Glen Baker
Glen Raymond Baker, 76, of Severna Park, died of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, on March 4, 2006 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie after a brief illness.
Mr. Baker was born July 14, 1929, and reared in Benton, Pa. He graduated from Bloomburg University in Pennsylvania in 1950.
He served in the Army during the Korean War and was a retired federal employee who worked for the National Security Agency for 30 years..
Surviving are his wife, Anna S. Baker of Severna Park; two daughters, Sheila Sunderland of Towson and Marsha Baker of Pasadena; one son, Gregory Baker of Newark, Del.; one brother, Wayne Baker of Oakton, Va.; and five grandchildren.
A memorial Mass will be said at 1 p.m. tomorrow at St. Bernadette's Catholic Church, 801 Stevenson Road, Severn. Burial is private. Arrangements are by Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home.

Janet Fisher
Janet Ann Fisher, 75, of Stevensville, died unexpectedly March 4, 2006 at Anne Arundel Medical Center of complications of a brain tumor.
Born Oct. 15, 1930, in Lansing, Mich., Mrs. Fisher was the daughter of the late Albert Peter Schweizer and Eleanor Curtis Schweizer. She attended Michigan State University and worked for the former Capital Airlines in Chiago.
She moved to the Bethesda area and then to Edgewater, working for the former Garfinkel's and Woodward and Lothrop department stories in Annapolis. Subsequently she worked for Farmers Bank, which became BB&T.; She retired in the spring of 2005.
Surviving are two children, Eleanor "Sam" Creel and Eddie Fisher, both of Stevensville; a sister, Mary Lou Schilke of Chester; three grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

Christine Hangsleben
Christine Marie Hangsleben, 54, a resident of Churchton for 15 years, died March 5, 2006 at her home. The cause of death is not available.
Mrs. Hangsleben was born Nov. 25, 1951, in Washington, D.C., and was a homemaker. She attended Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church and enjoyed spending time with her family and visiting the Outer Banks.
Surviving are her husband, Gerald Daniel "Jerry" Hangsleben; two children, Mark Morrison of Appomatax, Va., and Amber Saukel of Churchton; her parents, Edmund and Rena Brozowski of District Heights; five sisters, Karen Mularki of Fairfax, Va., Joleen Botalico of Croom, Eileen Coffrin of Cheltenham, Patricia Bryant of Elizabeth City, N.C., and Alicia Kreider of Leesburg, Va.; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at noon tomorrow at Hardesty Funeral Home, 905 Galesville Road, Galesville. Burial will be private.

Peggy Johnson
Peggy Ford Johnson, 67, a two-year resident of Ocean City and formerly of Davidsonville, died of a cerebral hemorrhage March 5, 2006 at Chesapeake Hospice House in Linthicum after a two-week illness.
Born Aug. 18, 1938, in Lothian and the daughter of Dorothy Ford of Crofton and the late Milton D. Ford, Mrs. Johnson graduated from Southern High School in 1956.
She worked for the former C&P; Telephone Co. in various positions.
In addition to her mother, surviving are her husband, Jasper Johnson, whom she married
Aug. 31, 1957; three daughters, Mitzi Hopkins of Harwood, Dana Thomas of Owings and Janet Williams of Riva; one brother, Milton "Mickey" Ford of Spotsylvania, Va.; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Davidsonville United Methodist Church, 819 Central Ave., Davidsonville. Burial will follow in Lakemont Memorial Gardens, Davidsonville.

Dorothy Kirkley
Dorothy S. Kirkley, 83, a two-year resident of Sykesville and formerly of Annapolis, died of natural causes March 3, 2006 at Copper Ridge retirement community in Sykesville after a brief illness.
Born April 21, 1922, in Princess Anne, Mrs. Kirkley was a teacher's aide for the Anne Arundel County School system.
She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, a women educators' honor society, as well as St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Kensington and Trinity United Methodist Church in Annapolis.
She was the widow of the Rev. Charles F. Kirkley and sister of the late Lorraine Bloodsworth.
Surviving are three sons, Craig Kirkley of Stevensville, Chad E. Kirkley of North Carolina and Cort E. Kirkley of Virginia; and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Kirkley-Ruddick Funeral Home, 421 Crain Highway SE, Glen Burnie. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 10401 Armory Ave., Kensington. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Kathleen Tadewald
The date of birth was incorrect in the obituary for Kathleen "Kathy" Tadewald, 57, in her obituary on Feb. 26.
Mrs. Tadewald, of Davidsonville, died Feb. 21, 2006 at Anne Arundel Medical Center. She was born Jan. 21, 1949, in Detroit, Mich.
Ruth Taylor
Ruth Marstaller Taylor, 100, a recent resident of Somerford Place in Annapolis and formerly of Maine for 14 years and Annapolis for 16 years, died of natural causes March 4, 2006 at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
Born April 1, 1905, in Durham, Maine, Mrs. Taylor was the last remaining sibling of four brothers and eight sisters and the third sibling to have lived to 100 years of age.
Mrs. Taylor attended Nyack College in New York and Gordon College in Maine. She taught in a one-room schoolhouse in Maine and at the Bible Institute in South America. She was a missionary in Colombia, South America, for 10 years.
She also taught women's Sunday school at Capital Metropolitan Baptist Church in Washington, D.C., and at Heritage Baptist Church in Annapolis.
She was a member of Annapolis Evangelical Presbyterian Church and the American Leprosy Mission, where she was a board member.
On June 7, 1930, she married
the Rev. Clyde W. Taylor, who died June 3, 1988.
Surviving are one son, Clyde D. Taylor of Washington, D.C., who served as U.S. ambassador to Paraguay in the 1980s; three daughters, Orletta Gillikin of Arnold, Darlene Tate of Annapolis and Carolyn Thompson of Winter Springs, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Hardesty Funeral Home, 12 Ridgely Ave. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Annapolis, 710 Ridgely Ave. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
