Howard Tucker Jr.
Howard W. Tucker Jr., 84, died Oct. 26, 2006 at home in Melbourne, Fla. The cause of death was unavailable.
Born in Annapolis, Mr. Tucker moved to Florida in 1984. A Navy World War II veteran, he served in SACO, the Sino-American Cooperative Organization also known as "the rice paddie navy." He retired after 30 years with A&P Grocery Store as a night manager.
An avid golfer, he was a past member of Jacksonville Beach Golf Course and Eisenhower Golf Course in Annapolis.
On Oct. 21, 1946, he was married
to Lubov Tucker from Shanghai, China. Also surviving are a niece, two nephews, three great-nephews and a great-niece. He was the brother of the late Stanley G. Tucker.

No formal services are planned. Arrangements are by South Brevard Funeral Home in Melbourne.
Leroy Wade
Leroy Albert "Lee" Wade III, 49, of Easton, died of cancer Oct. 25, 2006 at home after a yearlong illness.
Mr. Wade was born Dec. 18, 1956, in Annapolis, and was the son of Margaret Peggy and Leroy Albert Wade Jr. of Annapolis.
Over a 32-year period he was owner and operator of American Cleaning Corp., Store Systems Inc., AmeriMaid, Masterworks, Cape True Value Hardware, Bebo's and Jones Station Inn restaurants and Wade Services Inc. At one time he was responsible for more than 1, 000 employees as his companies provided maintenance services at major malls and retailers on the East Coast.
He was also owner of the Cape St. Claire Shopping Center and a member of the Cape St. Claire Business Owner's Association.
His interests included hunting, fishing, travel, reading, animals, helping friends in need and discussing politics.
In addition to his parents, surviving are his wife of seven years, Melissa Faye Wade; one daughter, Lizabeth N. Lewandowski of Annapolis; two brothers, Wayne Wade of Annapolis and Robert Wade of Easton; two sisters, Terry Tayloe of South Riding, Va., and Lori Alton of Annapolis.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, where funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Burial is private.

Frances Adwell
Frances Marie Adwell, 83, a resident of the Wilelinor community in Edgewater for 39 years and previously of Gaithersburg and Temple Hills, died Oct. 22, 2006 at her home of complications of Parkinson's disease after a seven-year illness.
Born April 6, 1923, in Washington, D.C., and the daughter of the late Albert and Martha Ludke, Mrs. Adwell graduated at age 16 from Eastern High School in Washington in 1939. She was a homemaker and a caregiver to her parents, her mother-in-law, her husband, daughter, daughter-in-law and extended family members during illnesses and subsequent death.
She was one of the Jehovah's Witnesses in the South Annapolis Congregation in Gingerville. An avid reader of the Bible, biblical research and other publications, she taught the Bible publicly and privately. She also enjoyed preparing family dinners.
On Aug. 31, 1941, she married
Raymond Talbott Adwell who died June 24, 1994. She was the sister of the late Barbara Madole, Ruth and Esther Richie and Louise Ludke.
Surviving are two sons, Jonathan R. Adwell of Edgewater and Donald F. Adwell of Annapolis; two daughters, Linda M. Adwell of Edgewater and Marjorie L. Frager of Muscatine, Iowa; three brothers, Albert F. Ludke of Lutherville, David N. Ludke of Chantilly, Va., and Walter A. Ludke of Hebron in Wicomico County; and four grandchildren.
A memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Gingerville. Arrangements are by Kalas Funeral Home in Edgewater. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 445 Defense Highway, Annapolis, MD 21401, or Jehovah's Witnesses, 65 Tarragon Lane, Edgewater, MD 21037.
Ernestine Bibb
Ernestine Turner Bibb, 69, died of cancer Oct. 22, 2006 at her home in Galesville.
Mrs. Bibb, known as "Tine, " was born Sept. 17, 1937, in Galesville to the late Allen Venue Turner and Purdella Crowner Turner. She graduated from the former Wiley H. Bates High School in 1955 and received a degree in nursing from a school on the Eastern Shore.
She worked at Crownsville State Hospital for 30 years and later cared for others in their homes as a nurse's aide.
She was a lifetime member of Ebenezer A.M.E. Church in Galesville, where she belonged to the Missionary Society, was treasurer of the Mission and Welfare Committee and was a member of the Communion Steward Board.
She was also a member of the Galesville Community Center. Her interests were reading, cooking and listening to gospel music.
Surviving are four sons, Marx Brown of Atlanta, Ga., Marvin Sesker of Miami, Fla., Marcus Bibb of Killeen, Texas, and Marty Bibb of Madison, Wis.; one daughter, Marvine Freeman of Fayetteville, N.C.; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; and one sister, Catherine Tyler of Churchton.
She was married
to the late Henry R. Bibb and had traveled extensively with him during his military career. They were later divorced.
A Christian wake will be held at 11:30 a.m. tomorrow followed by a celebration of life service at Ebenezer A.M.E. Church, Main Street and Church Lane, Galesville. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are by Reese and Sons Mortuary.
Lawrence Dietz
A memorial service for Lawrence Allen "Larry" Dietz, 59, of Pasadena and previously of Rosedale, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Lake Shore Baptist Church, 4613 Mountain Road, Pasadena. Burial will be in Oaklawn cemetery in Baltimore.
Mr. Dietz died of natural causes July 25, 2006 at Future Care-Chesapeake in Arnold.
Born April 6, 1947, in Baltimore, he was educated at the Chimes of Towson and was employed in the woodworking shop at the Providence Center. He was a member of Lake Shore Baptist Church and enjoyed family, friends and collecting Disney memorabilia.
The son of the late John J. and Corretta Dietz, he is survived by one brother, John Raymond Dietz of Leesburg, Fla., and formerly a longtime resident of Arnold; one sister, Elaine Jones of Greenbelt; and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are by Daughtery Funeral Home in Pasadena.
Reginald Gibson
The time of the memorial service was incorrect in the obituary for Reginald Travers "Hoot" Gibson, 78, of Hillsmere Shores, on Oct. 24, 2006.
Mr. Gibson died of a heart attack Oct. 21, 2006 at his home.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Hardesty Funeral Home, 12 Ridgely Ave. Inurnment will be private.
Jane Harris
Jane Kurosaka Harris, 55, of Annapolis, died Oct. 20, 2006 at her home after a lengthy illness.
The daughter of the late Tokuo and Aiko Kurosaka, Mrs. Harris was born in Tokyo, Japan, on June 15, 1951. Her family moved to the Washington, D.C., area when she was 6 years old, settling in McLean, Va. She was a competitive swimmer from age 10 through high school, winning ribbons and trophies in the Northern Virginia Swimming League. She graduated from McLean High School in 1969.
She worked at Nordstrom's Expresso Bar for a number of years.
While she lived in California, Virginia and North Caroline as an adult, she especially enjoyed living in Annapolis. She loved boating, crabbing and fishing and was known for making soft shell crab sandwiches. She also had a "green thumb, " with flourishing plants.
Known as a "can do" person with remarkable energy and inquisitive mind, she also was very mechanical and could fix almost anything. She could quickly assemble complicated jigsaw puzzles. Mrs. Harris also was known for her open-heartedness for individuals and orphaned animals.
Surviving are her sons, Art and Thomas Harris of Annapolis and Pete Thomas of Raleigh, N.C.; one grandson; her siblings, JoAnn Vander Horck of Long Beach, Calif., Lillian Kurosaka of Santa Barbara, Calif., and Henry Kurosaka of Falls Church, Va.; and several nieces.
Visitation begins at 6 tonight with an informal service at 7 at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Mid-Atlantic Division, 1041 Route 3 North, Building A, Gambrills MD 21054, or to a favorite charity.
