Margaret Mosser
Margaret S. Mosser, 51, a resident of Riva for 16 years, died of breast cancer Feb. 27, 2001 at home after a two-year illness.
Mrs. Mosser was born on Dec. 5, 1949, in Huntington, W.Va. She was a magna cum laude graduate of West Virginia University with a bachelor of science degree in mathematics. She was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society.
Initially, she worked for the university as a budget analyst. After moving to Chattanooga, Tenn., she worked for the Tennessee Valley Authority for eight years. She was employed by the state of Maryland in the Office of Budget and Management for nine years until her retirement in January.
A member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Mrs. Mosser taught Sunday school and led the children's choir for many years. She also sponsored many Naval Academy midshipmen. She loved to sing and play the cello and piano.
Surviving is her husband of 29 years, Thomas R. Mosser; her children, Paul J. and Hannah E. Mosser, of the home; her parents, Ellene and Frank Spurlock of Barboursville, W.Va.; and her brother, Samuel Spurlock of Monroe, N.C.
Friends may visit from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester St. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Calvary United Methodist Church, 301 Rowe Blvd. Burial will be in Lakemont cemetery in Davidsonville.

Pauline Myers
Alleen Pauline "Paula" Myers, 76, of Bowie and previously of Annapolis and Honolulu, Hawaii, died of pulmonary fibrosis Feb. 22, 2001 in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
Mrs. Myers was born March 16, 1924, in Indiana where she graduated from Wilkinson High School in 1942. She worked for Delco Remy during World War II, at Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indiana, the Maryland Military District in Baltimore and the Naval Academy. She lived in Hawaii during her husband's three year tour of duty there.
Mrs. Myers was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Annapolis, the Annapolis Yacht Club and the Annapolis Elks Lodge 622.
Her interests were crossword puzzles and Maryland history.
She was married
in October 1954 to Henry Benjamin Myers, an Army lieutenant colonel who died in October 1985.
Surviving are two daughters, Janice Barclay and Joyce Myers of Bowie; one sister, Roberta Solid of Anderson, Ind.; and three grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Arlington National Cemetery. A memorial gathering will be held from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. tomorrow and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the family home. Arrangements are by Taylor Funeral Home.

Walter Roy
Walter Washington "Preacher" Roy, 70, a 30-year resident of Glen Burnie, died of cancer Feb. 25, 2001 at North Arundel Hospital.
Mr. Roy was born Nov. 11 1930, in Baltimore. After graduation from high school he became an Air Force policeman.
He worked for Baltimore Gas and Electric Co., was a meter reader and laborer for the Baltimore City Water Department and a driver for Crownsville Hospital Center.
Mr. Roy did volunteer work for various organizations and was an active member of Mount Zion United Methodist Church. He was formerly married
to Muriel Roy.
Also surviving are his son, John Michael Roy of Los Angeles, Calif.; three daughters, Rhonda Booth, Renee Jones and Ruth Brooks, all of Baltimore; and two sisters, Dorothy Bradford of Severna Park and Margaret Hockaday of Middle River.
Viewing begins at 9 a.m. tomorrow, with Christian wake at 10 a.m. and funeral service at 11 a.m. at Mount Zion United Methodist Church, Magothy Beach Road, Pasadena. Burial will follow in Maryland Veterans cemetery in Crownsville. Arrangements are by Reese and Sons Mortuary.
James Stilwell
James "Jimmy" Stilwell, 52, died Feb. 20, 2001 at his home in Casselberry, Fla. He never recovered from complications of critical injuries from a 1999 car accident caused by a drunk driver.
Born on Oct. 18, 1948, in Winchester, Mass., Mr. Stilwell was the son of the late Navy Rear Adm. James J. Stilwell and Elizabeth Ann Weber Stilwell.
As the son of a naval officer, he lived in many different places but he resided for many years in the Annapolis area and attended Germantown Elementary and Annapolis High schools.
He spent 27 years in the Navy civilian service, progressing from electronics apprentice at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard to many supervisory positions including fleet analysis contractor for the Navy Superintendent of Shipbuilding office in New York.
He retired to Florida in 1994 where he enjoyed golf, served as an officer for his condo association and helped his stepmother care for his father.
Surviving are his wife of 14 years, Wilma M. Stilwell; his stepmother, Edna M. Stilwell of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; a daughter, Karen Elizabeth Stilwell, and a son, James Christian Stilwell, both of Bordentown, N.J.; two sisters, Elizabeth Stilwell Morelli of Haledon, N.J., and Linda Stilwell Larson of Annapolis; his twin brother, Robert Redmond Stilwell of Hampstead, N.H., and three other brothers, William Michael Stilwell of San Diego, Calif., James Russell Stilwell of Annapolis and James Joseph Stilwell of Keller, Texas.
A private memorial service will be held in Annapolis. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ Fellowship Church, 5343 Northlake Blvd., Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33418, attention Rev. Martin Howe.
Hedwig Thies
Hedwig Thies, 91, a resident of Annapolis for 45 years and formerly of Saginaw, Mich., died of natural causes Feb. 26, 2001 at her home.
Born May 27, 1909, in Kolberg, Germany, Mrs. Thies was educated in Germany and was trained as a bookkeeper.
She attended Annapolis Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
On April 5, 1948, she married
Arthur Thies who died Dec. 14, 1991.
Surviving are two sons, Ekkehard Thies of Knoxville, Tenn., and Edgar Thies of Saginaw; two daughters, Helga Holz of Inverness, Ill., and Christiane Carlson-Thies of Annapolis; one sister, Waltraud Hochheimer of Forest Park, Ill.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Saginaw. Local arrangements are by Hardesty Funeral Home.
Raymond Tully
Raymond Charles Tully, 67, of Severna Park, died of natural causes Feb. 28, 2001 at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
Born March 29, 1933, in Baltimore, Mr. Tully was raised in the Waverly area of the city. During the Korean War he served in the Army.
He was a retired supervisor in the printing industry.
He enjoyed attending plays, traveling and dining out.
Surviving are a son, Raymond T. Tully of Glen Burnie; two daughters, Brenda Ross of Finksburg and Regina Tracy of Hampstead; one sister, Veronia Jackson of Baltimore; his companion, Jean Kanschat of Severna Park; and three grandchildren. He was the father of the late Douglas A. Tully.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, where services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Moreland cemetery in Baltmore.
