William Anderson
William Edward Anderson Sr., 85, of Fort Myers, Fla., and previously of Round Bay in Severna Park, died March 11, 2006 at the Augsburg Lutheran Home in Baltimore after a short illness.
Mr. Anderson was born Aug. 8, 1920, in Baltimore. During World War II, he served in the Merchant Marine aboard the USS Dickerson.
He worked for the Glenn L. Martin Co. in Baltimore and at the Sparrows Point Shipyard of Bethlehem Steel Corp. for 37 years, retiring in 1985.
He moved to Fort Myers in 1993. An avid golfer, he was a member of the Chartwell Country Club in Severna Park and the Gateway Country Club in Fort Myers.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Eleanor Anderson, whom he married
in 1942; two sons, Mark Alan Anderson of Stevensville and William Edward Anderson Jr. of Arnold; and three grandchildren.

Phillip Crockett
Phillip W. "Yarney" Crockett, 67, of Easton, died March 13, 2006 at The Pines, Genesis Elder Care, in Easton. The cause of death is not available.
Born April 11, 1938, in Crisfield, Mr. Crockett was the son of the late Burton and Mabel Betts Crockett. In 1957, while a senior at Crisfield High School, he was on the varsity basketball team that won the school's first state championship. Immediately after graduation in 1957, he enlisted in the Air Force. He was honorably discharged in 1961 with the rank of airman 1st class.
He returned home and began working on the water, crabbing. Later, he moved to Brooklyn Park to work for Baltimore Cold Storage, and in 1963 he began working for Westinghouse. Subsequently, he began his career as building manager, working for I.I.T. Research where he remained until his retirement in 2000.
On May 11, 1963, he married
Brenda J. Harrison of Baltimore. They made their first home in Brooklyn Park for 13 years, then moved to Kent Island where they remained for 12 years and later to Centre-ville for 10 years. He moved to Easton in 2000.
Mr. Crockett enjoyed horse racing, bowling, crabbing with his sons and the outdoors.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Timothy "Tim" Crockett of Baltimore and Bobby Crockett of Chestertown; one daughter, Jenny Gardner of Centreville; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. tomorrow at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 408 S. Liberty St., Centreville, where friends may call an hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Easton.

Susan Dravo
Susan L. Dravo, 54, a resident of Annapolis for 35 years and formerly of Hyattsville, died of complications from a stroke March 15, 2006 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a week-long illness.
Born July 21, 1951, in Washington, D.C., Mrs. Dravo graduated from Northwestern High School in Hyattsville. She was a homemaker and employee of Maid Pro of Annapolis for the past two years.
In 1971 she married
Thomas "Nick" Dravo, now of Port St. Lucie, Fla. The couple divorced in 1992.
Surviving are one son, Darren M. Johnson of Annapolis; and two sisters, Christine Johnson of Annapolis and Nancy Johnson of San Francisco.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. tomorrow at Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road in Edgewater, where funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Burial is private.

Elmer Moreland
Elmer B. "Johnny" Moreland, 70, a lifelong resident of Lothian, died of cancer March 13, 2006 at his home after a three-month illness.
Born Oct. 30, 1935, in Maryland, Mr. Moreland graduated from Southern High School in 1953. He worked for Giant Food for 33 years. His interests included baseball.
His wife, Dowell Moreland, died in 1975. He was the brother of the late James "Huskey" Moreland and Alice M. Plumley.
Surviving are two daughters, Kathleene M. Manis of Farmville, Va., and Beth E. Colgan of Yorktown, Va.; one brother, Richard Moreland of Lothian; two sisters, Betty Estep and Donna Moreland, both of Lothian; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow at Southern Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum Chapel, 10155 Ward Road in Dunkirk with burial to follow. Arrangements are by Hardesty Funeral Home in Galesville.

Barbara Paddy
Barbara May Paddy, 67, of Edgewater, died March 12, 2006 at Anne Arundel Medical Center of complications of a stroke.
Mrs. Paddy was born in Washington, D.C., on June 3, 1938, and attended Mayo, Edgewater and Annapolis schools. She was a bartender at the former Champs Restaurant and Pub in Davidsonville for several years, and then for five years at the Red Lobster in Annapolis. She most recently had been at the American Legion Post 226 in Mayo for five years.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Post 226 and was a former member of the Community Church of Edgewater. An avid Redskins fan, she also enjoyed playing darts and billiards, crocheting and her dogs.
Her husband, Marvin Kenneth "Teny" Paddy Sr., died in 1981.
Surviving are her significant other for 15 years, Gary Holt of Edgewater; one son, Marvin K. "Buddy" Paddy of Edgewater; her daughter, Tina Martinez of Glen Burnie; a stepdaughter, Kwalonn "Scooter" Gisselbeck; two brothers, Larry Coulter of Edgewater and Donny Coulter of Manassas, Va.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was the sister of Billy Coulter, who died in 1966, Betty Dove who died in 1995 and Dorothy Coulter who died in 1941.

Mary Speer
Mary Frances "Fran" Speer, 93, of Severna Park, died of natural causes March 12, 2006 at Kris-Leigh Assisted Living in Severna Park.
Born Oct. 14, 1912, in Philadelphia, Pa., Mrs. Speer was the daughter of Nicholas and Mary Schaus. The family later moved to Baltimore where her father operated a corner grocery store and butcher shop in the Greektown area.
She married
John W. Speer and raised three daughters in Dundalk. She worked as an executive secretary to the plant manager of Allied Chemical Corp. in Baltimore.
She and her husband moved to their retirement home on Kent Island in 1964. She enjoyed knitting, crossword puzzles, playing cards and shopping as well as spending time with grandchildren and family.
Mr. Speer is now deceased. Surviving are their daughters, Frances S. Villa of Baldwin in Baltimore County, Mary Ann Brandt of Sun Valley, Calif., and Joanne Elizabeth Gamba of Annapolis; 11 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late Nicholas A. Schaus.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, with a 7:30 p.m. wake service. A Mass of Christian burial will be said at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Rita's Catholic Church, 2907 Dunleer Road in Baltimore. Burial will be in Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery, German Hill Road, Dundalk. Frances Wierum
Frances Churchill Woods Wierum, whose parents were founding members of what is now Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church in Severna Park, died March 14, 2006 at her home in Trappe. She was 103.
Born in Chester, Pa., on June 13, 1902, Mrs. Wierum grew up in Severna Park, the daughter of the Rev. Frank C. Woods and Virginia Lee Woods. On the founding of the church, Dr. Woods received a congratulatory letter from his friend and fellow student at Princeton University, Woodrow Wilson. In her youth, Mrs. Wierum was active in the church and sang in the choir.
She graduated from Friends School in Baltimore. One of her teachers at Friends was her older sister, Isabel Woods, who taught there for 40 years. Mrs. Wierum studied piano at the Peabody Institute and played up until her death.
She was married
in 1923 to Carl Wierum, a graduate of the Naval Academy. Upon his retirement from the Navy, they lived in Rockville Centre and later Huntington Bay, Long Island, N.Y.
Among her many interests was fashion design for which she was awarded a prize in a national contest. She was an excellent bridge player and an accomplished gardener and rose enthusiast. She took up golf, later winning championships and heading the women's golf committee at the Huntington Club on Long Island.
The Wierums retired to Trappe in 1962 where they designed and built a house on Island Creek. Her husband is now deceased.
Surviving are one son, Dr. Carl Wierum Jr. of Demarest, N.J.; one daughter, Virginia Lee Bennett of Pasadena; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 3936 Main St., in Trappe. Arrangements are by Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home in Easton.
