Edward O'Malley
Edward John "Ed" O'Malley Sr., 67, of Ocean City and Annapolis and formerly of Davidsonville, died of cancer Oct. 6, 2002 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a long illness.
Mr. O'Malley had a distinguished 25-year career with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, retiring in 1985 as assistant director of foreign counter intelligence. After retiring, he worked for IBM and MCI and was a partner in the OSO Group.
Born May 14, 1935, in Philadelphia, Pa., he graduated from Villanova University and its law school.
He was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, the Association of Foreign Intelligence Officers and the Society of Former FBI Agents.
Mr. O'Malley was an avid golfer.
In 1960 he was married
to the former Violet F. Taylor.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Edward J. O'Malley Jr. and Kevin D. O'Malley of Ellicott City; one daughter, Violet Corrigan; two sisters, Margaret Patton of Venice, Fla., and Patricia DeSabado of Wynnewood, Pa.; and 10 grandchildren. He was the father of Mary Nicholas, who died in 2000.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater. A Mass of Christian burial will be said at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Holy Family Catholic Church, 826 W. Central Ave., Davidsonville. Burial will be in Lakemont Memorial Gardens, Central Avenue, Davidsonville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 8424 Veterans Highway, Millersville, MD 21108.
George Rollins
George Sherman "Saggie" Rollins, 74, died Oct. 5, 2002 at his home in Odenton.
Born April 28, 1928, he was educated in Anne Arundel County schools.
He was employed as a sanitation worker for the City of Bowie.
Mr. Rollins attended St. John's A.M.E. Church in Odenton.
He is survived by his son, Dolan L. Turner Sr. of Severn; three daughters, Lillian Rollins of Upper Marlboro, the Rev. Everdean Holloway of Odenton, and Gwendolyn Saunders of Bowie; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 4 to 7:30 p.m. tomorrow at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 1440 Dorsey Road, Hanover, with a Christian wake from 7 to 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will immediately follow. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John's A.M.E. Church cemetery in Odenton.

Marjorie Sherbert
Marjorie Jones Sherbert, 72, of Tracys Landing and formerly of Calvert County, died of amyloidosis Oct. 5, 2002 at her home after a two-year illness
Mrs. Sherbert was born Sept. 8, 1930, in Tracys Landing to the late Bessie Jones McDaniel and Roswell C. "Johnnie" Jones. She was educated in Calvert County schools.
In 1948 she began working for the Federal Bureau of Investigation. In 1979 she became co-owner with her husband, Gordon Crandell Sherbert, of Sherbert's Produce Market in Tracys Landing.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, working jigsaw and crossword puzzles, cooking and canning.
In addition to her husband of 56 years, she is survived by four daughters, Margie Anne Cordle of Annapolis, L. Darlene Brady of North Beach, Brenda S. Reynolds of Alexandria, Va., and Pamela Sherbert Shumate of Owings; one sister, Virginia Cox of Chesapeake Beach; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late Roswell E. and James D. Jones.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Rausch Funeral Home, 8325 Mount Harmony Lane, Owings. Services will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow at Friendship United Methodist Church, 22 W. Friendship Road, Friendship. Burial will follow in Mount Zion United Methdist Church Cemetery, 122 Bayard Road, Lothian.

Wendy Hurley
Wendy Lorraine Weldon Hurley, 36, of Annapolis and formerly of Churchton, died Oct. 4, 2002 at Anne Arundel Medical Center. The cause of death was not available.
Mrs. Hurley was born Sept. 4, 1966, in Annapolis and attended Southern High School. She was working on her nursing degree at Anne Arundel Community College.
Mrs. Hurley had done home day care for 14 years and was working at Annapolis Pediatrics.

to Mark L. Hurley Sr.
Also surviving are three children, Mark Louis Hurley Jr., Joseph Raymond Louis Hurley and Desirae Elain Hurley, all of the home; her parents, Regina L. Weldon of Annapolis and Walter and Karen Weldon of Hartly, Del.; her grandmother, Violet Cox of Alderson, W.Va.; two brothers, Walter L. Weldon of Edgewater and Shawn J. Weldon of Hartly; and two sister, Crystal L. Cleveland of Waldorf and Laren L. Weldon of Hartly.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Hardesty Funeral Home, 12 Ridgely Ave. Services wll be at 10 a.m. tomorrow at St. Margaret's Episcopal Church, Pleasant Plains and St. Margarets roads. Burial will be in Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville.

William Johns
William A. "Bill" Johns, 84, a 52-year resident of the Manhattan Beach area of Severna Park, died of heart failure Oct. 5, 2002 at the home of his great-niece in Pasadena.
Mr. Johns was born Dec. 14, 1917, and raised in Baltimore and the Elvaton area of Pasadena and attended Glen Burnie High School. He was a retired machinist from Westinghouse Oceanic Division.
He was a member of the Severna Park Elks and an accomplished cook known for his coconut custard pie. He also enjoyed bowling and gardening.
Mr. Johns was married
to Ethel Loretta McAllister Johns, who died in 1998, and to Georgia May Johnson Johns, who died in 1968.
Surviving are a sister, Eva Listman, and a nephew, Paul Listman, both of Severna Park. He was the brother of the late Daniel and Norman Johns.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday. Burial will be in Meadowridge Memorial Park, 7250 Washington Blvd., Elkridge.

Doris Dunton
Burial arrangements for Doris B. Dunton, 65, of Severna Park, were omitted from her obituary on Oct. 6.
Mrs. Dunton died Oct. 4, 2002 at the Chesapeake Hospice House in Linthicum after a lengthy illness. A memorial service for Anne Schluter Young, 96, of Annapolis, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Annapolis, 333 Dubois Road.
