Elkins, Cumberland; two brothers, Ralph Rice, Flintstone, and Homer Rice, Hampton, Va.; and three sisters, Evelyn Rice, Cumberland, Mae Opie, Bel Air, and Marion Hoopengardner, Flintstone.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted there Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Robert Hymes officiating.
Interment will be in the Maryland Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap. Military rites will be accorded at graveside by local veterans organizations.
ELSIE L. TEETER
CUMBERLAND - Elsie L. Teeter, 94, of Oldtowne Manor Apartments, Cumberland, died Wednesday, April 14, 1999, at a personal care home on Weber Street.
Born Aug. 30, 1904, in Wellersburg, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Bernard E. Weimer and Emma (Goodrich) Weimer. She also was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Teeter, in 1974; four sons, Leonard Teeter, 1931, Donald Teeter, 1990, McKinley Teeter, 1992, and Kenneth Owen Teeter, 1997; and a daughter-in-law, Gertie Teeter, and a grandson, Larry Teeter, of England. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Mrs. Teeter was a retired sitter at Sacred Heart and Memorial hospitals. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church.
She is survived by five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many special friends.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home Friday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Maxwell J. Greenfield and Floyd Bender officiating.
Interment will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Flintstone.
