LULU D. SETZER
LAVALE - Lulu D. Setzer, 79, of LaVale, died Wednesday, May 5, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Feb. 1, 1920, in Greenville Township, Pa., she was the daughter of the late John M. and Alice E. (Garlets) Deal. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold E. Setzer; four sisters, Sadie Caton, Clara Deal, Mabel Deal and Carrie Deal; and her brother, Harvey Deal.
Mrs. Setzer was a member of Salem United Church of Christ, Frostburg, the Golden Guild, and the Kelly Retirement Club, Local 26.
Surviving are two daughters, Lois Fitzgerald and husband, Robert, Acworth, Ga., and Shirley Melton and husband, Steven, Tazewell, Va.; and two grandchildren, Brian and Jennifer Fitzgerald.
Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., 60 W. Main St., on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Lawrence R. Frye officiating.
Interment will be in Greenville Cemetery.

ALEDA M. SEVINSKY
FROSTBURG - Aleda Mae Sevinsky, 64, of 102 Maple St., Frostburg, died Thursday, June 3, 1999, at the Frostburg Village Nursing Care Center.
Born Aug. 28, 1934, in Midlothian, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Elizabeth Zella (Negley) Drew. Her husband, James Leo Sevinsky, also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Sevinsky was a retired supervisor of the housekeeping department at Frostburg State University.
She was a member of the Trinity Assembly of God Church, Midlothian; Farrady Unit 24 American Legion Auxiliary; Women of the Moose Lodge 221; Knights of Columbus #1442 Ladies Shuffleboard Team, and was a life member of the Shaft Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, where she was past president.
Surviving are a sister, Sharon Femi and husband Joe, Morantown; four brothers, Raymond V. Drew, Midlothian, Dave Drew and wife Regina, Shaft, Wayne Drew and wife Cheryl, Cumberland, and Ernest Drew and wife Gail, Gilmore; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Memorial services will be held at the funeral home on Friday by the Shaft Volunteer Fire Department at 7 p.m. and by the Farrady Unit 24 American Legion Auxiliary at 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Jimmie Blair officiating.
Interment will be in the Frostburg Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Drew, Danny Drew, Randy Drew, Lynn Broadwater and Ron Laber. Honorary pallbearer will be Mark Drew.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the Trinity Assembly of God Church or the Shaft Volunteer Fire Department.
WENDY LEE YOST
FORT MEADE - Wendy Lee (Wade) Yost, 31, of Fort Meade, formerly of South Cumberland, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 12, 1999, at her home in Fort Meade.
Born June 17, 1967, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of Robert C. Wade Jr., Cumberland, and Mary (Kamauf) White, Cumberland. She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Samuel M. White, paternal grandparents, Robert and Angela Wade Sr.; and maternal grandfather, James A. Kamauf.
Mrs. Yost was an accountant for the Chevron Truck Stop in Oak Grove, Ky. She was a 1986 graduate of Fort Hill High School and attended Allegany College and Frostburg State University. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, Cumberland, and was a Girl Scout leader.
In addition to her parents, surviving are her husband, Staff Sergeant Robert J. Yost; one daughter, Ashley Raye Yost, at home; maternal grandmother, Vivian (Parker) Walker; stepmother, Janet L. (Randall) Wade, both of Cumberland; step-maternal grandfather, George Walker; one brother, Donald J. Wade and wife, Charlene, Cleveland, Ohio; three sisters, Debbie J. Mosier and husband, Daryl, Linda S. Mauren and husband, Bill, Theresa A. Cage, all of Cumberland; mother-in-law, Betty A. Lear and husband, Thomas L. Sr.; father-in-law, Robert A. Yost, all of Cumberland; one brother-in-law, Richard A. Yost and wife, Samantha, Jacksonville, N.C.; one sister-in-law, Janet L. Cowgill, Cumberland; best friend, Shawnee Rank and husband, Richard, Cumberland; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

EMMA K. SCHAIDT
OLDTOWN - Emma K. Schaidt, 86, of Canterbury Nursing Home, Shepherdstown, W.Va., formerly of Oldtown, died Monday, Feb. 22, 1999, at the nursing home.
Born July 9, 1912, in Moorefield, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Sadie (Myers) Shrout. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin R. 'Slip' Schaidt; three brothers; and five sisters.
Mrs. Schaidt was a homemaker. She was a member of Oldtown United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Claribelle Nixon, Oldtown, Billie Rae Householder and husband, David, Martinsburg, W.Va.; one son, Larry L. Schaidt and wife, Judy, Winchester, Va.; one sister, Violet Gorman and husband, John, Cumberland; one brother, Thurman 'Dick' Shrout, Oldtown; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Fred Parker, cousin of Mrs. Schaidt, officiating.
Interment will be in Davis Memorial Cemetery.

EDNA E. SHAFER
CUMBERLAND - Edna Elizabeth Shafer, 95, of Cumberland, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Nov. 21, 1999, at Memorial Hospital.
Born May 19, 1904, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late James and Fannie (Scadden) Lowman. In addition to her parents, she also was preceded in death by her husband, the late Carl C. Shafer Sr., who died in 1987; two brothers; and nine sisters. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Mrs. Shafer was retired from the dietary department at Memorial Hospital. She was a Protestant by faith.
Surviving are one son, Carl C. Shafer Jr., and wife Charlene; one daughter, Juanita E. Kirby, both of Cumberland; seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Charles Riggleman officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, George Kirby III, Terry Kirby, William Kirby, Bruce Shafer, David Shafer, and James Shafer. Lori Shafer Bean will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

C. GLENN SHAFFER
LOCH LYNN - C. Glenn Shaffer, 75, of 503 Roanoke Ave., Loch Lynn, died Thursday, April 29, 1999, at his home.
Born Dec. 3, 1923, in Gorman, W.Va., he was a son of the late Jay Camden Shaffer and Dora (Selders) Shaffer. He also was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Shaffer and Dale Shaffer; and three sisters, Marion Rice, Helen Hauser and Lois Shaffer.
Mr. Shaffer was a retired coal miner; a U.S. Army veteran of World War II; a member of Proctor Kildow Post 71 American Legion; and a member of the Faith Evangelical Free Church.
Surviving are his wife, Lucinda 'Cindy' (Liller) Shaffer; three sons, Kenneth G. Shaffer, Deer Park, Roger D. Shaffer, Loch Lynn, and Joseph E. Shaffer, Oakland; two daughters, Christina J. Ritchie, Oakland, and Susan E. Brenneman, Loch Lynn; one brother, Robert Shaffer, Cresaptown; one sister, Josephine DeWitt, Fairmont, W.Va.; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Friends may call at the Durst Funeral Home, Oakland, on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the Faith Evangelical Free Church on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Fred Poorbaugh officiating.
Interment will be in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside by members of local veterans organizations.
The family suggests that memorials take the form of contributions to the Hospice of Garrett County or the Southern Rescue Squad.
