Alice Jasko
Alice Elise Etsch Jasko, 83, formerly of Arnold, died Oct. 13, 2002 at the Health Care Center at Washington in Washington Township, N.J.
Born in Queens, N.Y., Mrs. Jasko also had lived in Mount Royal and Pitman, N.J. Prior to being a homemaker she was a pilot before World War II as well as a writer for the Newark Star Ledger.
The widow of Alexander Jasko Jr., she is survived by one son, Alexander G. Jasko III of New York; two daughters, Aileen Joyce of Mount Royal and Aliceann "AJ" McCabe of Arnold; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Myrtle Etsch of Florida; and one brother, Roy Etsch of Monroe Township, N.J.
Visitation is at 10 a.m. Thursday at Kelley Funeral Home, 125 Pitman Ave., Pitman, where services will follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Old Tennent cemetery in Tennent, N.J.

William Nichols III
William Ridgely "Nick" Nichols III, 76, of Kent Island, died Oct. 13, 2002 at the Washington Hospital Center.
Born in Baltimore, Mr. Nichols was the son of the late William R. Nichols Jr. and Anna Catherine Meyers Nichols. He graduated in 1944 from the Baltimore Polytechnic Institute and then enlisted in the Army Air Corps. He finished at the top of his class as a radar mechanic, earning the rank of corporal.
After World War II, he entered Johns Hopkins University, earning a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering. He was a four-year starter on the varsity football team, including the year Hopkins was invited to the Tangerine Bowl.
In the college's ROTC program, he was commissioned as a first lieutenant in the Air Force upon graduation in 1951. During the Korean War, he flew 17 missions as a B-29 pilot with the 371st Bombardment Squadron of the 307th Bombardment Wing, 20th Air Force.
Following the war, Mr. Nichols began a long career with the Koppers Co. and its subsidiaries, retiring in 1994.
After he retired, he enjoyed life on Macuum Creek, genealogy, NASCAR, computers and his grandchildren.
He was married
for 49 years to Doris E. "Susie" Nichols.
Also surviving are a sister, Shirley Nix of Sykesville; a daughter, Robin Flinko of Pasadena; three sons, William R. Nichols IV of Cinnaminson; N.J., Scott J. Nichols of Frederick and Robert C. Nichols of Annapolis; and nine grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Fellows Helfenbein and Newman Funeral Home, 106 Shamrock Road, Chester, where funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday.

Ida Ambrose
Ida Lee Ambrose, 45, of Severna Park, died Oct. 14, 2002 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after an extended illness.
Known affectionately as "Tink, " "DeeDee, " "Bubby" and "Ida May, " Mrs. Ambrose was born March 9, 1957, in Baltimore, the daughter of Carroll G. Cool of Westminster and the late Mary Louise Shatzer Cool.
She was the wife of John E. Ambrose Sr. for 29 years.
She was office supervisor for Manheim's Baltimore-Washington Auto Exchange for 11 years. Her interests included fishing, hunting, arts and crafts, travel and sewing.
Besides her husband and father, she is survived by her son, John E. Ambrose Jr. of Glen Burnie; her brothers, Alan "Wayne" Cool of Manchester, Jim Cool of Georgia and Carroll G. "Butch" Cool Jr. of Glen Burnie; and her sister, Shirley Gray of Westminster.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and tomorrow at Fletcher Funeral Home, 254 E. Main St., Westminster, where services will be at 2 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg.

Victoria Butler
Victoria J. Butler, 58, recently of Annapolis and formerly of Glen Burnie and Baltimore, died Oct. 13, 2002 at her home after a long illness.
Mrs. Butler was born Aug. 25, 1944, in Baltimore. She worked 15 years in the Westport area of Baltimore as a machine operator for Carr-Lowrey Glass Co., from which she retired in 1984 due to illness.
She was a member of Glen Lutheran Church in Glen Burnie. Her interest was music.
She was the wife of the late Lawrence E. Butler.
Surviving are a daughter, Cynthia Sizemore of Maryland; a son, Michael Butler of Hagerstown; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Stallings Funeral Home, 3111 Mountain Road, Pasadena, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday. Burial will follow in Glen Haven cemetery in Glen Burnie.
Allen Easton
Allen Henry Easton, 66, of Huntingtown and previously of Prince George's and Anne Arundel counties, died Oct. 12, 2002 at his home after a struggle with cancer.
Born July 26, 1936, in Calvert County, Mr. Easton was the son of the late Joseph and Viola Easton and the oldest of nine children. He graduated in 1955 from the former Wiley H. Bates High School.
He continued his education while serving in the Air Force from 1957 to 1963. He retired from the Bureau of Census in Suitland in 1996 after 33 years of federal service.
Mr. Easton served for many years as assistant and co-pastor of the Bethel Way of the Cross Church in Huntingtown, where he became pastor in February 1998 and bishop in 2002. He attended a Bible college in Lanham.
Surviving are his wife of 34 years, Emma W. Easton; one son, Michael Morsell of Forestville; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and eight siblings, Nathanial Easton of Sunderland, James Easton of Dunkirk, Joseph Easton and Viola Jones of Huntingtown, LaVerne Easton of Annapolis, and Helen Smith, Shirley Dorsey and Darnell Easton of Tracys Landing.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9:30 p.m. Friday at Bethel Way of the Cross Church, 5445 Cherry Hill Road, Huntingtown, and from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Jesus the Good Shepherd Church, 1601 W. Mount Harmony Road, Owings, where the funeral will follow. Burial will be in Bethel Way of the Cross cemetery in Huntingtown. Arrangements are by Sewell Funeral Home in Calvert County.
Irma Marine
Irma Marie Moreland Marine, 77, of Dundalk and previously of Lothian, died Oct. 14, 2002 at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore.
Mrs. Marine was born in Galesville on Nov. 15, 1924, the daughter of the late Mary Woodfield and Herbert Moreland, and was educated in Anne Arundel County public schools. She was married
in 1945 to Roland M. Marine, who died in 1980.
They lived in Dundalk where she worked for the former Western Electric and then became a homemaker and raised their children. Later she became a retail sales clerk.
In earlier years she was a member of Mount Zion United Methodist Church in Lothian.
Surviving are one son, Richard Marine, and one daughter, Sandra Lee Marine, both of Dundalk; three brothers, Herbert Moreland of Ocean City, Ronald Moreland of Vero Beach, Fla., and Wayne Moreland of Marion, Va.; two sisters, Lorraine Perry of Deale and Norma Wayson of Davidsonville; and one granddaughter.
Visitation is from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Duda-Ruck Funeral Home, 7922 Wise Ave., Dundalk, where services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday. A graveside service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Woodfield cemetery in Galesville.
