Emilie Juers
Emilie Eleanora Herta Juers, 66, of Arnold, died Oct. 3, 2002 of complications of cancer at her home after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Juers was born July 18, 1936, and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y. She received an associate of arts degree from Anne Arundel Community College.
She was a member of St. Margaret's Homemakers and Gloria Dei! Lutheran Church in Arnold where she sang in the choir for many years. Her interests included reading, gardening and travel.
Surviving are her husband, Raymond Helmut Juers; two daughters, Ellen Ruth Hawkins of San Diego, Calif., and Lori Susan Sadecky of Clermont, Fla.; one son, Raymond Louis Juers of Cape St. Claire; one brother, Alfred Kratzke of Annapolis; and eight grandchildren.
Visitation is from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Gloria Dei! Lutheran Church. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church, 461 College Parkway, Arnold, MD 21012.
John Nalley
The family of John Russell Nalley, 75, of Crofton, has requested memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 8424 Veterans Highway, Millersville, MD 21108.
Mr. Nalley died of cancer Sept. 29, 2002 at Anne Arundel Medical Center. A complete obituary was printed in The Capital on Oct. 2.
Everett O'Connor
Services were held Oct. 1, 2002 at Sunrise Assisted Living for Everett O'Connor, 96, of Annapolis.
Mr. O'Connor was born Nov. 6, 1905, in New York City. He lived in Heritage Harbour for the past six years and had recently moved to the assisted living facility.
Surviving are two daughters, Evelyn O'Connor of New York City and Karen M. Mongelli of Annapolis; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Arrangements were by Hardesty Funeral Home.
John Parkinson
Services took place yesterday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Severna Park for John "Jack" Parkinson, also known as "Pop, " 83, a Severna Park resident for 22 years.
Mr. Parkinson died of cancer Sept. 29, 2002 at North Arundel Hospital after a five-year illness.
Born Feb. 27, 1919, in Philadelphia, Pa., he received a master's degree from Ithaca College. He was a physical education and science teacher for the Anne Arundel and Baltimore City School systems.
During World War II he served in the Marines.
He was a member of the Maryland State Teachers Association and enjoyed sports and literature.
Surviving are his wife, Joyce Parkinson; three daughters, Jill Allyn of Crofton, Jan Darrow of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Jeni Scott of Millersville; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Burial was in Glen Haven Memorial Park. Arrangements were by Singleton Funeral Home in Glen Burnie.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Anne Arundel County Unit, 1041 Route 3 North, Gambrills, MD 21054.
Agnes Taylor
Services for Agnes V. Wiseman Taylor, 65, of Annapolis, who died unexpectedly Sept. 30, 2002 at Anne Arundel Medical Center, were listed incorrectly in The Capital on Oct. 3.
Visitation is from 4 to 7 tonight at Reese and Sons Mortuary, 821 West St. A Christian wake will begin at 11:30 a.m. tomorrow with the funeral at noon at Mount Olive A.M.E. Church, 2 Hicks Ave. Burial will be in Bestgate Memorial Park, 814 Bestgate Road.
Warren Burford
Warren L. Burford, 83, of Severna Park, died Oct. 5, 2002 at FutureCare Chesapeake in Arnold after an extended illness. The cause of death was not available.
Mr. Burford was born Aug. 17, 1919 in Palmer, Mass. and graduated from Palmer High School.
He worked as a wireman for Westinghouse for 28 years, retiring in 1984. His hobbies included fishing, traveling and playing cards with friends.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Shirley L. Burford of Severna Park; two sons, Warren W. Burford of Hanover, Pa., and Raymond L. Burford of Owings Mills; and two grandchildren.
Family and friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow and Tuesday at McCully-Polniak Funeral Home, 3204 Mountain Road, Pasadena. Interment in the Glen Haven cemetery will be private.

Esther Christensen
Esther Schartner Christensen, 82, of Annapolis, died of cancer Sept. 30, 2002 at her home.
Ms. Christensen was born May 12, 1920, in Albion, Pa., and graduated from McKinley Technical High School in Washington, D.C. She worked as a program analyst for the Army.
Surviving are her brother, Edward Schartner of Landover, and two sisters, Hilda Kolesar of Annapolis and Alma Fogle of College Park.
Visitation will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow at Cedar Hill Funeral Home, 4111 Pennsylvania Ave., Suitland, where services will be at noon. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Doris Dunton
Doris B. Dunton, 65, a resident of Severna Park, died Oct. 4, 2002 at Chesapeake Hospice House after a lengthy illness. The cause of death was not available.
Mrs. Dunton was born March 6, 1937, in Burlington County, N.J. She graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in education.
She taught school in New Jersey and was director and teacher at Calvary Methodist Preschool in Annapolis. Most recently, she was employed at McBride Gallery in Annapolis.
Surviving are her husband of 42 years, Joseph H. Dunton of Severna Park; one son, Joe Dunton of Tampa, Fla.; two daughters, Jeanne Abel of Sudbury, Mass., and Melanie Brohawn of Fulton; one brother, William Bush of Stuart, Fla.; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park. A funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, 400 Benfield Road in Severna Park.
