EDNA F. AKSAMIT
Edna Foley Aksamit, 90, North Haven, Conn., died Thursday, Oct. 6, 2005, at Connecticut Hospice.
Born Feb. 8, 1915, in Gormania, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Homer and Dora (Manx) Foley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John W. Aksamit. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews.
A service will be conducted on Friday, Oct. 14, at 11 a.m., at the old Gormania Presbyterian/Methodist Church, with the Rev. Neil Parsons officiating.
Interment will follow at the Bayard Cemetery.
The Burdock-Durst Funeral Home, Oakland, is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Connecticut Hospice, 1000 Double Beech Road, Branford, CT 06405.
BARBARA L. KETTERMAN
Barbara L. Ketterman, 48, Cumberland, died Friday, Oct. 14, 2005, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born Oct. 16, 1956, in Frostburg, she was a daughter of Mildred Smith, Cumberland, and the late Joseph R. Smith. She was also preceded in death by one son, Larry A. Ketterman Jr.; one sister; and one brother.
She was formerly employed by the Thomas B. Finan Center as a counselor.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by are two daughters, Tiffany M. Ketterman, Cumberland, and Amber L. Ketterman, Oldtown; three sons, David P. Ketterman, Oakland, Joseph B. Ketterman, Oldtown, and Nathan S. Ketterman, Oakland; and three granddaughters.
Friends were received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, Cumberland, where a service was held on Monday, Oct. 17, with the Rev. David F. Dayhoff officiating.
At her request, her body was cremated.
Inurnment was in St. Mary's Cemetery.
The family would like to direct contributions to the funeral home to assist with the funeral expenses.
ARMOUR E. FAUCETT
Armour Eugene Faucett, 85, Friendsville, died Thursday, Oct. 13, 2005, in Dennett Road Nursing Home, Oakland.
Born April 10, 1920, in Confluence, Pa., he was a son of the late Robert W. and Maude (Dunham) Faucett. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruth (Frazee) Faucett, May 5, 1985.
He was the oldest living male member of the Selbysport United Methodist Church. He was a member of AARP, United Steel Workers of America, WOW Lodge 45, Methodist Brotherhood, Eastern Draft Horse Association, and Northern Garrett County Rescue Squad.
Surviving are one daughter, Helen Holliday, Friendsville; one brother, Claude Faucett, Friendsville; and two sisters, Maude Dixon, Oakland, and Mary Ruth Guard, Friendsville.
Friends were received at Newman Funeral Home, Friendsville.
A service was held on Tuesday, Oct. 18, at the Selbysport United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Robert Milliren and Rev. Phil Dukes officiating.
Interment was held in Blooming Rose Cemetery.

WILMA E. CANTY
Wilma E. Canty, 92, Stafford, Va., formerly of Oakland, died Saturday, Oct. 15, 2005, at the Mary Washington Hospital, Fredericksburg, Va.
Born June 10, 1913, in Oakland, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Della (Lee) Moomaw. She was also pre-ceded in death by her husband, James W. Canty Sr., in 1953.
She was the owner/operator of Liberty Copy Service.
She is survived by one son, James W. Canty Jr., Stafford; two grandsons; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, where a service was held today, Thursday, Oct. 20, with Pastor Donald Wilson officiating.
Interment was in the Oakland Cemetery.
SHELBADEAN S. BOLYARD
Shelbadean S. Bolyard, 64, Oakland, died Saturday, Oct. 15, 2005, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
Born Jan. 11, 1941, in Terra Alta, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late J. Porter Lewis Sr. and Lucille G. (Piper) Lewis. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Connie Wilson and Georgie Wolfe.
She was a member of the Apostolics of Oakland. She was a former cook for Head Start and the Short Shop and was a machinist for Bausch & Lomb.
Surviving are her husband, Carlos B. Bolyard; three daughters, Shelbadean L. Harvey, Deer Park, and Sheiladean I. Bolyard and Josephine G. Sweitzer, both of Oakland; three sons, Carlos A. Bolyard, Oakland, Perry J. Bolyard, Silver Lake, W.Va., and James O. Bolyard, Accident; two brothers, James P. "Junior" Lewis Jr., Terra Alta, and Richard Lewis, Somerville, Ala.; 17 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland.
A service was held at the Apostolics of Oakland on Tuesday, Oct. 18, with the Rev. Aaron Phillips officiating.
Interment was in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens, Oakland.
JOHN G. HAROLD
John Golden Harold, 85, Maysville, W.Va., died Friday, Oct. 14, 2005, at Grant County Nursing Home, Petersburg, W.Va.
Born March 4, 1920, in Petersburg, he was a son of the late Robert U. Harold and Lula Jane Moyers Harold. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mellie Marie Borror, on March 9, 2005; one daughter, Ada Marie Harold; and four brothers, Austin Moyers, Harry Graham, Homer Graham, and Glen Graham.
He was a retired carpenter, and was a member of the Church of God.
Surviving are six daughters, Virginia Thorne, Dorcas, W.Va., Blondena Bennett, Circleville, W.Va., Betty Simmons, Franklin, W.Va., Peggy Sions, Cabins, W.Va., Teresa Harold, Maysville, and Debra Helmick, Maysville; four sons, John R. Harold I, Burlington, W.Va., Marvin Paul Harold, Petersburg, Randy Harold, Kitzmiller, and Glenn Harold, Dorcas; 20 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren.; and seven step-great-grandchildren.

JAMES B. GEHR
James B. Gehr, 75, Bridgeport, W.Va., passed away Sunday, Oct. 16, 2005, at the Heritage Nursing Home following an extended illness.
Born Nov. 27, 1930, in Richmond, Ind., he was a son of the late Stanley and Freida Gehr.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Burkett Gehr, whom he married in 1988; two children, Dr. Todd Gehr and wife Dr. Lynne Gehr of Richmond, Va., and Kim Goodrich and husband Philip Goodrich of Avon, Conn.; one sister, Betty Jordon of Fort Wayne; and a former wife, Ginger Gehr of Fernandina Beach, Fla. Jim is also survived by four stepchildren and their spouses, Steve and Sandy Burkett of Upper St. Claire, Pa., Tom and Barbara Burkett of Avon Lake, Ohio, Kelley and Kurt Harpold of Clarksburg, W.Va., and Tim and Kristie Burkett of Towson. Jim was blessed with four grandchildren, Christopher and Jonathon Goodrich, and Meghan and Elizabeth Gehr. He is also survived by 10 stepgrandchildren, Kelsey and Jonathon Burkett, Brooke, Christopher, and Madeline Burkett, Kurt and Carrie Harpold, and Page, Julie, and Max Burkett.
Jim graduated from Richmond High School, class of 1949, and received a bachelor of science degree in engineering from Purdue University in 1953. He was an active member of the Triangle Fraternity at Purdue University. After grad-uation, he was battalion commander at OTC, Great Lakes Naval Station, and was later commissioned a lieutenant in the United States Navy, serving at sea with the Atlantic Fleet. He was honorably discharged in 1957.
Mr. Gehr joined Schlumberger Well Services in 1957 as a field engineer in Mount Vernon, Ill., served as its district manager of West Virginia and Pennsylvania from 1964 to 1968, and then was promoted to assistant to the region manager in Tulsa, Okla., from 1968 to 1970. At this time he joined Allegheny Land and Mineral Company in Clarksburg as vice president and general manager of oil and gas operations. He became -president and CEO in 1976. The company became publicly traded in 1981, as ALAMCO. Jim retired from ALAMCO in 1987, but continued to serve on its board of directors. In 1988, Jim formed Natural Gas Resources Corp. in Bridgeport.
He was a registered professional petroleum engineer and was registered with the National Association of Securities Dealers. The governor of West Virginia appointed him to the State Oil and Gas Conservation Commission in 1973, and he became chairman in 1980. Jim served two years as president of the Independent Oil and Gas Association of West Virginia and served as a director of IOGA. Jim was also president of West Virginia Oil and Natural Gas Association (WVONGA). Jim served as area director, pres-ident, and executive board member of the Independent Petroleum Association of America.
As an active member of Boy Scouts of America, Jim achieved the highest awards in Scouting both as an Eagle Scout and a recipient of the Silver Beaver Award, which is the highest honor bestowed to a Scout and is awarded for outstanding service to youth within the council. He served as the president of the Central West Virginia Boy Scout Council.
Jim was a member of the Lions Club and a board member of the Clarksburg United Way, YMCA, WVU Foundation, and the West Virginia Foundation of Independent Colleges. Jim was named Oil and Gas Man of the Year in 1973.
IOGA endowed the James B. "Jim" Gehr Scholarship, which is based on an applicant's scholastic achievements and on commitment to civic responsibilities.
Jim enjoyed all sorts of outdoors activities and loved to sail his Flying Scot on Deep Creek Lake. He was a member of the Deep Creek Yacht Club and was a past commodore of the club.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to either the IOGA-WV Jim Gehr Scholarship Fund, 405 Capitol Street, Suite 507, Charleston, WV 25301; or the Boy Scouts of America, 1340 Juliana St., Parkersburg, WV 26101.

A service was held today, Thursday, Oct. 20, in the Bridgeport United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Steven E. Dorsey officiating.
Interment followed in the Bridgeport Cemetery.
ERNA P. TEETS
Erna Pauline Hull Teets, 75, Troy, N.C., died Sunday, Oct. 16, 2005, at Stanly Memorial Hospital, Albemarle, N.C.
Born Feb. 21, 1930, in Preston County, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Simeon Elmer and Ida May Haught Hull. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Oscar, Elmer, David, and Arley Hull.
She was a homemaker, and a member of the First Assembly in Albermarle.
She is survived by her husband, Lester Earl Teets, Troy; one son, Rodney Lynn "Rod" Teets, Midland, N.C.; one daughter, Karen Anita Kale, Iron Station, N.C.; one brother, William C. Hull, Terra Alta, W.Va.; one sister, Pansy Grace Trout, Monroe, N.C.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
Friends were received at the First Assembly Church, where a service was held Wednesday, Oct. 19, with the Rev. Bob Gruver officiating.
