Basil Johnson
Funeral services for Basil Eugene Johnson, 81, of Seat Pleasant, were held this morning at J.B. Jenkins Funeral Home in Landover.
Mr. Johnson died July 1, 2001 at Prince George's Medical Center after a brief illness.
Born Aug. 10, 1919, in Friendship, he was one of 14 children of the late Joseph Leroy and Emma Maynard Johnson. He attended Anne Arundel County public schools.
He was a farmer, who grew tobacco and wheat, and also worked as a painter and an automobile mechanic. Mr. Johnson also was a lifelong Methodist who enjoyed playing baseball, playing hymns and blues on his harmonica and supporting the Baltimore Orioles. He once was named the Senior of the Month at a senior center in Capitol Heights.
Surviving are his wife, Helen Johnson; two sons, Brent Johnson Jr. of Annapolis and Eugene Williams of Prince George's County; four daughters, Alice Spencer of Capitol Heights, Marian Barnett of Forestville, Wanda Mackall of Clinton and Betty Douglass of Prince George's County; two sisters, Doris Kent of Annapolis and Marian Johnson of Tracys Landing; 18 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Burial was in Resurrection cemetery in Clinton.
Lisa Johnson
Lisa Margaret Johnson, 32, a resident of Annapolis for 15 years, died of complications of pneumonia July 3, 2001 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a two-week illness.
Ms. Johnson, the daughter of Juanita Johnson of Annapolis and Mark Johnson of Fremont, Calif., was born in San Antonio on Nov. 18, 1969. She was a profoundly handicapped young woman who was brought up at home until the age of 13 and ARC of Anne Arundel County until her passing.
Her needs were instrumental in leading the Anne Arundel Board of Education to begin providing services for special needs children.
She attended the Providence Center in Glen Burnie and Arnold, Ruth P. Eason School and the Providence Center Workplace North.
Ms. Johnson was a member of The Flying Alfredos, the first wheelchair acrobatic team. She loved music, especially Motown, tickling and laughter.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her sister, Anglea Roe Bateman of Arnold; three nephews; and her caregiving ARC family, including Anne Hines.
Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. tomorrow followed by a memorial service at 1 p.m. at Hardesty Funeral Home, 12 Ridgely Ave.

Thomas Levin
Thomas Joseph Levin, 67, of Stevensville, died of heart failure July 4, 2001 at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
Mr. Levin was president of Chem-Seal Engineering Corp. in Severn.
Born Dept. 29, 1933, and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y., he also lived in New Paltz, N.Y., before coming to this area. He served in the Air Force in communications.
He enjoyed boating, golf, family, politics and supporting charities.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Ellen Levin; three sons, Thomas Patrick Levin of Severn, Daniel James Levin of Baltimore and Brian Andrew Levin of San Francisco; three daughters, Anne Cathleen Chiet of Los Angeles, Mary Grace Salafia of Owings Mills and Eileen Marie Smith of Edgewater; two sisters, Katherine Formickella of Billerica, Mass., and Marie Freitag of Jensen Beach, Fla.; and eight grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. A funeral Mass will be said at 11:30 a.m. tomorrow at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Cypress Creek Road and Ritchie Highway, Severna Park. Burial will be private.

Delma Luskey
Delma F. Luskey, 60, of St. Michaels and former 18-year resident of Gingerville in Edgewater, died of cancer July 4, 2001 at her home.
Mrs. Luskey was born Aug. 14, 1940, in Potomac Mills, Va., and spent her childhood in Colonial Beach, Va. She received a degree in optics from Essex Community College.
From 1959 to 1965 she worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigation in the identification division. She became a homemaker and then from 1980 to 1992 was an optical assistant.
She was a former member of the Clinton and Edgewater Baptist churches. She also belonged to the St. Michaels Women's Club and was a docent for the St. Michaels Squire Museum. Her interests also included traveling.
In August 1959 she was married
to Charles H. Luskey.
Also surviving are one son, Troy Luskey of Washington; one sister, Dolores Cooper of Mechanicsville; and her mother, Frances Ford of Leonardtown. She was the daughter of the late Bernard R. Ford.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, where services will be at noon Monday. Burial will follow in Lakemont cemetery in Davidsonville.

Keith Moxam
Memorial services for F. Keith Moxam, 85, of Davison, Mich., were held June 28, 2001 at Swartz Funeral Home in Flint, Mich.
Mr. Moxam died June 25 at Community Home Health and Hospice in Flint after a brief illness.
Born Feb. 11, 1916, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, he was the son of the late Frank and Maida Brown Moxam. In 1917 his family moved to Flint where he graduated from Central High School. He attended Flint Junior College and the University of Wisconsin.
During World War II he served in the Army Air Corps in the Pacific theater and was honorably discharged as a captain in 1946.
He was married
on June 7, 1947, to the former Beth E. Cowing of Flint where they raised their family. A well-known real estate businessman, Mr. Moxam owned and operated parking lots in the downtown area. The couple moved to Davidson Township in 1990.
He was a member of the Elks and the Davidson Country Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Guy Keith Moxam of Flint, Frank Moxam of Santa Fe, N.M., Andrew Howard Moxam of Laurel and Molly Kalifut of Annapolis; and four grandchildren.

John Nagy Jr.
Memorial services for John Elwin Nagy Jr., 61, of Stevensville, will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newman Funeral Home, 106 Shamrock Road, Chester.
Mr. Nagy, a competitive aerobatic pilot, died suddenly July 2, 2001 near Wye Mills when his ZLIN 526F aircraft crashed.
Born May 16, 1940, in Elyria, Ohio, he was the son of Ann Nagy of Elyria and the late John Elwin Nagy Sr. He graduated from high school in 1958 and attended the Air Force Academy for three years before receiving his bachelor's degree in 1968 from the University of Rochester in Rochester, N.Y.
He was a sales and marketing manager for several companies for many years including Ellerbe Inc., Daytons Commercial Interiors, Emerson Motor Division, Litton Industries, Ford Motor Co., Reliance Electric Co. and Reese Associates Inc.
He was an active civic leader and ran for state representative in Minnesota in 1979.
Fulfilling a longtime dream, he established a career as a commercial and aerobatic pilot. Currently he was employed as a public affairs specialist with the National Institute on Drug Abuse.
On Dec. 30, 1989, he was married
to Teresa Ann Kohler Gastineau of Norman, Okla.
He was a member of the Norman Masonic Lodge 37.
In addition to his wife and mother, Mr. Nagy is survived by two sons, T.J. Nagy of Salt Lake City and Kip Nagy of Del Norte, Colo.; a daughter, Julie Christman of St. Pete Beach, Fla.; two stepdaughters, Danielle McCraw of Houston and Jennifer Crawford of Keller, Texas; two sisters, Nancy Zak of Elyria and Peg Weekley of Olmsted Township, Ohio; and eight grandchildren.
Burial will be at a later date in Arlington National cemetery in Virginia.
