Alfred Stepney
Alfred "Step" Leon Stepney, 90, a lifelong resident of Skidmore, died Oct. 9, 2002 at Chesapeake Future Care in Arnold of natural causes.
Mr. Skidmore was born June 6, 1912, in Skidmore and attended Skidmore Elementary Public School. He worked as a lawn tractor operator and painter's helper at the Naval Academy for 30 years. He also worked for St. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church for 13 years.
He was a member of the Asbury Broadneck United Methodist Church and IBPOW Elks Lodge. He supported the United Methodist Men and attended the annual camp meetings.
His hobbies included golf, baseball, wrestling and listening to gospel music.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Blanche Stepney of Skidmore; one daughter, Dorothy M. Harris of Annapolis; one stepson, Milton M Henson of Annapolis; 12 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Family and friends may call today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Millers Metropolitan Chapel, 1922 Forest Drive, Annapolis. A Christian wake will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow at Asbury Broadneck United Methodist Church, Broadneck Road at Revell Highway, followed by funeral services at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Asbury Broadneck cemetery immediately following services.
Eloyse Breen
Eloyse Winifred Breen, 73, of Lady Lake, Fla., and formerly of Annapolis, died Oct. 10, 2002 at The Villages Regional Hospital in Lady Lake.
Mrs. Breen was born Sept. 16, 1929, in New York City. She was a retired paralegal and real estate agent who moved to the Villages in Lady Lake from Plantation, Fla., in 1993.
She was a member of St. Timothy Catholic Church in Lady Lake and the Maryland Club, an avid tennis player and golfer, polo club booster and bridge player.
Her husband, Lt. Cmdr. Matthew J. Breen, died in 1996.
Surviving are three daughters, Sharon Breen-Page of Wilton Manors, Fla., Mary Ellen Palker of Aiken, S.C., and Patty Sarrell of Arden, N.C.; and eight grandchildren.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 tonight at Beyers Funeral Home in Lady Lake. A Mass of Christian buruial will be said at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow at St. Timothy Catholic Church. Burial will be in Florida National cemetery in Bushnell.

James Chambers
James Henry "Big Jim" Chambers Jr., 79, a longtime resident of Annapolis, died of natural causes Oct. 10, 2002 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a brief illness.
Mr. Chambers was born Oct. 30, 1922, in Annapolis and was educated in Anne Arundel County Schools. He retired from the Naval Academy, where he worked as a butcher.
During World War II, he served in the Army as a construction technician from June 7, 1945, to Dec. 13, 1946. He was awarded the Army of Occupation Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.
His interests were helping people, watching sports on television and the Friendly Friendship Club.
Surviving are two sisters, Dorothy V. Chambers and Christine E. Cully, and a brother, Frank B. Chambers Sr., all of Annapolis.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. tomorrow at Reese and Sons Mortuary, 821 West St. The Christian wake will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at John Wesley United Methodist Church, Bay Ridge Road, Annapolis, where services will follow at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville.

Marion Lipinski
Marion Waler Lipinski, 55, a 34-year resident of Cape St. Claire, died of cancer Oct. 12, 2002 at her home after a three-year illness.
Known as "Mar" and "Maz, " Mrs. Lipinski was born Nov. 25, 1946, in Baltimore. She graduated from Severna Park High School in 1964.
She was active with the American Red Cross and Anne Arundel Medical Center, working there from 1964 to 2001 in a variety of areas. At the time of her death, she was employed at Crofton Nursing and Convalescent Center in its social work department.
She was a dedicated and active member of St. Andrew by the Bay Catholic Church where she sang in the choir and was a co-founder of a church sewing group. An amateur actor, she appeared in church programs and theater groups
She enjoyed visiting and singing at nursing homes and in earlier years she liked to bowl.
In 1968 she was married
to Joseph Lipinski.
Also surviving are two sons, Kenneth Lipinski of Annapolis and Paul Lipinski of Arnold; her mother, Pauline Fuhrman Whetzel of Annapolis; one brother, Henry Jerry Fuhrman of Annapolis; three sisters, Elizabeth Dennig of Berlin in Worcester County, Jane DeMaine of Conklin, N.Y., and Pauline "Lorie" Rawlings of Annapolis; and one granddaughter. She was the daughter of the late Henry James Fuhrman.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 tonight and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester St. A Mass of Christian burial will be said at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Andrew by the Bay Catholic Church, 701 College Parkway, near Cape St. Claire Road. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Evelyn Poole
Evelyn C. Poole, 67, a 43-year resident of Edgewater, died of natural causes Oct. 13, 2002 at her home.
Mrs. Poole was born Dec. 24, 1934, in Washington, D.C., where she graduated in 1953 from Chamberlain Vocational High School. She worked for the Anne Arundel County Board of Education from 1967 to 1995 when she retired.
Her interests were bingo and her family.
Survivors are her husband, Eugene Poole Jr., whom she married
in 1953; one daughter, Mary M. Hull of Edgewater; three sons, Eugene Poole III of Edgewater, James E. Poole of Davidsonville and Gary W. Poole of Warrenton, Va.; three sisters, Helen Coleman of Brentwood, Margaret Anderson of Ashburn, Va., and Kathryn Sypult of Centreville, Va.; and two brothers John Burgess Jr. of Annapolis and Richard Burgess of Alexandria, Va.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Hardesty Funeral Home, 905 Galesville Road, Galesville, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will be at Lakemont Memorial Gardens, Davidsonville.
