OLIVER R. WINEBRENNER
CUMBERLAND - Oliver R. Winebrenner, 79, of Cumberland, died Thursday, Oct. 14, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born on Nov. 7, 1919, in Ridgeley, W.Va., he was the son of the late Lonnie R. and Cora V. (Swadley)Winebrenner. He was also preceded in death by his son, Ivan Winebrenner.
Mr. Winebrenner was retired from Allegany Ballistics Laboratory, where he was a powder operator. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Marian (Wheeler) Winebrenner; four children, Charlotte Pyles, Morgantown, W.Va., Carolyn Brown and husband, Frank, Conowingo, Irvin Winebrenner and wife, Suzan, and Christine Hailer and husband, Arthur, Monrovia; 11 grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Helen Winebrenner, Erie, Pa.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.
The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Edward Dickel, officiating.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Burial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to either Calvary United Methodist Church, 28 Knobley St., Ridgeley, W.Va., 26753 or to the charity of one's choice.
DAVID H. SHAW JR.
WESTERNPORT - David H. Shaw Jr., 30, of Lake Lanier, Gainesboro, Ga., formerly of Westernport, died Saturday, April 24, 1999, as a result of an automobile accident in Drew County, Ark.
Born Oct. 5, 1968, in Cumberland, he was the son of David H. Shaw Sr. and Frances Ann Shaw, Westernport. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, John C. "Jack" Shaw, and Wallace D. Rigsby.
Dave graduated as salutatorian from the 1986 class of Bruce High School. He was also a graduate of Western Maryland College in Westminster. He was an outstanding scholar and athlete both in high school and in college. At Bruce, he participated in football, baseball and basketball for four years, and was honored as most outstanding for both football and basketball. He continued his basketball career at Western Maryland College. He was a member of the National Honor Society, a Maryland Distinguished Scholar, and represented Bruce High School at the Hugh O'Brien Youth Leadership Conference for two years. He was also a very talented musician.
Mr. Shaw served as an assistant coach of Smithsburg High School boys basketball team. He was also dedicated to helping his father run their own business of DHS Productions. He worked for RPS-FedEx Company and later moved to Arkansas and then Georgia, where he owned and operated Video Enterprises. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Westernport.
Dave was a beloved son, a loving brother to his two sisters, a devoted grandson and uncle, and he touched everyone he knew with his sharp sense of humor. He will be terribly missed by his family and friends.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his two sisters, Stacey Weimer and husband Rick of Westernport, and Shannon Shaw and fiance, Vince Green, Gilmore; grandmothers, Katharine Shaw and Regina Rigsby, both of Westernport; two special nieces, Taylor Cutter and Torey Weimer; one nephew Ricky Weimer; aunts and uncles, Robin Everline and husband, Joey, McCoole, Julie Determan and husband, Bill, Frostburg, John C. Shaw Jr., and wife, Martha, Frostburg, and Liz Kalbaugh, LaVale; and numerous cousins that were close to him.
Friends will be received at the Fredlock Funeral Home, Piedmont, on Tuesday, April 27, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at St. Peter's Church at 11 a.m. with Father Jim Hannon as Celebrant.
Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, any donations may be made to the David H. Shaw Jr. Memorial Athlete Scholarship Fund that has been set up at the American Trust Bank.
ROGER F. WOTRING
CRESAPTOWN - Roger Frush Wotring, 90, of Cresaptown, died Saturday, Aug. 21, 1999, at the Sacred Heart Hospital Hospice Unit, Cumberland.
Born Jan. 10, 1909, in Aurora, W.Va., he was the son of the late John and Mary (Frush) Wotring. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice (Sanders) Wotring; and 12 brothers and sisters.
Mr. Wotring was a former employee of the Celanese Corp. and a self-employed barber in Cresaptown. His shop was located on the corner of McMullen Highway and Winchester Road. He attended school in Aurora, and graduated from barber college in Baltimore. He was a member of the Cresaptown United Methodist Church.
Surviving are one son, Roger G. Wotring and wife Betty, Cresaptown; four grandchildren, Diana L. Stieringer, Cumberland, Kevin L. Wotring and wife Karen, Louisville, Ky., Blain C. Wotring and wife Debbie, Bel Air, Cumberland, and Pamela S. Mullan and husband Jeff, Winchester, Va.; and four great-grandchildren, Kody L. Wotring, Korey J. Wotring, Kaitlyn N. Mullan and Andrew B. Mullan.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., Cresaptown, Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the Cresaptown United Methodist Church on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Harold R. McClay Jr. officiating.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
The family requests that contributions be made to the Organ Fund at Cresaptown United Methodist Church.
PAULINE A. YEARGAN
HAGERSTOWN - Pauline A. Yeargan, 69, of Hagerstown, formerly of Cumberland, died Monday, Dec. 6, 1999, at her residence.
Born July 9, 1930, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Helen (Hogan) Mantheiy. She also was preceded in death by one sister and four brothers.
Mrs. Yeargan was retired from the Ravenwood Nursing Home as a registered nurse. She was a 1948 graduate of St. Mary's High School and was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Hagerstown.
Surviving are her husband, Thomas J. Yeargan; two daughters, Gail L. Yeargan and Mary L. Yeargan, both of Hagerstown; five sons, Thomas L. Yeargan and wife Lanita, Clear Spring, Paul L. Yeargan, Hagerstown, Raymond L. Yeargan and wife Cindee, Waynesboro, Frederick L. Yeargan and wife Theresa, Fairplay, and Gregory H. Yeargan and wife Maryann, Clear Spring; one brother, John Mantheiy and wife Vada, Baltimore; and eight grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., on Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. A Christian Wake will be conducted Wednesday at 8:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the St. Mary's Catholic Church on Thursday at 1 p.m. with Monsignor Robert S. Passarelli as celebrant.
Interment will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery.

ELEANOR D. SHEALLY
MT. LAKE PARK - Eleanor Delores Sheally, 67, of Mt. Lake Park, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 1999, at her home.
Born Nov. 27, 1931, in Lonaconing, she was the daughter of the late Daniel L. Logsdon and Mary (Barry) Logsdon. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Willard T. Sheally in 1990.
Surviving are two sons, Drew A. Sheally, Oakland, and Brian D. Sheally, Mt. Lake; two daughters, Renee T. Savage and Donna L. Mullan, both of Mt. Lake; three sisters, Rita Hartley, Marianna McGreevy, and Monica Mason, all of Clearwater, Fla.; and 6 grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Durst Funeral Home, Oakland, Tuesday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Peter's Catholic Church Wednesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Donald Parson as celebrant.
Interment will be in the Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery.
Family suggests memorials be directed to the Southern Rescue Squad or Saint Peter's Catholic Church.
JERRY E. WEIMER
ACCIDENT - Jerry Edward Weimer, 22, of 827 Aiken-Miller Road, Accident, died Tuesday, Sept. 15, 1999, as a result of a logging accident in Wharton Township, Fayette County, Pa.
Born June 17, 1977, in Meyersdale, Pa., he was the son of John E. and Debbie M. (Nicol) Weimer, of Frostburg,(Garrett County).
Mr. Weimer was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, Grantsville, and was employed as a logger for Custer Logging. He was a Maryland Certified Logger. A 1995 graduate of Northern High School, Accident, he was a former member of 4-H and VICA.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Kista Kay (Knox) Weimer; a son, Ryan Dwayne Weimer, at home; two brothers, Ronnie L. Weimer and J.J. Weimer, both of Frostburg; four sisters, Melissa A. Savage and husband, Tim, Finzel, Cindy G. Frantz and husband, Mike, Friendsville, Sara E. Weimer and Laura M. Weimer, both of Frostburg, his maternal grandmother, Eloise Nicol, Lonaconing, and his paternal grandmother, Eleanor Colmer, Barton.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, on Friday 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday in the funeral home at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Paul Byrnes and the Rev. Alan Kauffman officiating.
Interment will be in St. Ann's Cemetery.
