Edward Miles
Edward Leroy "Sonny" Miles, 66, of Essex, died of cancer Aug. 19, 2002 at the Gilchrist Center for Hospice in Towson.
Mr. Miles was born Feb. 16, 1937, in Sandy Hook, and was previously a longtime resident of south Baltimore. He worked as a cross-country tractor-trailer driver.
He enjoyed breeding and raising miniature pinschers and doberman pinschers. His interests also included horses, fishing and boating.
Surviving are his wife, Dolores "Snooky" Miles, whom he married
Sept. 20, 1955; two sons, Chuck Miles of Millersville and Doug Miles of Albuquerque, N.M.; four daughters, Linda Saavedra of Baltimore, Norma Thornton and Gloria Miles of Albuquerque and Pam Dewese of Essex; two brothers, Ronnie Miles of Stafford, Va., and Moe Miles of Pasadena; four sisters, Norma Milchling of Baltimore, Joan Paesch of Brooklyn Park, Gladys Reichart of Greensboro and Vickie Eden of Pasadena; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. tomorrow at Brudzinzki Funeral Home, 1407 Old Eastern Ave., Essex.
K. Montgomery
Katherine Naomi Montgomery, 89, a resident of Riva for 36 years, died Aug. 21, 2002 at the Crofton Convalescent Center.
Mrs. Montgomery was born April 22, 1913, in Washington, D.C., and formerly lived in Hyattsville. She retired in 1972 from the U.S. Department of the Interior.
She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Davidsonville. Her interests included gardening, quilting, doll making, knitting and china painting.
Her husband, Charles S. Montgomery, died Feb. 9, 1990. She was the mother of the late Raymond Grant and the grandmother of the late Robert J. Montgomery.
Surviving are two sons, Robert A. Montgomery of Davidsonville and Charles S. Montgomery of Alexandria, Va.; one daughter, Jeanne Brown of Davidsonville; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Holy Family Catholic Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Lakemont Cemetery. Arrangements are by Taylor Funeral Home.

Lois Bresch
Lois Mae Bresch, 75, died Aug. 20, 2002 at her home in Arnold.
Born May 27, 1927, in Providence, R.I., Mrs. Bresch was the daughter of the late Madelyn Asal. She attended public school in Rhode Island. On May 13, 1950, she married
Joseph D. Bresch, who died in January 1981.
Surviving are one son, Edward E. Bresch Sr. of Cordova; three daughters, Patricia Olsen and Judith Chapman, both of California, and Madelin Luna of Tennessee; a brother, Henry Asal of California; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Fellows, Helfenbein and Newman Funeral Home, 200 S. Harrison St., Easton. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Woodlawn cemetery in Easton.
Alexandra Denevan
A Mass of Christian burial for Alexandra Ann "Allie" Denevan, 16, of Edgewater, will be offered at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 515 Loch Haven Road, Edgewater.
Miss Denevan died Aug. 21, 2002 at Calvert Memorial Hospital in Prince Frederick from injuries suffered in an automobile accident at Lower Marlboro Road and Route 4 in Calvert County.
Born Sept. 18, 1985, in Annapolis, she was to be a senior this fall at South River High School where she was studying cosmetology.
She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
Surviving are her parents, Susan C. Denevan of Edgewater and Gregory J. Denevan of Riva; her twin sister, Josephine Beth Denevan, and another sister, Dana Marie Denevan, both of Edgewater; and her grandmother, Hilda M. Montgomery of Waldorf.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 tonight at the church. Burial in Lakemont cemetery in Davidsonville will follow the services. Arrangements are by Kalas Funeral Home in Edgewater.
James Dorsey Jr.
James E. "Pete" Dorsey Jr., 63, a lifelong resident of Owings, died of cancer Aug. 21, 2002 at Washington Hospital Center.
The son of the late James E. Dorsey Sr. and Jessie V. Dorsey, Mr. Dorsey was born in Prince Frederick on May 30, 1939, and was raised on the Dorsey family farm in Owings.
Mr. Dorsey attended Tracey's Elementary and Southern Junior High and graduated in 1957 from Southern High School. While in high school, he played baseball and was a member of the Future Farmers of America.
After high school, he was a lifelong farmer, primarily raising tobacco, corn and beef cattle on the Dorsey farm in Owings.
Along with farming, he enjoyed gardening, watching sports and his family. He was a member of the Friendship United Methodist Church and the Anne Arundel County Farm Bureau.
Surviving are his wife of 13 years, Carolyn D. "Bonnie" Dorsey; two stepsons, John C. Howes of Churchton and Michael W. Howes of Oakland; one stepdaughter, Michelle C. Taulbee of Prince Frederick; a sister, Nancy J. Miller of Tracys Landing; and four grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Dwight W. Dorsey.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Rausch Funeral Home, 8325 Mount Harmony Lane in Owings, where services will be at 11 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Friendship United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Faustena Fradd
Faustena Roberts "Frosty" Fradd, 93, of Gainesville and formerly of Vero Beach, Fla., died of a stroke Aug. 16, 2002 at Sterling House, an assisted living facility in Gainesville, after a two-week illness.
Mrs. Fradd was born April 26, 1909, in Marblehead, Mass. She received her bachelor of arts degree from Wellesley College.
Her husband, Navy Adm. John E. Fradd, Class of 1926 at the Naval Academy, died in 1989. The couple was married
in 1931.
During her husband's naval career, she served as president of the NATO Officers' Wives in Naples, Italy, in 1956.
Surviving are one son, John E. Fradd Jr. of Alachua, Fla.; two daughters, Dorothy F. Cole of Vero Beach and Penny F. Vahsen of Annapolis; 13 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service with interment will be at 2 p.m. Sept. 4 at the Naval Academy Columbarium. Arrangements are by Moring Funeral Home in Gainesville.
Gordon Mutch
D. A. Gordon Mutch, 90, a longtime Annapolis resident, died June 2, 2002 at the Chesapeake Hospice House in Linthicum.
Mr. Mutch was born in Muthill, Perthshire, Scotland, and came to America with his family in 1912. His father, the Rev. Andrew Mutch, had been called to assume the pastorship of the Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church near Philadelphia, a position he held for 24 years.
After graduating from Haverford School and attending Lafayette College, Mr. Mutch began a career in the private sector, including a number of years with Transcontinental and Western Air, Foote Mineral, Ocean City Manufacturing, Kaiser Aluminum and Lionel Train Co.
In 1956 he moved to Annapolis with his family, and in 1967 he began a 22-year career with Anne Arundel County. He retired in 1989 as the assistant director of Central Services. Among his commendations, he may have most enjoyed his status as "the quiet giant" of Central Services in recognition of his can-do attitude.
He enjoyed sailing and spent many years as instructor with the Annapolis Power Squadron where he was twice honored as the year's most valuable member. He also was a long-standing member of the Windjammers of the Chesapeake and of the Corinthians.
Mr. Mutch is survived by an older sister, Ada Mutch of Philadelphia; two children, Andrew Mutch II of Annapolis and Margaret "Peggy" Taber of Cleveland, Ohio; three grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
He was married
to Carolyn Mutch, who died in 1998.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Oct. 18 at the Epping Forest Chapel. Arrangements are by Taylor Funeral Home.
