Rose Malone
Rose M. Malone, 93, of Annapolis and previously of Clinton, died Aug. 3, 2002 at Heritage Harbour Health Center of natural causes.
Mrs. Malone was born Jan. 24, 1909, in Italy.
She was a dedicated housewife and mother and loved cooking, her family said.
Her husband, Michael Malone, died in 1994.
She is survived by one son, Richard Malone of Florida; one daughter, Alice D. Long of Annapolis; seven brothers; two sisters; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitors may call from 1 to 3 p.m. tomorrow at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater and where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Resurrection cemetery in Clinton.
Rita Nagel
Rita J. Nagel, 65, of Pinellas Park, Fla., died Aug. 2, 2002 at Sun Coast Hospital in Largo, Fla., of natural causes.
Mrs. Nagel was born July 19, 1937, in Baltimore. She was a homemaker and a longtime resident of Severna Park before moving to Florida in 1993.
Surviving are her mother, Mrs. Velma Robinson of Pinellas Park; one son, M. Edward Nagel of Dayton, Ohio; one sister, Mrs. Santa Cross of Newberry, Fla.
Services will be announced later. Interment will be at Cedar Hill cemetery in Brooklyn, Md. Arrangements are by Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home.
Anne Young
Anne Schluter Young, 96, a longtime resident of Annapolis, died Aug. 1, 2002 at Sunrise Assisted Living.
Mrs. Young was born Dec. 19, 1905, in Parkersburg, Iowa. She attended teachers college there and was a school teacher in a one-room school in Iowa before moving to Washington, D. C. to work for the federal government in 1925. On Aug. 24, 1928, she married
and became a homemaker.
She tutored young children and was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church in Annapolis. Her hobbies included travel, gardening and reading.
She was predeceased by her husband, Harold Young, who died March 31, 1973.
Surviving are one son, Harold S. Young Jr. of Annapolis; one daughter, Mary Anne Ocker of Boise, Idaho; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date and burial is private. Arrangements are by the Hardesty Funeral Home of Annapolis.
Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be sent to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 8424 Veterans Highway, Millersville, MD 21108.
Daryl Bailey
Services for Daryl G. Bailey, 24, of Churchton, will be held at noon Thursday at Rausch Funeral Home, 8325 Mount Harmony Lane, Owings, where visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow.
Mr. Bailey died Aug. 3 at Anne Arundel Medical Center of injuries received in a motorcycle accident in Deale earlier that day.
He was born on June 24, 1978, in Baltimore and lived in Davidsonville until moving to Churchton in 1986. He attended Shady Side Elementary School, Southern Middle School and Southern High School where he lettered in football.
He was married
on March 11, 2001, to the former Christine N. Schaeffer and they lived in Churchton.
He was employed as a project manager for Flintstone's Holdings, a construction company based in Landover Hills.
His interests included walking and jogging outings with his wife and daughter, Alyssa N. Bailey of the home. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing darts, hunting and fishing.
In addition to his wife and daughter, he is survived by his parents, Bonnie K. and James D. Bailey of Churchton; his grandmother, Bernadette Bailey of Butternuts, N.Y.; his great-grandmother, Muriel O'Heron of Sidney, N.Y.; one sister, Carol M. Bowen of Shady Side; one brother, James D. Bailey Jr. of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and four nephews.
Burial will be in Lakemont cemetery in Davidsonville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alyssa N. Bailey Education Fund, in care of Theresa Jackson, 1415 E. W. Shady Side Road, Shady Side, MD 20764.
Thressa Coleman
Thressa Juanita Coleman, 67, of Gambrills, died Aug. 3, 2002 of cancer at her home.
Mrs. Coleman was born May 2, 1935, in Bowie. She was a homemaker who was very active with her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Gambrills and enjoyed cooking, sewing and yard sales.
On March 24, 1956, she was married
to Harley E. Coleman.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Joannie Coleman-Casey and Jody Jallepalli of Gambrills; two brothers, George Cole of Cape St. Claire and Kenneth Cole of Hyattsville; seven sisters; Shirley Reio of Chester, Lida Winter of Annapolis, Esther Gannaway of Davidsonville, Catherine Hood of Odenton, Edith Cox of Gambrills, Mary Lowman of South Carolina and June Hardesty of Deerfield Beach, Fla.; and two grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late Louise Webster, Alice Jarrell, Ruth Curtin, Dorothy Hittle and Charles W., Howard, Arthur and James Cole as well as three brothers who died as very young children.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Hardesty Funeral Home, 851 Annapolis Road, Gambrills. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Defense Highway, Gambrills. Burial will be in Maryland Veterans cemetery in Crownsville.
Walter Fowler
Walter Henry "Walt" Fowler, 85, a longtime resident of Annapolis, died of cancer Aug. 4, 2002 at his home.
Born July 10, 1917, in Edgewater, Mr. Fowler was a master barber. He operated Walt's Barber Shop which was formerly Fowler's Barber Shop, on West Street for 50 years.
He was a charter member of the Church of the Nazarene in Eastport. His interests included wood carving, bowling, gardening, reading the Bible and ministering to shut-ins.
On Dec. 29, 1937, he was married
to Helen Celestia Rodgers Fowler.
Also surviving are two daughters, Yvonne Norwood of Montross, Va., and Sylvia Michaelson of Helena, Mont.; four brothers, Gary Fowler of West Point, Calif., the Rev. Thomas Fowler of Georgia, the Rev. Robert Fowler of Louisville, Ky., and the Rev. Ira Fowler of Hollywood in St. Mary's County; two sisters, Emily Suit of Annapolis and Dorothy Hardy of Severna Park; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was the son of the late Gary and Mary Miller Fowler and had a deceased granddaughter.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester St. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Church of the Nazarene, 1309 Bay Ridge Ave. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Deborah Mims
Deborah Ann Tyler "Debbie" Mims, 44, of Annapolis, died of respiratory failure Aug. 2, 2002 at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
Mrs. Mims was born Sept. 26, 1957, in Annapolis. She was a graduate of Southern High School in Harwood and Annapolis Beauty Academy.
She married
Anthony M. Mims on April 6, 1991.
Mrs. Mims was employed by the Anne Arundel County public school system at South River High School.
She was a member of Franklin United Methodist Church in Churchton, Mount Moriah A.M.E. Church and Fowlers United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed collecting Asian and Oriental items, shopping, and church-related activities.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Kevin T. Jones, and her daughter, Ashley M. Mims; her father, Harry W. Tyler Sr.; her grandmother, Elizabeth Thompson; two brothers, Harry W. Tyler Jr. and Thomas S. Tyler; and three sisters, Vonita L. Tyler and Gwendolyn D. Tyler, all of Annapolis, and Rhonda L. Tyler of Glen Burnie.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. tomorrow at Reese and Sons Mortuary, 821 West St. A Christian wake will be from 10:30 to 11 am. Thursday at Franklin United Methodist Church, 5345 Deale-Churchton Road, Churchton, followed by the funeral. Burial will be in Bestgate Memorial Gardens.
