Theresa Harper
Theresa Rose Harper, 76, a longtime resident of Herald Harbor, died Aug. 15, 2002 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a brief illness.
Born in Fishers Island, N.Y., Mrs. Harper was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Auxiliary of Fleet Reserve Branch 24, the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association of which her late husband was a member, the American Legion Post 7 Auxiliary and the Millersville 55 Plus Club.
Her interests were playing bingo, traveling and attending club meetings.
Survivors include two sons, James T. Harper Jr. of Relay, Patrick H. Harper of Herald Harbor; three daughters, Holly Ragland of Chesapeake, Va., Gail Dagnall of Suffolk, Va., and Shawn Brown of Middleburg, Ill; one sister, Adda May Stultz of Chaneysville, Pa.; and one granddaughter. Her husband, James T. Harper died in 1989.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the Hardesty Funeral Home, 851 Annapolis Road, Gambrills. The funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at the Maryland Veterans Chapel in Crownsville with burial to follow in the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Associated Catholic Charities, 320 Cathedral St., Baltimore, MD 21201.
Vincenzo Townsend
A Mass of Christian burial was offered at 9 a.m. today at St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Annapolis for Vincenzo "Vince" Pio Townsend, 20, a lifetime resident of Annapolis.
He died from injuries sustained in an automobile accident Aug. 11, 2002 while visiting his father in Maybee, Mich.
Mr. Townsend was born in Annapolis, Jan. 1, 1982.
He attended St. Mary's Elementary School and was home schooled through high school.
He was employed as an electrician, working on residential and commercial construction projects.
He was a member of St. Mary's Church.
He was interested in animals, the outdoors and enjoyed building remote control cars.
He is survived by his parents, Madonna Ristaino of Annapolis and Kevin Townsend of Maybee, Mich.; two brothers, David and Tony Witt of Annapolis; two sisters, Madonna Witt of Annapolis and Anastasia Vistoso of Annapolis and his grandparents, Antonio and Mary Ristaino of Annapolis.
Burial will be held at a later date. Arrangements were by the Taylor Funeral Home in Annapolis.
Marion Brown
Marion Elizabeth Brown, 86, of Severna Park, died Aug. 18, 2002 at her home.
Born on June 23, 1916, and raised in Baltimore, Mrs. Brown worked at Schuman's Bakery in Severna Park for 19 years, retiring as its manager.
She was a life member of the Earleigh Heights Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the Severna Park Chamber of Commerce.
On Saturday she was married
for 67 years to Howard W. Brown Sr.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Gordon H. Brown of Stevensville, Howard W. Brown Jr. of Jessup and Bernard T. Brown Sr. of Owings Mills; one sister, Juanita Miller of Westminster; two brothers, Morton Keefer of Severn and Ronald Keefer of Severna Park; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late Carrie Hagen, William Keefer, Dora Miller, Jean Surtis and Eileen Krenz.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, where services will be at noon Wednesday. Burial will be in Meadowridge cemetery in Elkridge.

Jesse Fentress
Jesse "Jack" M. Fentress, 75, an Edgewater resident for more than 25 years, died of Alzheimer's disease Aug. 18, 2002 at the Spa Creek Center-Genesis ElderCare Network in Annapolis.
Mr. Fentress was born in Central City, Ky., on June 29, 1927. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
A retired printer, he worked for the former Washington Star for 33 years and the Washington Times for 10 years.
Mr. Fentress raised and bred thoroughbred horses.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jean E. Fentress; three sons, J. Murray, Leo, L. and Stewart Fentress, and one daughter, Jean M. Fentress, all of Edgewater; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are by Kalas Funeral Home of Edgewater. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 1850 York Road, Suite D, Timonium, MD 21093-5142.
Helen Johnson
Helen Agnes Johnson, 75, of Arnold, died of a brain hemorrhage Aug. 17, 2002 at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore after an eight-day illness.
Mrs. Johnson was born March 3, 1927, and raised in Baltimore, and worked as a clerk for the Social Security Administration in Baltimore for many years. She moved to Arnold 18 years ago.
The widow of Walter D. Johnson, she is survived by two sons, Dennis Stumpf of Stewartstown, Pa., and William M. Stumpf of North Carolina; one stepson, Donald W. Johnson of Arizona; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, where services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Glen Haven cemetery in Glen Burnie.
Charles Sheetenhelm Jr.
Charles "Chuck" Murray Sheetenhelm Jr., 58, formerly of Annapolis, died of liver cancer Aug. 17, 2002 at his home in Chester.
Mr. Sheetenhelm was born in Baltimore on Sept. 7, 1943, and was a graduate of Annapolis High School. He served in the Army.
Mr. Sheetenhelm was employed as a fire safety advisor at the Beltway Fire Equipment Co. in Beltsville.
He was treasurer and past chancellor for the Knights of Pythias in Annapolis, a member of the Kent Island Elks Lodge 2576, Bay Country Moose and American Legion Post 0278 in Stevensville.
For his work with the American Red Cross, Mr. Sheetenhelm was recognized as a "CMV Hero Blood Donor."
He was an avid NASCAR fan. He also enjoyed crabbing and working with wood.
Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Elsie Jean "Cookie" Sheetenhelm; two sons, Rev. George Sheetenhelm of Churchton and Chief Petty Officer Mark Sheetenhelm of Norfolk, Va.; one daughter, Staci Chambers of Chester; one brother, David Sheetenhelm of Concord, Calif.; two sisters, Carol Cantler and Jane Bounelis of Annapolis; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road in Edgewater. Burial will be private.
