Harry Tanouye
Graveside services for Harry Tanouye, 87, of Glen Burnie and formerly a resident of Churchton for 65 years, were held yesterday at Maryland Veterans cemetery in Crownsville.
Mr. Tanouye died March 4, 2006 at his home. The cause of death was not available. Born Nov. 11, 1918, in California, he retired in the 1970s after working as an economic adviser for a bank for 30 years.
He served in the Army during World War II and was decorated with the Purple Heart during a ceremony at White House in September 1944. He also received the American Defense Ribbon, the Good Conduct Medal and the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon.
Mr. Tanouye was a member of the Percheron Horse Association of America. He enjoyed Percheron horses, working on his Airagon farm and dining out.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Greneth L. Tanouye; his parents, Tryu and Hisa Nagata; and three brothers, George, Jim and Bill Nagata.
Survivors include one son, Harry Sunny Tanouye of South Carolina; one brother, Joe Tanouye of Redwood City, Calif.; four sisters, Chiyo Ogami of San Jose, Calif., Michiko Sako of Mountain View, Calif., June Lowe of San Diego, Calif., and Alice Yamane of Los Altos, Calif.; and one grandchild. Lilly Zunt
Lilly Mae Zunt, 90, of Pasadena, died March 7, 2006 at Heritage Harbour Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Zunt was born May 4, 1915, in Maryland. She was a clerk for 15 years at a Read’s Drug Store before retiring in 1972. She was a member of Lake Shore Democratic Club and enjoyed painting and needlepoint.
She was the widow of Lawrence Palmer and Gerald “Jerry” Zunt and the daughter of the late Harry Edmund Mathias and Edith Lenus Mathias.
Surviving are four children, Margie L. Hughes of Dover, Del., Ron Palmer of Fallston in Harford County, Bob Palmer of Pasadena and Sharon King of Davidsonville; one sister, Marion Shay of Baltimore; eight grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at McCully-Polyniak Funeral Home, 3204 Mountain Road, Pasadena, where services will be at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Elvin Cox
Elvin Leslie Cox Sr., 65, a resident of Cambridge, Md. since 1994 and formerly of Queenstown and Bridgeville, died March 11, 2006 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury.
Mr. Cox was born May 5, 1940, in Gambrills, the son of Lyda Schubert of Annapolis and the late Cletis Cox.
He made a career as a master plumber. In 1970, he founded E.L. Cox Plumbing and Heating. After serving the Eastern Shore for 20 years, he retired in 1990.
His interests included horses.
In 1959, he married
Mary Elaine Phipps, who later died in 1994. He was the brother of the late Shannon L. Matiz. Surviving are three sons, Elvin Leslie Cox Jr. of Queenstown, Stephen Troy Cox of Stevensville and Richard Dirk Cox of South Mills, N.C.; one sister, LaVerne Cummins of Glen Burnie; and 10 grandchildren.
A memorial graveside service will be held at noon on March 18 at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Route 50 in Easton. Arrangements are by Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, Chester.

Evelyn Jones
Evelyn Valeria "Bootsy" Jones, 44, a lifelong resident of Annapolis, died of an aneurysm March 9, 2006 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a seven-day illness.
The daughter of Barbara Jean Butler of Annapolis and the late William Henry Butler, Mrs. Jones was born May 8, 1961, in Annapolis, where she graduated from Annapolis High School.
She worked as a caregiver for several area nursing homes and as a cosmetologist. She was a member of Fowler's United Methodist Church.
In addition to her mother, surviving are one son, Taron Jones of Atlanta; one daughter, Miyoshia Williams of Montgomery Village, Md.; three brothers, Charles Jones of Aberdeen, Michael Jones of Annapolis and Tracie Jones of Baltimore; two sisters, Vanessa Jones of Glen Burnie and Odessay Dorsey of Atlanta; and one grandchild. She was the granddaughter of the late Noble and Mamie Watkins.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Fowler's United Methodist Church, 816 Bestgate Road, Annapolis, where a Christian wake will be held from 10:30 to 11 a.m. and funeral services at 11 a.m. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery. Arrangements are by William Reese and Sons Mortuary, Annapolis.
Henry Kogok Jr.
Henry George Kogok Jr., 63, a resident of Bowie for 18 years, died of pancreatic cancer March 10, 2006 at home after a yearlong illness.
Born Dec. 14, 1942, in Takoma Park, Md., the son of the late Gloria O. and Henry G. Kogok Sr., Mr. Kogok graduated from Bethesda Chevy Chase High School in 1961 and from Farmingdale University in 1963 with an associate's degree.
Mr. Kogok worked for the engineering firm of Kluckhuhn & McDavid for three years, Grimburg Company for one year and Bethesda Sheetmetal for three years. He was the owner of H.G. Kogok Company for 23 years and chief executive officer of Kogok Corporation for 10 years.
His interests included sailing, building ponds and gardening.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia S. Kogok, whom he married
Oct. 2, 1983; one son, Jeffery Kogok of Chester; one daughter, Kristine Kogok of Silver Spring; two brothers, William Kogok of Bethesda and Robert Kogok of Potomac; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday at George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday. Burial will follow.

Florence Mann
Florence P. Mann, 82, a 10-year resident of Glen Burnie, died of natural causes March 9, 2006 at home.
Mrs. Mann was born Feb. 15, 1924, in Pennsylvania and graduated from Penn State in 1944 with a bachelor's degree in education.
She worked for the State of Maryland as an auditor for 16 years.
Her interests included cross-stitching, ceramics and painting.
Surviving are two daughters, Marcia Walsh of Lothian and Charlotte Winnie of Sitka, Alaska; and one grandchild.
Funeral services and burial are private. Arrangements are by Singleton Funeral Home, Glen Burnie.
Virginia Wantz
Virginia Crunkleton Wantz, 95, of Annapolis and formerly of Westminster, died March 11, 2006 at La Casa nursing facility after an extended illness.
The daughter of the late Mary Robinson Crunkleton and John R. Crunkleton, Mrs. Wantz was born Aug. 14, 1910, in Baltimore.
Mrs. Wantz was on the Children's Aid Board, helped with the Red Cross programs and drove for Meals on Wheels. She was a member of The Historical Society of Carroll County, the United Methodist Church of Westminster and a life member of Carroll County General Hospital Auxiliary.
She was the widow of James Pearre Wantz Jr., who died in 1981. Surviving are two daughters, Mary Virginia Wantz Rennie of Timonium and Carolyn Wantz Denton of Annapolis; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St., Westminster. Burial is private.
