MARY ELIZABETH THOMPSON
CUMBERLAND - Mary Elizabeth Thompson, 83, of 449 Pine Ave., died Sunday, Sept. 26, 1999 in Clairton, Pa.
Born in Cumberland on July 14, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Charles William Broome and Jessie Elizabeth (Jones) Broome. She also was preceded by her husband Henry Blair Thompson.
Mrs. Thompson was a member of McKendree Methodist Church on Paca Street, Cumberland. She had worked at the Maryland Theater.
Surviving are two sisters, Genevieve Lewis, Clairton, and Miss Diane Broome, Clairton; one brother, Benjamin Broome, Harrisburg, Pa.; special friends, Mayola and Carter Banks, Cumberland; three brothers-in-law, James P. Thompson, Basil Thompson and Troy Thompson; two sisters-in-law, Farell Turner and Jessie Rodwell, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m..
Services will be conducted there on Wednesday at 11 a.m.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
LILLIAN M. TREIBER
CRESAPTOWN - Lillian McKee Treiber, 91, of 13415 Bristol Drive S.W., Cresaptown, passed away from this life into the loving arms of Jesus her Lord and Savior on Sunday, Oct. 10, 1999, at her home.
Born in Lord, Md., Feb. 14, 1908, she was the daughter of the late James McKee and the late Clara (Whitefield) McKee. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William "Howard" Treiber, in August 1970; six brothers, James, Henry, Clinton, William, Earl, and Stanley McKee; and two sisters, Mary Ewing and Elizabeth Smith.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She was a kind, special, caring lady, whom was loved greatly and will be missed by her family and many loving and dear friends.
Surviving are six nephews, Charles Treiber, Ernest Lee Smith, Howard McKee, Larry Ewing, Clinton McKee, and Arthur McKee; six nieces, Shirley Caton, Cathy Myers, Jackie Neal, Edith McMannis, Dorothy Spiker, and Ada Sharp; her "special adopted family", daughter, Joy Weaver and husband, Charles; granddaughter, Jody Phillips and husband, David; her very special great-grandchildren, Bryan, Tisha, and David Phillips; and a special son, Stanley L. Goodrich and wife, Helen.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home, Wednesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. John J. Duffus, officiating.
Burial is in Greenmount Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be, Larry Ewing, Howard McKee, Charles Weaver, David Treiber, Stanley Caton, and Jack Treiber.
EDNA M. TRENUM
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio - Mrs. Edna Marie Trenum, age 92, a resident of the Willow Knoll Retirement Community, Middletown, died Sunday morning, Jan. 10, 1999.
She was born in Elk Garden, W.Va., on Aug. 28, 1906, a daughter of Jesse and Elizabeth (Poland) Metcalf. She and her late husband, the Rev. C.W. Trenum, had pastored multiple churches in the mid-Atlantic region, and pastored the Full Gospel Tabernacle and the First Christian Assembly of God in Middletown.
She is survived by nine sons, C.W., Jr., and wife, Claudia, Warrenton, Va., Donald and wife, Alice, Locust Grove, Va., Norman and wife, Ruby, Middletown, David and wife, Mary, Clermont, Ind., Fitzhugh and wife Phyllis, Middletown, Raymond and wife, Barbara, Warrenton, Gilbert and wife, Blenda, Manassas, Va., Ronald and wife, Vicki, Franklin, Ohio, and Gary and wife, Mary, Oakwood, Ohio; 25 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Marple, Oakland, Md.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Joanne.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. C.W. Trenum Jr. and the Rev. Bruce Powell officiating.
The body will then be taken to the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, Md., where visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, and funeral services at 11 a.m. on Friday.
Burial will follow in Philos Cemetery, Westernport.
EDISON TRICKETT
ACCIDENT - Edison Trickett, 82, of 304 Main St. Ext., Accident, died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1999, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland.
Born July 11, 1916, in Gilmore, he was a son of the late William and Jean (Giffin) Trickett.
Mr. Trickett was a retired courier for RCA Communications and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Marie (Leebrick) Trickett; two sons, Wayne Trickett, Sterling, Va., and Ronald Trickett, Rockville; three daughters, Joyce M. Haynes, North Beach, Marlena J. Coons, Waldorf, and Virginia F. Cavenaugh, Harrells, N.C.; a sister, Margaret J. Trickett, Morgantown, W.Va.; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Accident, on Saturday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Roland E. Nairn III officiating.
The Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., Grantsville, is in charge of arrangements.
CLARENCE TRIMBLE SR.
CUMBERLAND - Clarence E. Trimble Sr., 69, formerly of Cumberland, died Friday, Feb. 19, 1999, in Chambersburg, Pa.
He was born May 2, 1929, in Cumberland, Md., a son of Christine (Trimble) Gant and the late Earl Banks.
Mr. Trimble worked as a chef, and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley; two sons, Edward and Clarence E. Trimble Jr., both of New Haven, Conn.; four daughters, Christine Trimble, Percilla Trimble, Taressa Trimble and Carol Turner, all of New Haven; three step children; one brother, Russell Trimble Sr. and wife, Delores, Cumberland; and a number of nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitation.
Interment will take place at the Maryland State Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap at a later date.
Leasure-Stein Funeral Home, Cumberland, is in charge of local arrangements.
ROBERT E. TRITT
CUMBERLAND - Robert Elton Tritt went home to be with the Lord, July 6, 1999, after a short illness.
He was born in Cumberland on Sept. 19, 1922, to John and Amelia Tritt.
He graduated from Allegany High School, class of 1940, and Bliss Electrical School, and he attended Franklin Marshall and York Colleges. From 1942-1946 he served in the U.S. Navy as a cryptologist in the Pacific during World War II. In 1987 he retired after a 40-year career with IBM in Washington, D.C., York and Lancaster, Pa., and Fort Lauderdale, Miami and Boca Raton, Fla. He was a member of the advisory board of Broward Community College, the Broward County School Superintendents Commission for the Improvement of Public Education (SCOPE); Optimist International, Data Processing Management Association; DeMolay; and the Masonic Lodge.
He has participated in numerous career days in high schools and community colleges in the tri-county area, and was a loan executive to the United Way of Dade County in 1978. He was also active in his church, and is elder emeritus at First Church West.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Elizabeth June (Pritt); three sons, Rev. David Tritt and his wife, Betsy (Grimm), Bel Air, John and his wife, Lorna (Merlo), North Lauderdale, and Michael and his wife, Rita (Smith), Pompano, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; a brother, Harry Tritt, York, Pa.; a sister, Gertrude Moreland, LaVale; a niece; and two nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to Beacon Baptist Church, 5700 Ranelagh Road, White Marsh, MD 21162, Attn: Robert Tritt Memorial Fund.
A memorial service was held on Friday, July 9, 10 a.m. at T.M. Ralph Plantation Funeral Home.
Friends were received following the service.
Inurnment took place at Forest Lawn South Cemetery.

MARTIN L. TROSHAK SR.
OAKLAND - Martin Leroy Troshak Sr., 78, of Oakland, died Monday, May 31, 1999, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland.
He was born Jan. 23, 1921, in Lonaconing, and was a son of the late Frank Troshak and Mary Virginia (Lynch) Troshak. He also was preceded in death by one daughter, Donna L. Miller.
Mr. Troshak was a retired iron worker, having worked for the American Bridge Co. in Pittsburgh. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Beverly (Parks) Troshak; two sons, Martin L. Troshak Jr. and wife Connie, New Stanton, Pa., and David Troshak and fiancee Lucy Paugh, Oakland; two daughters, Mary K. Housley, Oakland, and Joyce Troshak, Oakland; one son-in-law, Glenn Miller, Oakland; one brother, Richard Troshak, Westminster, Pa.; one sister, Mary Frances Real, Scranton, Pa.; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Durst Funeral Home, Oakland, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Bill Martin officiating.
Interment will be in Garrett County Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be accorded at graveside by members of various veterans organizations.
